Signed up for a 6 week training. I was going to the 6 o’clock class 3 times a week. The owner, coaches are great. The workouts can really get you in shape. But you need to have discipline to go to the class. I did for a while but got lazy. But even still, one of the owners was texting me about coming to the gym. And that was great. Great gym and great people.

Dropped in on vacation for a couple sessions, great facility, everything you need, and the staff were more than accommodating. I reached out in advance to see if they had the sort of strongman equipment I was looking for and they did. Met with Isabella when we got to town and she was super helpful with touring the facility and giving me times I could come in for open gym. Highly recommend! I only wish I could have made it in more often! I can see they have a great community here, will be back on our next trip to Ocala!

Iron Legion is THE place to be if you want to get strong, get healthy, and grow as an athlete. They offer many different classes for all levels- from beginner to advanced! Besides having some of the best and most unique equipment, they also have the greatest coaches and community. Iron Legion has been my home gym and my favorite place to be for a couple years now. They provide a badass facility for badass people. The owners care about their members and work intentionally to provide a safe atmosphere full of good people. At Iron Legion, you’re not another dollar sign - you are a part of their team, and that’s something to be proud of.

I think that I had joined pretty much all the gyms in Ocala. But not uniI joined this gym have I been able to be consistent with my workouts. I have learned so much and grown personally here! I have found a group of people who not only encourage me to keep going but also made me believe in myself. Iron legion has not only changed my life but my whole family’s life. My son attends classes with me and we keep each other accountable.

I’ve been working out at Iron Legion for two years now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best fitness experiences I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is motivating, and the community is incredibly supportive. The trainers are knowledgeable and always ready to help with personalized tips to reach your fitness goals.

Iron Legion is a gym that trains warriors, if not in combat then in spirit. The owner and other coaches have set a culture of working hard, lifting heavy, and moving flawlessly. Whether your goal is to lose weight, to build functional strength, to improve your powerlifting, or to learn a combat sport, this gym will square you away. They offer various one-hour classes every day except Sunday, conveniently scheduled around common work hours. Their bread-and-butter class is the strength and conditioning class, which is a meticulously programmed hour that blends movements from CrossFit, powerlifting, and functional strength training. I’ve been going to these classes after work almost every day for 6 months, and I have observed a significant improvement to my strength, physique, and confidence. I even competed in my first ever CrossFit-like competition (organized at the gym by one of the coaches), and I won in my division with a friend I made during the classes. At first, the cost can seem steep when compared to other gyms, but you’re not just paying for access to equipment (open hours are from 5am - 8pm on weekdays but 24/7 access is available). You’re joining a community of fitness-obsessed fighters, athletes, civil servants, veterans, and seasoned coaches who are passionate about building strength and perfecting movement. Overall, I can’t recommend any other gym besides Iron Legion. If you want to see what you’re really made of, these are the people to get you there. This gym is awesome.

Great strength and fitness gym. My son and I have been training there for about 6 months. Iv been to a lot of equipment/free weight gyms (like Golds gym), where I lift get big, but had poor cardio, a belly, and would have a lack of motivation to get through my workouts. Iron Legion has put me on a path to being strong, tough, and in cardio shape. The classes are well designed and thought out, where I never get board. The instructors really make it the reason I go and don't quit. In a normal style gym I would watch David Goggins videos for motivation, but at Iron Legion I have awsome trainers that have knowledge and passion who are there the whole time to teach, help, and push me. They also have a great health cafe, where and sell 1st Phorm products, make shakes, and health food. This is really a great training facility with top notch professional trainers, who understand when ur new and who can push those who r in great shape George Watson

I have spent 6 years at Iron Legion and counting and truly love it. The coaches really care about you as a person and want the best for you not only from a fitness POV, but all around health and wellness in life. I was able to safely workout for 37 weeks of a pregnancy with the help of Ted and am forever grateful for everyone who has had a hand in this journey and continues to push me to be the best I can be.

