Great place with even greater people, you’re guaranteed to learn some neat tricks whether you’re beginner or have been rolling for a while. 10/10 would recommend. p.s. I thought the ‘free trial’ would last a day, but it turned out to be a week 🙂
Awesome and friendly atmosphere! Visited all the local schools and School has friendly , and expert coaches. Classes are going on all day , great, fun , and welcoming place to learn.
Love this place so much that the entire family trains here. Great classes from kids to adults for jiu-jitsu and kickboxing. Can't recommend this place enough.
This is the second school that me and my son go to, a lot of kids, also adults. Coaches are very nice, teach us good techniques and concepts. And their way to teach that prevents students get hurt.
Super welcoming. Very high level jiu jitsu and always welcoming when I'm in town. It's my bjj home away from home. Great culture and very clean too
great team, staff and coaching! Easy parking and great facilities!
Coaches are great, friendly and knowledgeable. They are great with kids. Facilities are well maintained and clean. IT DOES NOT SMELL. They have clean restrooms and also dressing rooms. They have a water fountain with the option to refill water bottles. Temperature is maintained in an comfortable level. They have fast guest wifi . Only Con of this place is everyone once in a while parking can be problem. If you arrive early it's usually not an issue.
Coaches are very detail oriented. With great and insightful training partners. Room is great for beginners to advanced as well. i’ve learned something new and improved on my skill drastically since training here
My son is currently enrolled at this gym. He loves it! The techniques and disciplines are very well implemented. Highly recommended!
This must be the best gym in the area! Clean and beautiful facility. Nice staff and everyone is super helpful!
I always look forward to coming here. The coaches and community are awesome, and the facility is super nice and clean. You will learn a lot, make friends, and get a great workout in!
I can't say enough great things about this academy. The coaches and facility are absolutely amazing. Prior to joining School BJJ, I spoke with several other academies in my area and my family and I couldn't be happier with the decision of joining this one. They have multiple coaches teaching each kids class to ensure the safety of the little ones. My kids love the experience and look forward to training each day. Thank you School BJJ!
This school is so warm and welcoming, and at the same time provides great coaching in a fun structured environment for kids. My 9 daughter loves the warmups, the instruction and then practice, and then pairing up for sparring. I was so surprised that she liked it! I love that there isn’t the obvious hierarchy and obedience to a master like in other martial arts. She has fun and loves it.
All of the coaches are not only experienced but hands on. My 11 year old son comes out of his class drenched and tired but most importantly he comes out with accomplishment.
This is one of the best martial arts studios I've been too. The environment is very friendly and open. It allows for such great learning experiences. That being said a competitive atmosphere is also present which is excellent because it helps me become better. As a plus, they have children's classes and my son really enjoys going and is developing confidence and strength he didn't know he had.
Great place to start learning BJJ. The instructors are very knowledgeable and the students are very helpful.
I enrolled my Boys into the kick boxing with Coach Oscar and the Jiu Jitsu with Coaches Royce and Nancy during the summer and couldn't be happier.....well, less costly would make me happier but not at the expense of the quality training and clean establishment :) FYI Kick Boxing is an "adult class" and as such Teens are allowed ONLY with the Coaches approval. My boys loved the Kick Boxing and can't wait to return, after we take care of some important matters.
I’ve been training at SCHL for about 7 months now and I have had nothing but good experiences from the high quality instruction, helpful staff, and accommodating business owner. The community here is very positive and friendly. All my training partners are humble and are primarily concerned with improving their own skills while also bringing the skill levels of other training partners as well. There isn’t anyone with a ego trying to beat up others to prove they are the best. I primarily take the adult jiu jitsu classes here but I also regularly attend the judo class and sometimes will attend the kickboxing class. Jiu Jitsu classes are broken up into 3 skill levels: basics, fundamentals, and advanced. Basics is for the complete beginner and is mostly made up of learning defense, pinning an opponent to gain control, and some basic submissions. There isn’t any sparring in the basics class. Fundamentals assumes you have some knowledge of jiu jitsu and the instructor will dive into some key details to help improve your technique through teaching, positional training, and a little drilling. This class is around teaching sport jiu jitsu. The advanced class will usually comprise of learning 1 or 2 submissions to finish an opponent building off the controls that were learned in the fundamentals class along with live sparring. Judo is great for anyone trying to learn takedown techniques and has a good balance of learning the judo throws, sparring, and setups to land your throws. Kickboxing is great if you want to improve your conditioning but also teaches you footwork, defense, counters, and different attacks for striking. Also a little bit of live sparring occasionally here. Overall, awesome experience and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn martial arts at a friendly and positive environment!
This academy is one of the best places to learn the martial art of Jiu-Jitsu. I have been training Jiu-Jitsu for 8 years now and the past 3 years have been here. It is a family friendly environment that caters to all skill levels of kids and adults. The academy is big and clean. Two separate mat spaces to run simultaneous classes. The coaches are very adept and knowledgeable. They keep the kids fully engaged and provide a fun and safe place for them. The academy is owned by a man of high character. He has been learning Jiu-Jitsu for 15 years now and is always looking for more knowledge to teach the students. He has brought in World Champions for seminar because we are all students in Jiu-Jitsu and his thirst to learn from them is insatiable. He is a certified strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer to many high level and professional athletes. He teaches technique that is fit for all levels and his attention to detail is outstanding. The academy also offers kick boxing 4 times a week as well. It is a good workout and worth checking out. Come by. Give it a try. It's an awesome place that my family and I are proud to be a part of and enjoy our time that is spent here.
Instructors and students that make you feel like family. Wide variety of classes, belt colors and age. Great school, if you're thinking of even trying out BJJ come give a free class a try.
Great school for self defense.. coaches are great and treats everyone like family
I don't understand why there is even a jujitsu school like this. I'm am beyond confused. I walked in thinking that this was going to be some dirty and poorly maintained school. I don't get why the mats are always CLEAN. My first class was NOT what I expected. I didn't even get beaten up. What I don't appreciate is Professor Ben taking the time to demonstrate PROPERLY the techniques down to the smallest details. I don't care about learning things the RIGHT way. I was expecting to just be thrown onto the mat and get my butt whooped. It did not happen because all coaches and students are TOO helpful. I don't know about you, but I'm not looking for a productive, healthy, and encouraging learning environment. I'm leaving this 5 star review because I am just SHOCKED with how this place is not a tough and intimidating atmosphere. Because of this, I'm staying here, trapped, because I have too good a time here and will never leave this place. I guess I will never be able to experience a 1 star jujitsu school. Enjoy your 5 star review. Good luck getting me to change my mind to give you a 1 star.
Great place to do jiu jitsu. good people and great training area plenty of parking and plenty of mat space.
I've been training at this school since it first opened. Professor Ben and Bert, coach Josh, Leo and Ji are the most welcoming kind people you'll ever meet! Their patience, kindness, and willingness to help a student is one of a kind! The positive atmosphere of the school reflects a very selfless demeanor that gives definition to the school. Technique, skill, and fluidity are the 3 marks that represent the students and instructors here. Definitley recommend if you're around the San Gabriel Valley/626 area!
Great Instructors. Great Environment. Come Train. You won't regret it.
