Trinity Martial Arts School in Kalamazoo, MI, your place for martial arts excellence is truly an exceptional place to train, setting a high standard for martial arts education and community. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and professionally structured, making it an ideal environment for both children and adults, and even elderlies. The school has successfully fostered a positive culture where students of all ages and experience levels encourage one another, transforming the training space into a motivational, family-like community 🤝 This palpable sense of belonging and respect is the foundation that makes every single class engaging and rewarding. And, I truly appreciate the adaptation of the structure to a less traditional and intimidating practice style to a more contemporary and affluent one 🇺🇸 The instructors at Trinity are unequivocally the school's greatest asset, embodying expertise, patience, and dedication, as well as their love for martial arts. Master Coaches Tristan, Scott, Jeremy, Mike, Nate, Caleb, Trent, Maja, the teachings of whom I personally benefited from in the areas of Taekwondo and Muay Thai, but also others, along with the entire teaching team deliver high-quality, detail-oriented instruction, ensuring that every technique is taught with precision, safety, and respect for individual challenges and limitations ❤️🩹 What sets them apart is their incredible ability to be both firm disciplinarians and empathetic mentors. They have an expert knack for catering to individual needs, patiently working with beginners while pushing advanced students to achieve new levels of performance. It is clear that the instructors are invested in each student's long-term success, both on and off the mat. The personal touch and the camaraderie make all the difference for me 🥋 Ultimately, Trinity Martial Arts is a place of profound personal growth. The multidsciplinray curriculum including Taekwondo, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu extends far beyond physical skill, emphasizing crucial life values like discipline, perseverance, and respect. For students, the positive impact is remarkable: children experience a noticeable boost in confidence and focus, and adults find a powerful source of stress relief and physical stamina, and for me an exceptional opportunity to fitness as I advance in age 💪🏾 It is heartwarming to see the owner and skate holders invest in the school, paying attention to details and systematically creating a confortable and positively competitive space, a first class dojo. I wholeheartedly recommend Trinity Martial Arts to any person or family in the Kalamazoo area seeking an investment in self-improvement. Joining this school is choosing a path to a stronger body, a clearer mind, and a more disciplined life. Thank you Trinity 🙏🏾
Posted 9 months agoStarted about a month ago and everyone is super friendly and willing to help. Since I was a total beginner I was worried that I’d get destroyed or left behind but that wasn’t the case. They’re great! Highly recommend!
I started training in 2019, have trained at some of the highest level competition schools in the nation, this team is extremely talented and successful. The coaching is top notch and the friendships are life long. Couldn't reccomended this school enough.
Trinity Martial Arts Kalamazoo has had an amazing impact on our daughter. Over the past few months we've watched her confidence and maturity grow, not to mention visible gains in strength and agility. The coaches are first class and treat her as a valued member of the Trinity family. She loves coming to practice, training with her peers and learning from her coaches!
Trinity is a great representation of Jiu Jitsu! Went in for the open mat and everyone was welcoming and polite. Fun time training with people who wanted to get better and avoid injuries. I will definitely be back when I’m in Kalamazoo again!
Great people and classes, worth checking it out!
Great place to train, great kids program I highly recommend!
About 6 months ago I took a Muay Thai class & ended up staying around for jujitsu. Absolutely loved the coaching style. been to a multitude of gyms & I’ll just say: the coaching staff here is phenomenal, the way the hold themselves, and their students to higher standards is awesome to see. The environment is extremely friendly & the coaches are more than willing to help, and answer all your questions. Definitely reccomend checking this gym out if you’re a fighter looking to add to your tool bag or a beginner looking to start their journey. Trinity martial arts sets a standard not found anywhere else. Come check them out
I can’t say enough good things about the character of the people at this gym. Their best fighters, who are elite, are the first to reach out to young and new members to help them learn. Every instructor I’ve had has been great.
My daughter has been attending the Jujitsu class for a few months. We love it! Coach Carl is very patient with all the students! 10/10 Trinity is amazing!

Wonderful welcoming facility to train martial arts. Very welcoming and instructors dedicated to see you improving.
Great people, great atmosphere, great set up
I've trained at gym's in Virginia, Texas, Washington State and Michigan. Trinity is one of the latest gyms I can add to that list and after 2 years of training I can confidently say it's been one of the best gym experiences I've had. There's an attentive staff with a wide variety of martial arts knowledge. The gym truly excels at competitive jiu-jitsu but the best part is that you will not be pressured or mistreated if you're just looking for casual workouts and knowledge of self-defense.
