Chris is an outstanding martial arts instructor who has made a tremendous impact on my child in just four months of training. His ability to connect with kids and teach them discipline, focus, and respect is truly remarkable. From the very first class, Chris created a welcoming and supportive environment that made my child feel comfortable and excited to learn.
I’ve seen incredible improvements in my child’s confidence, coordination, and overall behavior since they started training with Chris. He has a unique way of encouraging kids to push themselves while keeping the classes fun and engaging. His patience and dedication to each student’s growth are evident in every session.

Since day one I’ve been very impressed with 1st Class Martial Arts in its entirety. The staff are keen on instilling core values that extend well beyond class, they connect then correct, create a respectful yet fun atmosphere, share a wealth of experience, and carve out opportunities for parent involvement in class and as a 1st Class Martial Arts community. They genuinely care about their student’s well-being. When my child was out ill for a couple weeks, they checked in to see how everything was going even though absences make no difference to billing because it’s a flat rate/month. It’s been great for little one’s body awareness and perseverance and my child leaves class glowing and empowered. We love it here - highly recommend!
If your looking for a martial arts school for you child, look no further. My two sons have been students here since they were 4 and 7 yo. Now at 10 and 13 with lots of hard work the oldest has earned his black belt and the youngest is right behind him. Not only have they learned how to defend themselves if needed, but they have developed confidence, the ability to persevere, accountability and leadership skills, not to mention a high level of physical fitness. The First Class team is exactly that, first class. The owner, Mr. Calvin and Lead Instructor and Mr. Chris are very adept at working with and developing skills kids need to be successful now and in the future.
My son goes to karate here. He loves it more than any class he has ever gone to. He said this karate class “FUN”, not boring, so he told me to give a 5 star review.
Love the instructors here. They're all so patient with the kids and teach discipline. There's also fun activities for parents and kids every so often. Glad I found this place!

Both my children attend martial arts class, Karate instructors are really nice and polite and attentive they pay attention to teaching Their students correctly. I personally as a parent only wish it was a little cheaper because of the economy. The values that my children are learning at this karate class are overall priceless..

1st Class Martial Arts is a great place where students learn beyond martial arts techniques. The caring, professional, and energetic staff teaches life and character skills that mold students into confident, secure, disciplined, and self-controlled individuals. My son knows how to defend himself but also understands the responsibility of using discernment in any given situation. The team helps to support him and challenge him to be a better person and martial arts student every day.
I wanted my son to be disciplined and i was looking for a sport to release all his energy. I found 1st Class Martial Arts and all the instructors are so nice, they teach them discipline to do their best, they guide them to go to the next level. If there are tournaments, they make them strive for success and to have fun. The kids and instructors cannot do it alone, they need their parents to support them because we’re a team.

1st Class Martial Arts is THE place for your child if you want an atmosphere that not only teaches self defense techniques, but also incorporates confidence, respect, discipline, courage and helps your child develop their ability to focus. The instructors understand the individual needs of our children and do an awesome job of teaching to their skills while also encouraging growth and maturity. Their teaching style is gentle, yet assertive and, oh so patient! There is a feeling of camaraderie amongst the students that is fostered by the instructors. All qualities that any parent would be grateful for their child’s instructors to have!

We have been part of the 1st class martial arts family for over 4 years. Our boys (9 and 7) absolutely love it! The exercise, discipline, and the skills the staff teaches are fantastic. My son Alonso has done wonderful since he started his Tae Kwon Do class with Mr. Chris. It has helped him tremendously with control of his body and also academics.

This is a wonderful learning environment for children to learn martial arts skills, as well as personal characteristics to become better human beings. Great choice by my son's Mother. She chose a Great MARTIAL Arts class for our Son. The Instructors are Great and it's very organized. My son had fun and it was good to see other people that Believe in Self Defense for their Children. I recommend signing up your son or daughter. It's worth every penny.
I could not be more happy with 1st Class Martial Arts for my Little Samurai. Let me take a moment to explain the wonder for this school. My son (then age 4.5) started karate just before the March 2020 shutdown. Through perseverance and ingenuity, they were able to keep their business alive. They switched to zoom classes. Then, when weather permitted, we were able to come back for in person lessons, in the safest possible way. The classes are outdoors, socially distanced. Everyone has their hand sanitizer, masks, their own punching bags, etc. I was so happy to bring my son (now almost 6) back this year. It is so good for the kids. They teach the art of karate as well as important lessons on Respect, Confidence, among many more. If you want to find a place that cares ABOVE ALL ELSE for the minds and bodies of your children, please try it.
I really like how they have set things up to protect the kids from the spread of covid. I feel comfortable taking my son to his martial arts class weekly.

We love this program. My daughter has been going since she turned 5 years old. She has learned so much about the martial arts techniques. The facility is always clean and inviting. The staff especially Mr. Chris and Mr. Calvin do an awesome job working with all types of students from different walks of life and abilities. They are patient, kind, and helpful with the students. 1st class says it right !!! Our 2 boys 8 and 11 have been part of this martial arts program for 3 years plus , since we started here our kids are more confident and disciplined than ever !! Calvin the manager as well as Chris are great with kids and know how to keep the kids attention and focus on what their being taught.
They have other events : like celebrations/ parents night out and fun activities throughout the year that really makes it fun for the boys and girls . The studio is always well kept up and very clean. We are very happy here ! Great job Calvin and Chris and the rest of the team!

