Black Belt

Luke Evans is the Owner and Head Coach of Cognition Jiu Jitsu. A lifelong martial artist, Luke began training in Judo in the late 1990s before transitioning to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2010 while living in New Zealand. In 2023, Luke was awarded his black belt by Roberto Correa (Gordo) and Sam Kaye. Alongside his BJJ journey, Luke has trained catch wrestling under the Snake Pit Wigan, achieving Level 5. He blends Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, and catch wrestling principles with a modern, structured coaching philosophy.
