My first foray into practicing BJJ lead me to Sektor Jiu Jitsu. I had scouted other locations, even ones within minutes of my home. Sektor happened to be five minutes from my office so I had stopped by after work one day to gather more information. Spencer greeted me at the door and persuaded me into trying a class for free and I will say I was hooked immediately. Spencer took his time during lecture to teach technique and explain how the motions contributed to the overall application of the technique in a way that was not threatening or difficult to comprehend. When the class was applying what we had learned, Spencer went to each pair and offered bits of advice, sprinkled with praise where necessary. Do not take Spencer's kind demeanor as he is a pushover: he is a legitimate practitioner and a great professor.
For those with younger children who are considering the sport, his youth classes are amazing as he will roll with the kids and find ways to make it fun and engaging for them.
12/10 I would recommend this school to anyone interested in learning jiu jitsu
10/23/24 update - i am still here years later. Many familiar faces, many new faces, but we are all united by the appreciation of the sport and an amazing group of instructors. Sometimes Google Maps takes you the long way for seemingly no reason, other times it leads you to places where you make lifelong friends.

Amazing place for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! I have been training here for just over 4 years, and I consider this place my home. Everyone here is awesome (the front desk, instructors, students and parents!) I have considered moving out of town, but this place keeps me here. The owners bring in wrestling and judo instructors to make all the students (who want to take advantage of that) better. They could just sit back and stick to BJJ; but, they care about their students and their Jiu Jitsu journey. I have gone from blue belt to brown belt under Spencer, and I hope to have him wrap a black belt around me one day. You won’t find a better school. Come train with us!
I have an eight-year-old granddaughter that we signed up here. She absolutely loves it. People are super friendly, caring, Patient and very knowledgeable in the martial Arts teachings. I highly recommend.

To start off, I live in Texas and was down for the holidays visiting family. It had been a few days since I have gotten in a roll and need to get one in. I looked up local gyms in the area and came across Sektorbjj. When I came to roll I showed up to a fundamentals class, (all white belts) I am a blue belt. No big, always good to slow it down and get back to the basics! The class was very well taught and when it was time to roll I rolled with one of their more advanced white belts. After that I rolled with the two main instructors. They made sure I got in some good rounds!!! They also made me feel right at home! Thank you Sektorbjj for taking me in and treating me like family! Anytime I come to visit family in the future, I will most definitely be coming back here to get some rounds in for sure! OSS!

This place is amazing. Spencer and Andrew do a great job teaching not only competition BJJ but also skills to help in real life. The kids get a to learn a sport, get a workout, make friends, have fun all in a safe environment. Since I have joined I also get to train along side of my son. I escorted a friend here last year to his first class, because we all know how daunting it can be to step into the unknown especially by yourself, and although I was just a visitor at the time I felt a positivity and welcoming that not every gym does right. I've been training for 10 years now and have visited many gyms so I hope it may add more weight to my experience here at Sektor Corona.
I returned a year later by chance to raise my first child, and I didn't really give it a second thought to return here so long as the instructor who I met that first time was still here; which he was just as great as before. Thanks for the class Spencer and looking forward to getting some great training here!
Aside from the vibe, I also believe the facilities to be pristine, and more than enough mat space for everyone to safely participate, and even a separate gym with weights/dumb bells.

I started training at Sektor this past October while I was waiting for my visa to be able to go back home, since the first day I felt like I was training with people that I knew for years. Everyone makes you feel good and there’s a great friendly environment.

My kids love Sektor. We have three boys that play hockey, so we were looking to add some agility to thier game. We walked in for the first lesson and my boys were hooked. The training is great and the atmosphere is really fun for them. They didn't have any experience at all, and they were welcomed with open arms. The staff is really friendly and great with the kids. I had my first training today, It was a very welcoming atmosphere and I recommend it for everyone. I went into this having not worked out in at least a year, had to sit out a couple times and even had to stop at the end due to asthma. but that was ok. I could tell it wasn't a judgey place and had a real family vibe to it. Everyone from the instructor to the participants are really welcoming and make sure you are comfortable. Really amazing place.

