What a gem. My 10yrs old has been enrolled now 2yrs for BJJ and nothing but a raving positive experience. The class is small, the facility is clean and Master Richard has an outstanding personality, relation and positive personality on the kids. Absolutely love it. I hope my son will stick around. I don't expect him to do comp but I can see how this will built the proper attitude, respect and drive the class is intended to promote.

Amazing value for both kids and adults. I enrolled my son after waiting for 4 months. My son loves the classes and lessons. He’s practicing taekwondo moves everyday. It’s monthly subscription and you can attend 6 days if you can make it. You can take both Taekwondo and Brazilian Jujitsu. The master Richard is professional, skilled and respectful. The adult classes are a lot of fun and a great workout. You will burn 300 calories each session. Go try out and have fun!

Our 6 year old son has been studying Taekwondo with Master Richard for over a year now and we could not be happier. Master Richard has this amazing ability to capture the attention, respect, and enthusiasm of his students. Our son is very shy and often even saying hello is uncomfortable for him, but somehow Master Richard had him both answering respectfully and laughing all in his first class! His teaching incorporates physical training, confidence building, and taekwondo philosophy, and his wonderful curriculum allows young students to advance systematically and be excited to reach the next level.

We found ARMA during the pandemic for outdoor Taekwondo for our daughter (age 5), and it has been such a great and safe little community for our kids (and parents). I've been practicing TKD for over 25 years, and I can easily say Master Richard has the best rapport with kids that I've seen. He's engaging, empathetic, fun, and has a great system for making TKD accessible for kids. I've been to a few TKD schools in the LA area, and I appreciate that Master Richard incorporates a well-rounded approach -- it's not just kicking drills and forms, but he introduces students to anti-bullying situations, self-defense, and the 5 Tenants of TKD (courtesy, integrity, perseverance, indomitable spirit, and self-control). Surprisingly, not many TKD schools incorporate the traditional tenants and self-defense these days...it's all about TKD as a sport, but I'm glad to see that ARMA and Master Richard still teach these foundational things.

As a beginner, I took a series of self defense classes with Master Richard. I found him to be an excellent teacher in all aspects - patient, thorough, reassuring, friendly and very knowledgeable. He was always ready for class with a clear plan and goals for me to follow and accomplish. Master Richard has a positive demeanor, is easy to communicate with and could answer all of my questions. I felt safe throughout the exercises and while using the equipment he provided. I always looked forward to my next class. While I went into the series of classes knowing very little about self defense, I came away feeling more self assured and confident with an array of actions I could readily put to use. I would rate Master Richard A++.

I highly recommend Master Richard and All Rise Martial Arts! I am an adult (33 years old) and began taking taekwondo and self-defense lessons 8 months ago with no prior experience. I have found the lessons to be challenging but achievable and fun, and every class motivated me to practice fitness and techniques in my own time so that I could improve my strength, balance and flexibility. Master Richard is very thorough. He takes the time to demonstrate the lessons while explaining all of the details of what he is doing or is teaching. The other students have been very encouraging, as well, even over Zoom.

Master Richard is a fantastic instructor. I took a month of Jiu Jitsu classes with him while I was in Manhattan beach for a work trip. He is extremely patient, clear, and concise with his teachings and instruction. I had a blast entering the world of Jiu Jitsu with him and am looking forward to when I get to train with him again.

Master Richard is awesome! Not only is he a skilled and very accomplished instructor but he's wonderful with kids. Our 7 year old has really grown in self confidence since training with Master Richard. He makes every class fun, but also instructive. Very happy that our son got a chance to train with Master Richard!

Master Richard is an excellent instructor! He embodies what it means to be a true martial artist. He is patient, caring and inspirational. He has years of experience teaching Taekwondo and BJJ. His teaching style is engaging and interactive both with children and adults. He has an innate ability to connect with his students and extract the best out of them when training in-person or virtually.

I am a complete beginner to taekwondo and wow... I cannot recommend Master Richard at All Rise highly enough. I am quite picky when it comes to personal trainers but he was patient, encouraging, and his routine was one of the best work outs I've had in a very long time. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get back into shape while building a new skill at the same time. Master Richard is also wonderful with kids and effortlessly balances discipline and fun. Highly recommend!

We're very fortunate to have found Master Richard at a local park a few months ago (actually he found us). Since then we've had both of our daughters (almost 10, 6.5) in his TKD class and they are really enjoying it. They're having a lot of fun, getting a good workout, and learning some great self-defense. I also like there's decent amount of discipline squeezed in.

Master Richard is patient, personable, and professional. His clear comfort with all things martial arts shows through in every class I have taken from him in his thoughtful answers to every question. Add to that an ease with people in general and teaching specifically and you have an A+ experience I would recommend to anyone of any age!
