  I've trained for a week (4 evening classes) at Tiago's dojo. Tiago started his dojo teaching to kids only and later started to teach adults, I've seen him interact with them and it's obvious he loves them very much and they have a lot of fun. He's also very proud of them and their great competition results. The gym is quite small, I would say we were about 15 per class and filling up the space well, white and blue, all ages with somewhat of a gap in the 20-30 range (I assumed it was because the gym developed from the kid's parents). The atmosphere is very familial and chill (they self describe as family orientated), all my training partners were very respectful and welcoming. Tiago is really a great guy with a super positive attitude, you cannot dislike him, the classes are a fun time. The classes are given in English, we start with a warmup given by a student while presumably Tiago takes a break (he has a tight schedule with many classes and private lessons), jumping around, running, high knees, pushups, 10 min max, then the technique, sometimes positional sparring in theking of the hill format then 2 or 3 3 minute rolls (on the Friday we did 3 or 4 5 min rolls). All week we studied the same main moves, single leg take down, and a sequence switching between different guards, + some guard passing drills and a sub from side control on the Friday. Tiago gave me more personal attention than I'd expect as a visitor and his input was very valuable, he offered me a roll on my last lesson too. I liked the possibility to train in the gi every week evening, didn't try no gi but I saw 3 or 4 tall jacked dude coming out of it so I expect the rolls to be challenging! I recommend the gym, especially for kids and older beginners that have some apprehension towards this beautiful sport.

  Tiago and his team are great teachers. The gym has a super friendly and inspiring atmosphere combined with a healthy competitive spirit. The classes are well mixed and the kids classes are great!

  Best academy to train BJJ. Great and dedicated instructors. The owner Tiago De Paula, the staff and the team are very welcoming and friendly. As a student I get so much support. My kids are also very happy and they train almost every day. I highly recommend this place for adults and kids as well.

  I went to Tiago for a try out class with my 7 year old boy after both of us had a rough year. After seeing my boy blooming during his first lesson, I signed him up and decided to join myself as well. It’s has been two intense weeks, and despite the overwhelming feeling and the occasional physical pain, I can only say wonderful things about BJJ as a sport and about Tiago as a teacher. He embraces the children with love, patience and respect. He sees them as individuals and encourages them to be the best version of themselves. He teaches them not only techniques and endurance, but also core values that will form them as great human beings. The adults lesson (beginners in my case) is an intense workout and a therapy session in one. No matter how hard the day was, after the class I feel accomplished and happy. The atmosphere is simply amazing, and the dedication from Tiago towards each one of us is indescribable. I am very happy and I can only recommend this school.

  The best bjj club for kids in town! The teacher is amazing - kids love him and always can’t wait to come to the next class. My daughter developed her bjj skills and gained confidence so quickly here. After this I decided to sign up as well and adults’ classes are as much fun!!! Thank you Tiago!
