In dentistry we talk a lot about having a dental home. Steez is the equivalent Jiu Jitsu home. Coach Jimmie makes a tremendous job at creating a home environment that is welcoming to family and the community. The Jiu Jitsu taught here is intricate, detailed oriented and well thought out like a college curriculum. Jimmie starts you on a strong base of fundamentals and builds your game up from there. It isn’t my first academy but I’ve learned so much in my last two months that I’m thrilled at my own personal growth. The gym has it all and Jimmie welcomes you to take full use of his facility as if you’ve always been family. My daughter is his student too and he’s magically started to open her up and for that I’m most grateful. I could go on but it’s best if people find out for themselves.

I put my son (7 years old) in Steez about a year and a half ago and wow the confidence it has brought out in him! He really looks up to Coach Jimmie and I love the relationship they have. Coach has showed him so much that he’s capable of. My daughter (11 years old) joined a few months after and absolutely loves it! She says it’s the best sport I’ve ever put her in. I love that they are both also learning self defense. Coach Jimmie is the best and really cares about his students. Definitely would recommend to anyone willing to try BJJ 10/10.

Can’t say enough good things about Steez. My 7 year old son has been in the kids program for 7 months. Coach Jimmie is great with the kids, he’s a great role model and leader and he makes it a fun and uplifting environment while also providing top notch instruction. I started with the adult classes about a month ago and I couldn’t be happier here. It’s a family environment, everyone here is as down to earth as can be and it’s a great community to be a part of. I’ve trained at many gyms in the past and the vibe at Steez is uniquely welcoming and positive whether you’re brand new or your looking for a fresh place to continue your BJJ journey.

Great place for my daughter to learn BJJ. My husband started training there first and brought my daughter in. At first it was a struggle because she didn’t want to leave her old gym but it was just too far for us. Fortunately, Jimmie and his daughter made her feel super welcomed and she quickly made new friends. A couple of birthday parties and a movie night later she’s right at home at Steez. Jimmie is the right amount of disciplinarian and friendliness.

Coach Jimmie is amazing and creates a really positive environment for adults and kids to thrive in their BJJ journey. He's great at adjusting and tailoring his coaching style to different individuals and is constantly thinking about how to make Steez even better for his members. He shows genuine care, support and encouragement to everyone at the gym.
