Joel and the training crew were very welcoming with my last minute drop in session.
Self defense based and grappling class was taught and broken down step by step, in an easy to understand way.
Good rolling rounds, clean and friendly atmosphere with just the right amount of pressure when needed.
Awesome crew and will be back on my next visit.

Good ONYA BJJ Hervey Bay!
We just had to leave a review for this awesome BJJ Gym, my fiancé and I are up in a Hervey Bay for work and wanted to find somewhere to train while away, as you do we jumped on Google to search for gyms, we saw two gyms but BJJ Hervey Bay stood out to us with there fair pricing, good timetable and general vibe. When we rocked up for our first session the coach Joel was so warm and inviting, even our dog was feeling the love haha. We had a great class, Joel’s teaching style was super clear and easy to take in which is great for me as my creatives mind often wonders off but he had had my full attention, everyone in the class was just as warm and inviting and it felt like we had come numerous times.
If you’re looking for a BJJ gym to make home you will definitely find great community and teaching methods here!
We look forward to some more sessions and will definitely be back on future visits!

Wow! I came to Hervey Bay for work and for a little trip with my fiancé, I was a bit sad there wasn’t much position for training BJJ. So for the 2 gyms that found on Google, BJJ Hervey Bay caught my attention, when we arrived an hour before the class, we saw a lot of kids outside waiting for their class, that was already an amazing sign! Joel was teaching the class that night, and omg what an amazing class, he is very kind with a keen eye for bjj, his old school approach mixed with the new age of jiu jitsu, is beyond amazing, his team is full of amazing good people that make you feel welcome and part of the family!!! If you’re looking for a good new home or just for a visit BJJ Hervey Bay is the place, I’m coming back tonight for another round of old school pressure! Love your work guys
100% jujitsu club...old school/ self defence based. Great team to train with across all ages (5 years - 50+ years ..guys and girls, men and women)...all abilities welcomed.
