The coaching team at VRMA are some of the brightest and best role models that the students, particularly the younger ones, could have. They are inclusive, deeply compassionate, and adored by the community. VRMA is a truly great influence on the development of the character and attitude of the next generation.

My pre-teen son has been attending Van Roon Martial Arts for over three years for Taekwon-Do, and it truly is an amazing gym. It provides strong role models, both male and female, from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds and age groups. His older sister recently joined too, inspired by the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere created by the team. The coaches are capable and genuinely committed to helping every student reach their full potential, regardless of experience, ability or background. I’d highly recommend going along for a trial session, you’ll quickly see just how supportive and inspiring the environment is.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Transformative Coaching and True Excellence — Van Roon Martial Arts I’ve had the privilege of training under Mr. Carl Van Roon for several years on and off, and every time I return, I’m reminded why his academy is truly world-class. Carl is not only a multiple -discipline world champion who has dominated international martial arts for over a decade, but also a mentor, coach, and sports-science expert with an academic background and a Prime Minister’s Scholarship to his name. What sets Carl apart is his depth of knowledge, humility, and holistic approach. He combines elite-level technical coaching in Taekwondo, Kickboxing, MMA as well as other disciplines with an understanding of fitness, sports science, and mental discipline that few possess. Training with him has profoundly improved my mental, physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual wellbeing, and has genuinely helped me become a better man and a better person — inside and outside the gym. Despite having an extremely busy and high-stressful career, I always try make time to train with Carl multiple times a week because of the immense value, clarity, and balance it brings to my life. His sessions are not only cost-effective but also deeply individualised— he knows every member by name and by story, which is remarkable given how many students he coaches. His cultural competence and compassion, refined through years of international travel and competition, make his gym a uniquely welcoming and respectful environment. Carl is more than a coach — he’s a mentor, role model, and genuine leader who truly cares about the personal growth of every student who walks through his doors. Training at Van Roon Martial Arts has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Dr. Andrew Jayasuria, MBChB

Vanroon martial arts is a premium martial arts gym which uniquely offers a range of both contemporary and traditional martial arts under one roof. The coaches and staff at VRMA are welcoming with extensive experience in making your training as worth while as possible. VRMAs team culture also allows for people of all ages, backgrounds and martial arts experience levels to train together and connect so that they can get the most out of their training or work towards reaching their goals whether that be recreational or at a competitive level. Carl, Marni and the team at VRMA have been nothing but helpful and supportive in helping me reach my martial arts goals and I couldn’t recommend another place more for building necessary skills on and off the mats no matter the age or background.

My son attended a free trial lesson, but he was not welcomed at all. The instructor completely ignored him and went ahead with the lesson as if he wasn’t there. I have never experienced anything like this elsewhere. On top of that, no one seemed to understand what Taekwondo really is or the respect that is meant to be shown towards it. What was happening there felt like a completely different sport. What shocked me the most was that, as we were leaving, a racially discriminatory remark was made towards us. This was extremely unpleasant and deeply upsetting. ────── If you leave a low rating, your personal information may be posted online along with completely false statements about you.