Becoming part of the Iron Legion community changed my life and health for the better. The coaches have helped me scale workouts through the beginning of my fitness journey to movements I could manage. As I’ve progressed they have challenged, encouraged, and taught me, and my children, for these past 5 years to be the best version of ourselves. The discipline I’ve gained here has served my body, mind, and soul. Who would’ve thought joining a gym would do all that??

From the moment I first walked into iron legion I knew I wasn’t in Kansas anymore - what I mean by that is that I had left behind the mundane gym environment, the “mcdojo” type of setting and found myself in a true & real training center full of a wealth of knowledge. The magic of iron legion comes from the collective wealth shared by the coaches and instructors; they are all masters of their chosen art. In my opinion, Iron Legion could easily charge 5 times what they do for their services in the fitness industry, but they have found a way to offer something extraordinary to every member of the community that is willing to diverge from the norm and seek out a higher level of training. Places like this are rare. I’m glad I came here.

What they provide could suit everybody—young or old, weak or strong. The coaches are friendly and knowledgeable. It's probably the best gym in Ocala. Grateful to the owner.

Awesome place! We were over in Ocala for a week and ended up hitting the CrossFit classes all week as it was so good and the people very friendly. The owner and coaches were super accommodating, knowledgeable and helpful in all our sessions. It was also very easy to just drop in and pay per class. The regular members were also very friendly and generally a great atmosphere, especially as a foreigner. It's also a big space with good equipment and quality CrossFit workouts. Thanks To Ted & all the coaches! We will for sure be back next time we are in the US.

Stopped by Iron Legion hoping to find a jiu jitsu gym while visiting family in Florida and I am glad I did... The gym itself is loaded with quality equipment, motivational ambience/music and enthusiastic, friendly patrons & staff. There is an adjacent Cafe with delicious smoothies and bowls available as well for refueling and/or treating yourself during your session. All of that is wonderful but comes second to the actual jiu jitsu at this place. The instructor, Terrie, is profoundly knowledgeable and talented, and has a great teaching style and an obviously-deep passion for the art. If you're trying to improve yourself and are anywhere near Ocala, this is THE place for that. Check it out; you will not be disappointed.

I think many of the previous posts speak volumes about the level of fitness CF Iron Legion can take you to. I have been training here for almost two years and my fitness, nutrition, and mindset have all improved. However I’ll speak on the recent Jiu Jitsu program that was started. Being a beginner and only training sporadically over the years, training here for the last four months has been incredible. Coach Terrie is an awesome and knowledgeable instructor with years of training and real world experience. Coach Terrie also has experience in wrestling and various other forms of mixed martial arts. The environment is welcoming to all ages and levels of experience and everyone strives to make each other better. If you’re looking to learn jiu jitsu and also improve your fitness, I’d highly recommend CF Iron Legion.

I was a visitor from out of town and needed a WOD after the holidays. I stoped by for a drop-in workout and couldn’t have been happier. The facilities were amazing and the other athletes were friendly and welcoming. Ted and Karen teed up a great workout complete with sled push, which I don’t have at my box in Dallas. Ted gave me constructive feedback on my lift which I didn’t realize I was doing, so that was helpful. Karen worked out with us and even created a delicious recovery smoothie right in the same building. Thanks Iron Legion, you guys are amazing!

I joined Iron Legion a couple of years ago, fearing my 60th birthday, which was looming. I hadn’t exercised in years. Within nine months, I had lost 50 pounds and was seeing muscle definition. The coaches are great, and so knowledgeable and willing to share, and the environment just has to be experienced to be believed. There is so much positive energy in that place, and they will work with you at any level of fitness. Then they will raise your level of fitness, LOL. I cannot recommend this gym highly enough. And now they have classes for the entire family, plus childcare. There’s no where I’d rather be.