Pros: Great instruction Great training partners Tons of space for stand up grappling Cons: No margaritas
All the staff were very kind and friendly. My 10 year old son signed up for the free trial class, and he had no prior experience at all. However, he still left having had a great time wanting to go back for more. The class had 3 instructors for the 20 students. Which meant that every child had adequate attention and instruction. I'll absolutely be taking my son back for more classes!
Crazy cool members great staffing and overall a good place
Overall great learning experience and great staff
Great place great environment and amazing people willing to help you learn and grow.
Their main instructor is super funny. His humor often makes the environment a calm and more enjoyable place to train regularly. 100/10.
I would recommend this Martial Arts School to anyone interested. The instructors are very very good with children. They explain moves where the kids can understand visually and mentally. They also make the kids experience fun and interesting. The building is very clean and organized. The staff is very polite and caring.
Had a great time learning in this diverse class for Muay Thai. Will be returning for a membership.
I appreciate the morals they seem to hold and instill into the kids even while teaching them karate.
Very welcoming gym, everyone is extremely friendly. The instructors are knowledgeable and break down each techniques so they are easy to learn. Great mix of experience and skill level. Recommend stopping in for a free trial if you are in the area.
Awesome class. Kids were very engaged. Will be back
Our whole family trains at Trinity Martial Arts and we love it. My kids do Taekwondo and Jiu jitsu. It’s a place where my kids can receive valuable instruction while still maintaining a fun atmosphere that keeps them wanting to come back. As a female entering into martial arts with zero prior experience, I found everyone to be very welcoming. There is a good number of other females in the adult classes which also made me more comfortable. All the instructors are skilled, patient, and helpful. It’s been more like joining a family and a group of friends rather than just a gym membership. Highly recommend!
The teachers are so phenomenal and patient with the kids. Great instructors. Really gets them a good workout. The only draw back is the lack of air conditioning or multiple fans. They give the kids lots of water breaks though to help keep ‘em cool. Great pricing and classes for the whole family.
Amazing gym with incredible instructors.
I am 31, with zero experience in martial arts. Tristan, Nate and Caleb are incredible teachers and just as incredible people. They have made me feel right at home at Trinity. After 2 months of training Muay Thai (with Nate) and Jiu Jitsu (with Tristan and Caleb) they truly make me feel part of the team! no pressure environment. 1000% recommend!
Nothing but positive things to say about this place. A place where strangers become teammates, teammates become friends, and friends become family.
Friendly and welcoming, you fit in and can get right to work. Many options for singles, kids, and the family.
Love the welcoming feeling. As a female entering the sport I didn't feel uncomfortable and intimated.
Knowledgeable coaches. Family friendly. Wonderful atmosphere. Dedicated students.
I've been going to Trinity Martial Arts since they opened. I love it so much. I love that they teach me self defense that I might need to use one day. The teacher are super nice and they have become like family.
Excellent coaches and great teammates. Trinity is perfect for any age, athletic ability, or skill level.
Trinity is an amazing place to go if you're looking for a welcoming environment to learn martial arts. There are so many areas that have improved in my life since attending: my self defense, my physical fitness, my mental toughness, my confidence, and so much more. Give it a try; First class is free!
Everyone at Trinity is amazing and welcoming. It's a really great environment!
I highly recommend Trinity Martial Arts and their staff. My daughter has been learning taekwondo from Tristen, Nika, and Scott for several years and I have never been disappointed in them. You will never find a more inviting atmosphere with so many wonderful people. My daughter loves it and I am so impressed with all she is learning. Trinity is also amazing as they are welcoming our girl scout troop to a class so they can earn their strength and courage badge. You'll love Trinity Martial Arts!
Fantastic staff, teachers, and crew. Highly recommend.
Trinity Martial Arts is a wonderful environment for youth.
The staff members are talented, professional and approachable. This facility is also kid-friendly with an emphasis on development. Highly recommend this gym as a place to challenge your own personal training.
Helpful staff, family friendly atmosphere, the most fun I've had in martial arts
A place where you can train regardless of skill level and be part of an extended family that wants you to succeed
I had a horrible experience here. The striking coach was very nasty to me off the bat. He also got everyone to circle up and said " hey look at this guy, He can't set up a kick, I'm making fun of you" If you're OK with this disgusting behavior, you're a waste and a joke yourself. Btw, I have a way better team now. Wish I could get my money back for the disrespectful treatment.
Posted 9 months agoVery unwelcoming to newcomers. Main instructor didn’t even bother to introduce himself. Instructors constantly cussing and could barely hear instruction over rap music being blasted. No effort to teach me the basics of MMA despite knowing I was new.
