Absolutely amazing staff, superb sensei, and wonderful experience. We have been bringing our kid for several months here and the experience has stayed amazing consistently. While everything is perfect here, I also want to call out on their amazing staff, especially Katyayani who is the reason why our kid extended her classes for a unlimited sessions.

Our daughter is a student here and we are so thrilled to see the friendliness yet professionalism of the entire staff. They genuinely care for the students and remember each students name amongst the huge number. And this evening’s Halloween 👻 party 🎉 potluck was the real kicker. Everyone showed up with huge camaraderie with some great food 🍱. This place rocks.

My child has been attending Jiu-Jitsu classes for the past four months, and I’m truly impressed with the consistent dedication and quality of the instructors. They not only teach the technical concepts but also emphasize how to apply them practically. The lessons are thoughtfully paced according to the age group, ensuring that the kids stay engaged and excited to learn. My child absolutely loves the experience! I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in martial arts or physical fitness—it's a great environment for growth and learning.

Amazing atmosphere, and great instructors who actively engage in creating a family environment. There are no egos here, just folks learning the Guerilla Jiujitsu way one step at a time.

I have been attending "drop in" classes for the past two weeks, and have met & trained, taken instruction from all the Instructors at this Academy. I've got to say that their experience, technical level, attitude and professionalism is amongst the best that Ive experienced in the entire State of California. The new facility is great! Nice & Illuminated. Clean environment, beautiful and great amount of mat space for training purposes. There is a heavy bag set-up and from what it looks to be in the making a strength and conditioning room on the other side of the academy. The multiple restrooms and changing rooms is nicely maintained and well kept on its cleanliness! I have witnessed that the Training area and Mats gets cleaned/sterilized multiple times in a day. Would also like to mention that the Instructors & Training partners here also gives off a very welcoming vibe which means a lot.

The Bay Area’s premier Jiu Jitsu Academy. A great place to start or continue your Jiu Jitsu journey. The Instructors are outstanding and teach only battle tested techniques. Great family environment.

After looking around & visiting a few different places in the Tri-valley area. We let both kids try with the free lesson. Although my son jumped right in, my daughter was a bit more reserved. ALL the instructors are very understanding, encouraging but not forceful to get her comfortable. We signed up both kids and after the 3rd/4th session my daughter was all in and it's been a great 2 months. Now they look forward to Jiu-Jitsu. Saturday's can get a bit busy but not to the point where I feel like they are not getting appropriate supervision/guidance. Highly recommended I will definitely get myself signed up

Whenever you read reviews of gyms, and I travel a lot, there is always someone complaining about prices or reception were rude or whatever. When you’ve been training for 20 years and live on the other side of the world, there is a bucket list of great practitioners you haven’t trained with...Rickson Gracie, Roger Gracie, Ryron Gracie, Marcelo Garcia, Roberto Traven, De La Riva....Dave Camarillo is right up there. Dave is the former head of MMA at AKA, coached to multiple UFC champions and veterans. I booked a private with Dave in San Jose and was so impressed both technically and personally, that I cut my trip to LA to train at Gracie Academy prior to SBG Athens to train with Dave at Pleasanton. The Pleasanton academy is 1st class. You have some world class black belts in residence such as James Terry, John Barsotti and more. And you have one of the best instructors in judo and Jiu Jitsu in the world. As a result of my experience, Dave was invited to seminar in the U.K which he did, and I’m returning again to train at Pleasanton this week 14 months later. If you want to train with the only world renown Jiu Jitsu, MMA, and Judo practitioner in Pleasanton, this is the place. I can’t recommend it enough. Glyn Powditch SBG 1st degree BJJ Black Belt

Without question, Dave Camarillo is one of the best instructors in the world I've ever had the privilege of learning from. His vast experience and depth of knowledge coupled with his direct, concise, extremely well thought out systems based approach to teaching combatives/self defence/martial arts is nothing short of amazing. He has inspired and motivated me to be a better coach and student. If you ever have the chance to take a class from Dave do yourself the favor! Beyond highly recommended.

Outstanding instruction, both for people who have never trained and for those who have been training for a while. They teach in a way that is accessible to beginners and applicable to experts. Simply amazing.

The ability to be active while your kids are active is awesome for parents. We have been her over 5 years and wouldn't trade it. Myself and two of my kids train here. This is a great "village" to raise kids in.

My 3 kids have been doing Jiu jitsu here for 7 years now, and they have a top rate program. They're very organized and the sensei's are very good with kids.

Our son has been going here since he was 3. Amazingly patient instruction. I remember my kid running around out of control and my apologizing to Sensei Danny for his behavior. In essence Sensei Danny's response was he's 3. They're all like that in the beginning. After 2-3 more lessons our son settled down and got into the rhythm of the class. He's now 5 and absolutely loves this place. So much so we drive from Martinez to attend. We hope to keep him in this dojo well into adulthood.

I am one of Dave Camarillo's black belts, and I own an Academy in Louisiana. Every year I come to visit, train, and learn out here at Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu headquarters. Each time I come, I am amazed at the progress and fantastic environment he has created. It is no surprise that his school is so successful! If you are at all interested in learning self defense and martial arts in a traditional family environment, then head straight away to Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu!

This is a fantastic dojo for children and adults. There is nothing better than dropping off your kid at a nurturing environment while you get an amazing workout on the next mat.