I never knew that I could be a crossfit athlete. Crossfit was for insanely fit people who can do handstand walks and climb ropes, not for people who grunt a little when they stand up getting off the couch. But after a lot of pressure from a crossfitter to give it a try, I gave it a try, and boy am I glad i did! I was very nervous the first time I walked through the doors at Iron Legion, but those nerves washed away when I was welcomed with open arms. There are so many athletes performing at different levels, but all trying their hardest to be their best. Such an inspiring environment. When you're struggling there is always a coach or fellow member there to help you along. You're a part of something at Iron legion, not just a member. All of the coaches are caring, informative and inspiring. In a class of sometimes 20 people, you are noticed and you matter to the coaches, staff and owners of the gym. They will stick by your side to push you that extra inch to help you become a better version of yourself. Oh, and their shop has some of the best smoothies in town! And, they're a good price too! Give CFIl a try, you won't regret it!

Best gym I have ever trained at with the combination of a supportive community, flexible hours, and excellent coaches! No superfluous gendered toning nonsense, just real training with real results. As scary as some of the workouts look, there is always a way to get around a seemingly impossible move. Can't do a pull-up? There's banded pull-ups, jumping pull-ups, pull-up negatives, ring rows, etc. Can't do the listed weight? Use less weight! Something doesn't seem right? Want something highly specific? Ask a coach. I can't emphasize enough how impressive the coaches and fellow members are when it comes to having a great workout, making progress, and staying safe!

I had been a committed member of this gym for just over a year. However, my recent experience has left me disappointed and confused. When I went to train, I was unexpectedly informed that my membership had been canceled. The owner and Powerlifting coach mentioned it was "nothing personal" and that they wanted to avoid any drama with me and the other members. Despite this, I was the only one who faced such a punishment, which felt extremely one- sided and unfair. This situation has not only disrupted my training routine but has also left me questioning the gym's management and their commitment to treating all members equally. We agreed that I could return after a 3 month ban set to return on March 1st 2025 and when I did he let me train for one day before texting me at 4am the next day saying that he would "pass" on my membership. I hope the gym reconsiders how they handle such situations in the future, as no member should feel unfairly targeted. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this gym unless changes are made in their membership policies and dispute resolution process. The text exchange in the photos is from after I returned to the gym and I had only trained one day in which he decided that I was not going to be allowed to return.

My husband and I enrolled our son in the kid's jiu-jitsu a month ago and she participated in four classes. Husband has a background in the martial art going back 15 years and was really hopeful that son would have a good place to start. The instructor seemed very knowledgeable about jiu-jitsu but at each class, there was total disorganization. For example, at the first few minutes, instead of stretching out a bit as a class, the 20 kids were supposed to cross from one side of the mat to the other in various positions. But instead of spreading them out or doing this in a circle, the kids were just helter-skelter and inadvertently hitting each other with feet and hands. This happened repeatedly and at each class. Basically, the instructor seems clueless on how to organize the kids for learning. He would ask them to circle around him to watch how to move, but instead of immediately having each kid to repeat the move, they would have to break off and each find a partner by themselves. Of course, the kids would pair up with someone they were more familiar with, so the new students were languishing. We feel that the instructor should pair up an experienced kid with the newbies so there would be a transition of knowledge. Eventually the instructor would pick up that the new kids were just standing around confused and he would amble over to try to teach the kids. But, again, said instructor seemed confused as how to ensure each move step was correct; he would try to push the arm or leg into position, instead of modeling one step at a time again. The last straw was class #4 when the instructor went to the far end of the mat to have a teen to try on a new gi for purchase. This took literally some 10 minutes of the class time, during which the kids were sitting at the end of the mat chatting. Why couldn't this purchase be done before or after class? A teen student at this time was apparently tasked with training the kids, but this teen was off on the side and just watching but not motivating or attending to the students. There seems to be no understanding of how to group the kids so they each have a turn and prove they understand the exercise or move. Finally, the atmosphere is atrocious, with the terrible din of crashing dumbells hitting the floor from a crossfit class at the same time. Weirdly, at the end of each and every class, the instructor would take time to pose the children for a group photo (why each class?). The Germanic "Wolf Brigade" and "Iron Legion" banners on all of the walls seem incongruous for impressionable children. The owner needs to reassess if this place is even appropriate for a kids' class, plus find and compensate a couple of actual instructors who know how to start the classes on time and organize the classes. Husband complained to the owner, who just replied, "ok". We withdrew our child and will take him to another Ocala dojo.
