Our daughter had gone here for summer camp and it was an amazing experience! Everyone was wonderful and the fact that they are not stuck in a room all day is amazing! So many fun activities throughout the weeks and the updates that we are provided with pictures was an unexpected and amazing treat!

We had our son’s birthday party here. They were incredible with the kids. The process was easy and friendly from booking to party. 10/10 would recommend.

Zen MMA has some of the most caring staff out there. Such a welcoming environment. The gym is always clean and tidy as well. Can't go wrong with training here

I can’t speak highly enough of Zen Mma. For everyone from beginners to people looking to test their skills, zen feels like home! A competitive and supportive gym culture all in one spot. The instructors have helped me develop in my martial arts career and never hesitate to go the extra mile. My young son loves the Little Samurai class! We enjoy the ability to choose a schedule that works for our personal lives. The staff and the senseis are wonderful! Maria, the after school program coordinator, is very welcoming! She is so lovely to chat with. Francis and Andrew at the desk can always help with any questions or concerns. Maryana is absolutely amazing with the kids. She is attentive and supportive in their progress. My daughter has begun the kids karate program and is enjoying her classes with Professor David Dash.

Great gym, great instructors. Always very friendly, accommodating, and a very clean space to train. One monthly fee for various martial arts classes allows you to diversify and really enjoy different styles. I highly recommend this place to all my friends looking for any martial arts instruction in Ottawa.

My son is in the after school and Little Samurai programs. I love that the martial arts classes are offered during the after school program. From the beginning, they have been very responsive with any questions I had with the programs. I really appreciate the care and especially the friendly and helpful communication they provide to us! I've never had any problems with Zen, including unexpected late pickup. Other places start the timer on the "Late-pickup clock" immediately and will punish you. The room for the after care program is quite small, but they go to the library next door, Bubble Sea and parks for activities, so it's fine. Since the school strikes have begun, the full day activities have been a lot of fun for my son! Since participating in both programs, my son has shown more self-confidence and he really enjoys being at Zen. The class instructors also demonstrate great care and patience towards the little samurais.

My 6 year old kid went for a trial session. The sensei ended up kicking him out because he was not participating. Not sure why you would expect a 6 year old child attending for the first time to pay attention 100%, kids get distracted. Very unprofessional. EDIT Saying he was distressed is a big reach. He required intervention twice. Rather than letting him finish the class and providing constructive feedback, he was dismissed. My review is reflecting that this dojo does not follow the values stated on the website and discipline is apparently a criteria for joining.