I stopped in here during the holidays (I live/train in TN) and this gym welcomed me with open arms. Spencer was the coach and ran a fantastic class. He clearly has a great appreciation for details and was very helpful with his tips. While not the biggest gym, they do have some great guys who train there and I left wishing I had more time to spend in Corona. Unfortunately I was only able to make it to one class but I will definitely be back in the future when I am in town next!

It's one thing to be passionate about martial arts, but it is always a plus to have instructors that are equally as passionate about also, but even more so about teaching it. Albert and Spencer are those type of instructors. Jiu jitsu is awesome and Sektor Corona is second to none.

This is a great academy with the best atmosphere to learn and develop in your Jiu Jitsu journey. Spencer and Albert are both very technical and detailed in teaching and very approachable. I took almost 5 years off and I am very lucky and to have found this school. My 12 year old son learns with me on the weekends as well and he loves going and It is a great learning grounds not just for adults but for kids and teens as well.

Great place for the whole family to learn jiu-jitsu. My 7 and 10 year old boys have trained jiu-jitsu for approximately 3 yrs and they love it. Spencer is very good with kids and my boys really like learning from him. He is patient and works with the boys to help sharpen the skills that they have known for years. Albert is also very patient and laid back. They both have really easy going personalities, which makes training and learning fun. I'm a big believer in doing your homework before picking a place. Spencer is a brown belt under Gabriel Costa and Sean Roberts at Ralph Gracie Chino Hills/Sektor Jiu-Jtsu. They are both high-level black belts. Albert Khait is a black belt under Bruno Fernandes, who is a high level competitor and world renowned BJJ instructor (gave black belt to George St-Pierre). This place is a brand new building in a new commercial/residential complex. The location is extremely clean and safe, which is good for women and children. Several food and drink locations nearby to kill time while kids are training. Do your research, but this place won't disappoint.

I recently trained at this gym in Corona and they had a very clean/welcoming atmosphere. I like when you walk into a gym and you immediately feel comfortable training. The teachers there are also very focused on helping you understand how a technique works. They also have a clean bathroom so that's also a plus. I think whether you are a competitor or someone who just wants to have fun and train this place is one of those safe havens. Oh, and you can wear any color gi. Just saying. See you on the mats!

Spencer is skilled bjj practitioner and awesome teacher. He has trained both myself and my son. He makes BJJ fun for my son, and manages to teach him what he needs to know at the same time. This is not an easy task. Whe. He teaches adults, me, spencer is very detail oriented and explains technique in an easy to understand and practical way. I highly recommend learning bjj from Spencer. He can give you what you want out if bjj, from a fun relaxing time, to competitive bjj.

The instruction they give is too notch and I love coming here to roll with my fellow students. They put on great kids classes as well. Was disappointed coming to sektor jiu jitsu . Personally for me if I was an instructor and a new student came on the mat I would watch over them. Why ?
Because they have a higher chance of getting hurt, they don’t know what they’re doing , ect. There were a few students who were “problematic” have a hard time paying attention and that’s okay but if you know that they struggle to focus and do the moves the instructor or helper should watch over them. My son would get kicked, have his face scratched and kids pinch him and they do nothing. I stoped my son personally mid sparring because I didn’t send my son to be a punching bad.
Now my other problem was Andrew . He plays favoritism and it shows . He won’t say anything about my son getting kicked and scratched but he’s not doing and gets all mad . I’m all for discipline and making sure kids are focused but his teaching just rubs me the wrong way and him specifically is why I won’t come back .

It’s unfortunate that I’m writing this review. Yes, it’s important to do your own research. But I hope that this review will give other parents a warning.
First, if you are waiting for your kids, the place got hot and uncomfortable for some reason. They had to turn on their big fans and open their doors. And it’s spring time.
Secondly, the instructors were not attentive to the students who are new to the class. Both of my kids are novice and both of them got hurt. Especially my daughter, they put her against a more advanced kid. My daughter got her arm in an armbar and almost seriously got hurt. When I ask about the incident, they told me that the other girl didn’t hear my daughter tap out. And she didn’t hear my daughter’s shoulder pop, so she should be “ok.” When you sign those waivers, this is one of the incident that will happen to your child.
So, if you’re ready for your child to get hurt. Bring them over to this school. For sure, you will not be disappointed.
