I trained at Steadfast for around four months - and I loved every second of it. Really high-level BJJ practitioners, amazing coaches, and above all an amazing gym culture. It really feels like a tight-knit community - everyone has been super open and welcoming. I could not have asked for a better experience.
Thanks a ton, Caleb, Anita, Jon,
and everyone I had the pleasure of meeting.
I wish we would have found Steadfast sooner. The coaching is amazing, they pay attention to your development and truly care about your journey in Jiu Jitsu. The atmosphere at the gym is a perfect mixture of laid back and competition. You have people you can flow with while also having partners you can prepare for competitions with as well. 100% recommend this gym for anyone who is looking to pick up Brazilian jiujitsu and is on the fence about it. This is an extremely beginner friendly gym that will allow you to learn Jiu Jitsu in an extremely safe environment.
All 3 of my kids have been taking classes at Steadfast since it opened and have brought many of their friends with them. We love the positive and inclusive vibe of the instructors who are also extremely structured and have high expectations of their students. My kids have advanced in their marital arts practice over the years and it’s helped them build confidence and strength that’s invaluable as they mature into their teenage years.
Steadfast is one of the best gyms I’ve ever trained at. This gym has provided me a sense of community through the people here, everyone creates a welcoming and supportive environment, where everyone pushes each other to be better, regardless of skill level. The training sessions are challenging and well-structured, with experienced coaches who are dedicated to helping you grow both physically and mentally. It's a place where I feel motivated, connected, and constantly improving.
Steadfast is awesome!! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place and the amazing team here.
Coaches Caleb and Anita are so warm and welcoming. They’re both so attentive during the class and really provide you with individualized feedback throughout to help you progress. Every class is filled with fun situational drills and I’ve really noticed a difference in my jiu jitsu with just a few months of being part of the team! They even both came to support and coach me during my competition matches.
The facility is so clean and has a lot of great amenities to take advantage of like a sauna and ice bath.
The team of people who train there are also super friendly and there are a good amount of women to train with!
I highly recommend coming to check it out :)
I’ve been training Jiu Jitsu at Steadfast since day one. The atmosphere is always great. Lots of good people of all levels from beginners to advanced. Caleb is a great coach who is passionate about Jiu Jitsu.
The gym is clean with two mat spaces, one downstairs and one upstairs. There’s a weightlifting area, bathrooms, a shower, and even a sauna.
Location is convenient with lots of parking.
I highly recommend Steadfast Martial Arts.
I can't recommend this gym enough. There are people at all different skill levels and competitiveness so you're guaranteed to find good training partners. There are beginner's classes and the coach keeps up on the meta game and pedagogy so you'll get good instruction no matter your skill level. The wrestling coach has great attention to detail and the general stand-up game is a higher level than most gyms. The head coach wants bjj to be accessible to all and ensures that his gym is inclusive to all financial situations.
My son LOVES it here. SUPERB COACHES. Monday- Thursday and Saturday. Keeps him busy while learning jujitsu and muay tai. Very good for beginners and all ages. Love everything about steadfast. Definitely recommend
Amazing academy! Caleb and his team is an incredibly passionate group of people. This school is still relatively new but the growth is a testament to the quality of instruction and the support system that the team has created. As a bjj coach myself, I couldn’t recommend this place more. If I have my students moving to Richmond, you bet Caleb is who I’ll be sending them to.
I’ve trained at a lot of places and I can honestly say this gym has the most beautiful atmosphere of any place I’ve ever been. The cathedral ceilings, wooden rafters and skylights are pretty but the truly beautiful thing is how the instructors interacted with the students. Coach Caleb is so so generous with his time and knowledge! He was very patient and kind while helping me with the techniques. I really noticed how he gave equal attention to his both his experience students and his beginners, which is a very good quality in an instructor. As I left, I saw the kids classes starting up and honestly wish I could have joined lol because they were having so much fun XD. It was very cool to see how he incorporates jiu jitsu movements into exciting games that keep the kids engaged! I will definitely be going back. If you are anywhere even remotely close to this place I would definitely check them out!
My son is taking Kid ju jitsu with Coach Caleb. The Coach is very friendly, professional, and very patient with kids. He has a lot of activities for kids to learn and stay discipline/focus. I can tell how much my son enjoys every class and he gets better with fitness and technique after each class. The studio is very clean, everyone wears mask and the rate is very reasonable for three days a week. Highly recommended
Beautiful gym filled with strong community and instructors who really look out for you. There’s growth with every class and if you are looking for a place to start your jiujitsu journey especially in a safe environment I highly recommend Steadfast. First class is free! And Caleb is really great at pinpointing your weaknesses and uplifting your strengths within Jiujitsu. There is also workout equipment and more classes coming in the future. There’s also a women's class that happens every Thursday at 5:30 pm. Friendly to all folxs I definitely recommend to my family and friends.
Steadfast is an amazing gym that offers a welcoming environment and a humble, growth-based culture. No huge egos. It is a great place for both beginners and advanced practitioners of Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. They offer gi and nogi classes, women’s classes, as well as wrestling-focused classes. The instructors are kind and patient. It is a great learning environment. Couldn’t recommend Steadfast enough.
Steadfast is a small but mighty community of humble practitioners of Jiu Jitsu, Muy Thai and Wrestling. All of the coaches there really put their heart into teaching the classes. They care about their students well being and growth and push them to get out of their comfort zones.
The place is spacious and clean. They have a large mat space downstairs and another space upstairs. It's right off the Central Ave freeway exit and has plenty of parking.
The community of practitioners are great, super humble, and also highly competitive when rolling. No egos, only great rolls!
I would definitely recommend this place to any youth, beginners or even experienced practitioners.
Top notch gym, with amazing instructors. Classes are great for experienced practitioners, yet comprehensive enough that a brand new student can hop right in. Can't recommend this gym enough!!!
Highly recommended martial arts school if you’re a beginner or experienced Jiu-Jitsu/Muay Thai practitioner. Caleb, Anita, and Jon have created a welcoming and family oriented academy to train at.
Brand new facility with quality Dollamur mats for Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai classes, there are (2) training spaces, a larger area downstairs and a smaller area upstairs. Also they are equipped with a weight training area.
Caleb and Anita are one of the coolest jiu-jitsu instructors you’ll meet, as well as Jon who teaches Muay Thai. Solid crew.
Right off the freeway so access to the gym is very convenient.
All instructors are really nice and patient. They take the time to make sure everyone understands the techniques and make it a very welcoming environment to returning BJJ students as well as someone that just wants to try it out.
