Highly recommend Progressive Martial Arts Academy.
The dojo has a fantastic setup, and the instructors are knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely down-to-earth. There are no egos here, just a great group of people who clearly love martial arts and enjoy helping others improve.
What stood out most was the family atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and part of the team, regardless of your experience level.
Unfortunately, a strained calf has put me on the sidelines for a little while, but I’m already looking forward to getting back in there once it’s healed.
If you’re looking for a quality martial arts academy with great instructors, a positive culture, and a real family vibe, I’d definitely recommend Progressive Martial Arts Academy
I have been a student here for many decades. I started here when I was young. I can easily say being exposed to this school as a young adult has been the single most positive influence in my life and has left a lasting impression on me. This academy feels like my home and its members feel like my family. To any parents considering bringing there childreen here i give my strongest possible reccomendation without reservation.
It's also a renoun school and has several internationally prestegious intsructors and coaches -Bruce Lee / Dan Inosanto / JJ Macado linege. (To name a few)

PMAAI is a world class martial arts gym. Cookie and her team are incredibly wholesome, passionate with their teachings and have cultivated a caring and supportive environment. I am grateful for the ability to learn and grow every time I step onto the mats. Thank you kindly to all of the team for everything that you do.
Mini muscles is a all inclusive lesson focusing on coordination and motor skills for all levels. Good ratio of instructors to students and instructors and well diversed and patient. Very impressed and would recommend to any parent with a child looking to harness such skills. 5 stars!!
Simo Cookie runs an outstanding martial arts centre. From BJJ, Muay Thai, JKD, Silat and Kali to women’s self defense, strength training and the kids must do mini muscle classes ... there is something for everyone and all ages are welcome. One of Australia's most highly regarded martial arts academy's. Simo Cookie and Sifu Q are world class instructors with decades of experience. Their knowledge, guidance and wisdom is unrivaled in Queensland. They demonstrate patience, persistence, humility, understanding and care, and can work with any student irrespective of age or ability. The academy has strong ties with Guro Daniel Inosanto, Sifu Francis and Jean Jacques Machado, which often hold seminars. But this aside, all the instructors are genuine, caring and helpful people who just want to help people grow.
Cookie and her team of instructors are absolutely amazing! 😊 When I started out I had no experience at all with Martial Arts but there are always instructors around to help those of us who might be struggling, making their classes perfect for anyone, no matter their skill level 😊 PMAAI has such a welcoming, supportive and respectful environment and I couldn’t recommend them enough 😊