Mr. Calvin, Mr. Chris, and Mr. Santino are all excellent instructors. They're great with kids. My daughter was extremely shy the first couple of classes but they've empowered her to open up a bit more. I love that the focus is not only just on self defense but building confidence, discipline, anti-bullying, etc.

This is the Best!! Started with my little one and then his brother wanted to go too. We love it, everyboby is so nice to each other. They teach more that Martial Arts... our kid learnd to be nice, kind, strong etc... Sincerely there is no better place!!!
Mr. Chris and Mr. Calvin are really great with the kids. Our child, Danilo (7 years old) is excelling in confidence and self discipline. He wants to get great grades to show Mr. Chris and Mr. Calvin. He started doing chores at home without being asked and telling time waiting for class to start. Danilo really loves it! He has the biggest smile during and after class. I recommend pro martial arts to everybody!
Mr. Chris and Mr Calvin does excellent work with the kids. The students are taught self confidence ,control and how to handle bullies. I recommend this studio to people to learn the art of martial arts and build their confidence.

Our 4 kids (4-10 y.o.) joined Pro Martial Arts five months ago and have come such a long way! Their self-discipline and confidence are really shining through, and we truly appreciate the dedication Mr. Chris and Mr. Calvin give each student in their program. They are so amazing with every age group! The kids take pride in their practice are growing in leadership skills. We definitely see the fruit at home when they work hard to complete their chore sheets and get each other ready for belt testing. My boys and I are new to Pro Martial Arts, but I am honestly amazed. Mr. Chris and Mr. Calvin has so much patience and managed with positive reinforcement to get newcomers excited and involved, while not holding back the rest of the class. They are so patient and kind,while still getting the class moving an learning. The emphasis on self confidence, positive attitude has me convinced this is the place for us.

My son has been coming here for almost a year and he loves it. Both the instructors are amazing. My son is very fond of Mr Chris, his techniques and drills have improved my sons listening and paying attention skills as 4yr old attention span can get very limited. Overall a great place to send your kids.

I have brought my son for almost a year he started with the little rhinos he's now in basic and I have seen a difference in his patience and attitude. They dont just learn karate they also talk about things in a way the kids understand. The instructors are very patient and call the kids by name which i love and they are being taught to respect themselves and others. I love the armor class they teach them self defense from bullies and if anyone wants to hurt them. The icing on the cake is their adult kick boxing class it's a great cardio and the techniques are fantastic definitely recommended it I can occasionally even my son if I don't have a sitter
Before my son came to Pro Martial Arts in Torrance his focus in school was off,so decide to put in this karate class which help change his focus in school. He really likes here and all the Master in charge. This is a Great place for any child of all ages.

Pro Martial Arts have been very welcoming. We were lucky to find a great staff and friendly parents. Calvin (owner) and his team have taught my son many valuable life lessons and manners. My son is involved with basketball, soccer, swim and karate. Karate is by far his favorite. I'm sure it's because the instructors are great with the kids. I highly recommend the programs here.

My daughter has gained such confidence since she has been going to classes there. I highly recommend signing up for adults and/or children. I can't say enough positive things about this place, the students, teachers. They take pride in what they do and how they teach. The vibe in the class is very positive. Everyone is nice and respectful to each other. My son absolutely loves this place.

My son is 10, and he loves going here, the staff is great! Very up beat and positive, it is a new studio, which is great because they take the time to work with every child. It is not a rushed class, I highly recommend.
I am happy for my son to be a part of 1st Class Martial Arts he has had a great experience and is very enthusiastic about learning and practicing the moves to obtain the next color tape that indicates the specific exercise/ move to do. The staff are great and they are professional in what they are doing. I like the way they communicate with children. The children also love the environment.
However, i didn't like the fact that i was asked to put my credit card information on a form with my signature to give permission for monthly auto charge and also to sign a form showing a one year contract.. i asked if i can pay cash or even on credit card every month ; i was informed no.
I wish they have Payment method like other activities that we just pay for 8 weeks or 10 weeks ahead.
If I could give this place a -0 I would. The owner Calvin is rude and only cares about billing. He dislikes if you talk to the staff even if they are NOT in middle of teaching a class. I had to withdraw my child over schedule conflict and tried my best to work with them but unfortunately the owner made it a point to push my child out of class. His staff are sweet but this Calvin guy not a person you want to deal with. His comments
“ I’m waisting my time talking to you on the phone not only today but from our last call”
As a paying customer all I was trying to do is arrange my makeup classes my children missed. When I enrolled them I was told make up classes are an option but now that I’m trying to coordinate over a specific conflict this man feels I’m a waist of his time. It’s sad to say but one of my friends at Torrance city hall was the one who recommended this place, and is why I took the opportunity.

Ripoff they charge you for everything. It’s a school of scam. They charge if your kid is upgrading to a higher belt. Everything is charging for them. They will drain your pockets. I would not recommend this school. They are way better schools that don’t over price you like this school.
Well first of all there is to many children in one class... the way you guys make them rum may get some kids hurts... try dividing the class in two... make one group run first then the other... one kid got push because there is too many of them runing at the same time. Make at least 3 lines not jist one or 2....mean while i can't give you guys a 5 start
