  As a young woman who grew up competing in martial arts and other male-dominated sports I was a bit hesitant to participate in a close contact sport like BJJ. I am very glad I got over my initial anxieties and joined Team Galo. Rego, Niki, and the rest of the team have become almost like a second family and a non-judgmental safe place for me to continue working on myself both physically and mentally. I would say that the small class sizes and 1:1 support with instructors that genially care about your progress and work to understand your needs sets this gym apart from the rest. If you are looking for a gym--especially if you are a woman I couldn't recommend this place more.

  I have endless amazing things to say about Rego and his team. I couldn’t have asked for a better support system when diving into something seemingly intimidating to most women. Rego has small size classes, and a lot of 1:1 support along with women’s only classes which have provided me with so much confidence. I’m forever grateful for finding this place! Ladies, this is an amazing place to feel comfortable and safe while learning to defend yourselves!

  This club really appreciates the martial art. Great people and super fun classes, they offer Gi and No Gi classes and open mats.
