If you try to find any better jiu-jitsu gyms to train at, you will be wasting your time. I can not name any gym more welcoming and experienced than Third Way, everyone there being completely dedicated to the sport and caring about you on a personal level was such an amazing experience. Jess is such a great instructor and goes in depth about everything and is willing to work with you 100% of the time. 100/10 would recommend this gym to anyone!

I came to this gym as a blue belt and felt welcomed immediately. The coaching staff cultivates a very welcoming environment with high level instruction. There are classes for everyone including competitors, beginners, and women only classes. One of the hardest goodbyes when I had to relocate for work, they have become family!

Third way Jiu Jitsu is a top tier martial arts school. If you are a brand new Jiu jitsu practitioner or a seasoned competitor, Third Way is the spot for you. As someone who has trained and competed throughout the country, I can truly say the coaching is som of the best I have ever experienced. On top of that, they strive to maintain a clean, professional, upbuilding environment and the community they have established is so strong. If you are a Laramie resident or just passing through, Third Way Jiu Jitsu is a hidden gem you will not regret checking out.

If you’re thinking about joining this gym, do it! Started my jiu jitsu journey at Third Way under instruction from Jess. His teaching is extremely detail oriented and was always a positively motivating instructor. That paired with an amazing gym culture here makes Third Way the best gym I’ve been a part of!

My family and I love Third Way Jiu Jitsu! We couldn't be happier with every aspect, both the adult and kids classes. Jess and the other coaches have created a professional, educational, respectful environment that is incredibly conducive to martial arts training and learning. They teach more than simply Jiu Jitsu, they teach how to be a member of a team, treating each student with dignity and respect. My kids and I have learned so much and have had much fun in our time training there. At Third Way hard work is rewarded while struggling students are met with the help they need to improve and progress as a martial artist. Each student, kids and adults, are treated as individuals not simply a number, which is a testament to the coaches' leadership and desire to create a culture that anyone would want to be a part of. The quality is training is beyond our expectations and is definitely preparing my kids and I to be able to defend ourselves. If you're on the fence about training or your kids training, it's time to hop off and get to the gym! Thanks Third Way team!

Wow! What a wonderful gym. Jess and his students are not just talented but they are incredibly friendly. They didn't charge me a drop in rate, but had me donate to We Defy. What an awesome place to train! OSS!

I was traveling out in Laramie and jess was kind enough to let me drop in. He was very communicative and supportive of me visiting his gym. The day I showed up ended up being a private seminar but he still allowed me to do a drop in. Excellent instructors, and a family oriented gym, I didn’t feel like an outsider. It was great being in a place where it felt everyone was very eggar to learn. When im back in southern WY, I will definitely be coming back to this gym!

I dropped in here while traveling through Wyoming on a long road trip. Jess (the head instructor) was extremely nice and welcoming. The BJJ was also very good. Highly recommend coming by if you are in the area.

I have travelled all the way from Belgium and my experience at Third Way Jiu Jitsu in Laramie was great. The warm welcome and inclusive atmosphere made me feel right at home. The head instructor Jess is a fantastic teacher. I left with few new tricks that I will try in my home gym :) A huge thanks to the whole team for a memorable time! Pavel (Pasha) R.

Third Way Jiu Jitsu is a top notch martial arts school! The instructors are knowledgable and professional, and the facility is always very clean. I have visited this school on a regular basis and can say without reservation that it is one of the best places to learn jiu jitsu in Wyoming!

Was fortunate enough to join this gym the time I was here. While I only was here for around two months, I genuinely learned a lot that I can now utilize in my BJJ game. Jess is a great teacher, and not only is he very knowledgeable about the martial art, he is also a genuine, personable guy. A great group of guys and girls and everyone is open to helping you out. Will definitely stop by if I ever come back to Laramie.

Myself and two friends from Northern Colorado had the joy of visiting Third way bjj. The school location is clean and professional, students are respectful and skilled and the head instructor, and owner, Rick is one of the best instructors I've trained with. He always can give a tip or angle to improve your bjj game. If I lived close I would train here. If you do live close, GO TRAIN.

One of the cleanest gyms you will ever see. The people are welcoming and the instructor takes his time to teach each student individually to work on their own game.

I have been doing this Jiu-Jitsu thing for about 8 years now. I went up this weekend (2/9/19) to train with Rick and he is an amazing instructor and was very welcoming. If I lived in Laramie this would be my school for sure. Even tho it is nearly a 2 hour drive, I plan to make the long trek up there as often as I can. I give Third Way Jiu Jitsu, 5 out of 5 stars. Here is my grading criteria for BJJ schools: 1) Cleanliness (top priority) - If I am afraid to but my bare feet on the mat, let alone my face, I am not even suiting up. 2) Training Environment - how are new people treated? Are there HUGE egos? Is there 14 hours of "warm up exercises" before any instructions starts? How aggressive are students? (I am in my 40's and I am not looking to become a world champion... I just want to roll and have a good time). 3) Teaching ability trumps rank every day of the week, period. If the instructor is a world champion but just sucks at teaching or is a jerk, I am out. 4) What is the focus of the school? competition? self-defense? Getting stoned and trying to convince students that the earth is flat? The focus of the school has to match your goals. If you start BJJ for self defense but end up training at a school that focuses only on competition you might get sucked into the competition scene but you won't be fulfilling your original goal.

Third Way Jiujitsu is a an awesome place. They have a very friendly atmosphere with very technical scrappy jiujitsu. If you’re ever in Laramie definitely go and stop by.

An amazing place to train! Third Way BJJ is a friendly and respectful environment that attracts some really great people. Rick is an awesome instructor and knows his stuff. Technical with a very deep understanding of BJJ, he is also a skilled educator who is clearly dedicated to running a first rate academy. Laramie is lucky to have a Jiu-Jitsu dojo of this caliber. See you on the mats!
