All my three kids started Taekwondo training at American Martial Arts Academy when they where only 6 years old. Nothing makes us prouder than watching our kids grow into physically and mentally strong young man and woman, having the confidence and tenacity to compete and medal at state and national level. Even more importantly, the values of self-discipline, perseverance, respect, and the friendship they have learned and built throughout all these hardworking years will have profound and positive impact on whichever journey they will embark on in their future lives. Master Kwak, the owner and director of the studio, is a very experienced and passionate martial artist and great coach and mentor to all the kids. I wholeheartedly recommend this place!!!

My daughter comes here for taekwondo training going 6 years now. I see master Kwaks dedication to the kids and the training is tough but the results speaks for themselves. He encourages the students to do their best and push themselves, but win or lose he praise them for the effort shown and done not just the number of medals won. My son is now enrolled and we are happy to do so. So far the only school that I know in Simi that goes to major tournaments. I highly recommend the school to learn taekwondo, confidence and discipline.

AMAA has been the second home for my daughter, who trained there throughout her adolescent years. More than Taekwondo skills, she learned how to persevere through difficulties and embrace victories with humility. Thank you, Master Kwak, for guiding her and pushing her, but more importantly, when she fumbled in darkness, thank you for being that light at the end of the tunnel.

My son has been with AMAA 7 years now. Master Kwak is not only a great Taekwondo coach to him, but also a great mentor to his life. My son learned to be hard working, persistent, and resilient. Master Kwak takes the team to top rank competitions including US Open and nationals every year, also many regional events. Yeah, tough training, but kids learn from it and build up a strong body and mind. Plus, AMAA provides van services to pick up kids from school in the afternoon, a big plus for 8-5 work parents.

Our kids started going to AMAA since they were 5 yrs. old . Now they are 9 and 12. We used their learning center which was extremely convenient as kids were picked up from the school directly. They received small snacks and got help with their homework. Later in the day they practiced taekwondo before getting picked up around 6 or 6:30 PM. We love this place and Master Kwak cares about the kids. Both my boys enjoy doing sparring and have participated in many local and national level competitions with a very high success rate. We have also seen increased self confidence in our boys. If you are looking for a safe place for your kids to be picked up from school and participate in TKD recreationally or if you want to take the sport seriously. AMAA is the your spot. Staff and instructors are attentive and friendly. And will be a good role model for your kids. Bottom line: safe, discipline, activity, school pick up/homework, caring staff and instructors under one roof

American Martial Arts academy offers after school care, summer camp programs and Martial Arts training. The after school programs concentrate on creating well-rounded individuals. They offer academic help and enrichment classes such as art, cooking, sports and more! Everything is aimed at taking care of the whole person. They are caring and kind people who want the best for every child.

I have been in this academy from 7 years now and I have to say that the masters and instructors are very understanding and work very hard. I definitely recommend this school to all ages.

My son has been at AMAA since he was 4 years old, he is now 16. AMAA is s second home. He has made so many lifelong friends from AMAA and the community it offers. The values tkd offers in this day in age are Irreplaceable. We are very happy and blessed for this studio and all ut has given to us.

I am 56 years old and love this school! Do not believe that martial arts is a sport for children - it is a sport for everyone. I am currently a 2nd degree black belt and am so happy I found this school, it is a competition school and has produced more national winners than any other school! It is a school not only for taekwondo, but teaches hapkido and jujitsu moves as well as weapons! It is challenging, it is fun, it is now a family to me as well. You will love it!

My kids have been attending American Martial Arts Academy since 2010. Both of my kids have earned their black belts and are also competing in the competition team . Both kids have received best possible martial arts training as well as benefited from their other enrichment programs, including art, piano, language, tutoring ,etc. All of their programs demonstrate the spirit of excellence. We feel very blessed to be the benefactors of their excellent program! We would highly recommend this program for anyone interested in martial arts, after school program, and other enrichment programs.

Totally agreed with Vishnu Maddileti. All the Taekwondo values advertised could not be taught to the kids by lecturing but by FOLLOWING them. There are no such thing at this place, unfortunately, only money driven.
