CornerStones Grappling Academy is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) gym located at Stones Corner, Brisbane, in Queensland, Australia, that takes a different approach to coaching. We use the Ecological Dynamics theoretical framework to underpin task based games to develop submission grappling skill through problem solving and decision making to ensure our students learn quickly, retain more, and have more fun!

CSGA has changed our lives—it’s given our children confidence, taught them discipline and skills, and welcomed us into a wonderful, warm community. My husband has since joined too, and just like the kids, he absolutely loves the gym. The coaches are knowledgeable, fair but firm, and keep everyone engaged. Honestly, I couldn't recommend CSGA more!

Great gym with a really supportive and welcoming vibe. Facilities are clean and well looked after, and there’s a great mix of beginners and advanced people on the mats which makes training both fun and challenging. Highly recommend.

CornerStones is great - a super welcoming community and a fantastic place to learn BJJ. The coaches are passionate and keep the classes safe and more engaging than many of the gyms I've trained at over the years! I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking to try BJJ or looking for a gym in Brisbane

Trained here for a week and a half on a recent trip to Brisbane. The community is top notch and incredibly friendly welcoming. Alex and Sam are excellent coaches who use the Constraints Led Approach to teach. This is now my home gym whenever I am in Brisbane and I couldn't recommend it enough.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in safe and friendly place, Cornerstones BJJ is the spot. You couldn't ask for better coaches for adults or kids alike. They somehow make complex techniques feel simple and keep you motivated to improve, but never at the expense of safety or fun. What really makes this place special is the community. It’s not just a gym, it’s a tribe. You’ll find training partners who cheer you on, laugh with you and sometimes at you. But they make every class something you look forward to. Whether you’re chasing competition medals or just want to get fitter and learn real self-defense, you have found the place. Come for the technique, stay for the mateship, and for the humbling reminder that gravity always wins. You will be a better person for it.
