I've been training at Saga since October 2021. Great gym and amazing work out environment. Kyle, Maida and Danny are exceptional instructors and each brings their own unique understanding of jiu-jitsu and how to approach teaching it. Can't recommend this gym enough to anyone looking to start learning BJJ.
Saga jiu jitsu has an amazing team and culture! Kyle provides an optimal training environment for all grapplers. If you are an upper weight training in the area saga is one of the best places to be, few gyms anywhere have the same amount practice partners available.
I trained at Saga for a few years, from Blue to Purple belt and can speak from experience when i say it’s a great gym with great people running it. Theres a whole wealth of experienced coaches, from real solid fundamentals, to high level wrestling coaches, leg lock experts and choke experts. There is a lot to be gained as far as Jiu Jitsu knowledge in this gym. Great room for both competitors and hobbyists alike. If you want some tough rounds and competition prep, thats available. If you want to just learn from highly experienced people and do it casually then thats available too. I recommend anyone who's into BJJ checking it out.
I had the privilege of stopping by for an open mat recently and was shown nothing but respect coming from another gym. I let everyone know before rolling that I’ve only trained the last 6 months. Everyone was super understanding of that and let me practice the skills I did know. On and off the mat, I was indulge in some conversations in between rounds talking to some of the Saga members about jiujitsu and stuff outside of it. All genuine and kind individuals, including the owner
The guys at Saga are a standup crew, clearly experienced and knowledgeable in grappling, but most importantly welcoming and respectful of everyone that comes to train.
Very friendly staff, Top of the line instructors,If you're a big guy who's interested in martial arts, It's a must go
Not an official saga member but I drop in occasionally. Never have I had an issue with anyone in the gym but instead they are very welcoming. Quality training and classy people.
I’ve been training here since the old ownership. Since these guys took over they have made some awesome improvements to benefit the students. By far the best part of this gym is the culture. and the fact that your training partners and more specifically coaches care about your well being. In my experience these guys have not only watched but been a huge part of my growth on and off the mats.
I came across Saga when one of their owners came into an open mat locally. After having one of my most humbling rolls in a while, he was open and honest with feedback on how I did. Since then I have attended seminars, open mats, and events at Saga. It's always welcoming, challenging, and filled with great people to train with. I highly suggest it for people looking for a gym in the area.
It’s easy to get lost looking for a new hobby, especially with the mcdojos that clog up search engines looking for a quick buck. Not Here. Visited Saga recently and was blown away by the facility. What you will find here is the following: Caring, Competitive Coaches. Ones that will do their best to work with you to be the best jiu jitsu player you can be. Each coach specializes in their own style of jiu jitsu. Though it will never feel gimmicky, but more personalized. Friends, who will turn into family - Every student I had met at saga quickly became a friend of mine. Even after class we would talk about details in the class or just life in general. There was never a cold interaction. A spacious facility - Saga has not 1 but 2 training mats, with that they have a spacious changing room, bathroom, and even a weight room (though I did not have the chance to try it) A competitive history: one of the first things you may notice is the walls covered in medals and trophies. Though competition isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, it’s nice to see the passion within the school and how the school collectively works as a team in higher stakes environments like competitions. Thank you again for having me in, and I will be sure to be back.
One of the best things I’ve done is join Saga. Kyle and Maida take the time to personally understand each individuals goals and what they are looking to get out of their jiu jitsu experience. The gym has a diverse variety of students and offer different classes that fit everyone’s needs (no gi/gi, beginner, advanced, open mat, wrestling, Q&A, etc). All of the members and coaches make it clear that when you join Saga, you are now part of a family.
Some of the best people and coaches out there. Tough, high level room, where you get the attention you need to learn and succeed.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced practitioner, Saga stands out as a premier destination for top-notch BJJ training in the Bux-Mont / Philly area
Saga jujitsu gave me the competition abilities i never had as a kid! There’s always a black belt on the mat and someone to answer questions when you need it! I’ve competed 4 times now and I’ve had a coach beside be every time at places as far as 2 hours away! I couldn’t ask for a better place to train! Everyone here is friendly and supportive, you couldn’t ask for a better room of people!
The best gym in the area period. You get to work with the best team of professionals that pays very close attention to every student.
I’ve been a member since October 2022 and have never once thought to look anywhere else for instruction. Amazing teachers with bounds of knowledge on but not limited to, competing and jiu jitsu itself. Gender and size is irrelevant as they are extremely welcoming to everyone. 10/10
Phenomenal place, ran by great instructors and competitors at a very high level. Cannot go wrong if you’re in the area come check out Saga and see what they’re about for yourself.
I’ve been a member at SAGA since about September 2022, and I cannot recommend them enough. Kyle was really friendly and made it easy to get started, all the black belts are super cool. Training there has been a huge privilege and I am always challenged and pushed to be better by pretty much everyone there. The more experienced guys are super welcoming and always offering knowledge, and everyone seems to check their ego at the door. Being part of this community has been great for me physically and mentally. 11/10 gym to train at.
Solid place to train. Visited the area for work. Super hospitable. Awesome instructors and a great group of people to learn from and train with.
I’ve been going to ‘Saga’ for years now, and Saga has become a second home for me, like it has for many others! Ive met so many great people from all walks of life, who are looking to find a new an exciting hobby, but end up finding a great community to be part of. Everyone is super helpful, humble, and trains super hard. Coaching is top notch and they really want the best for their students. Highly recommend.
Dropped in while visiting family and had great training! Will definitely be back
Such a great atmosphere here. Very welcoming and friendly, and caters to hobbyists and competitors. I drop in here every time I’m in town for work, and would definitely train here full time if I lived in the area. Great group of instructors and students.
Would never thought I would be training BJJ. I jumped in not knowing what to expect, with no experience. I called the gym and spoke to Kyle to get information about Saga Jiu Jitsu. He was very pleasant and invited me to a Thursday class that he was teaching. Went to the class as total beginner and got hooked ASAP. Everyone was welcoming, A real community. Everyone training and working together, no matter what level you are. The coaches, Kyle, Meida, Joe, Danny and Paul are great, very humble, and are always willing to take the time to answer a question or go over something you don’t understand. They also have different styles, so decades and abundance of knowledge to develop your BJJ craft. It will be the best decision you made. For one price, you can go to all classes 7 days a week. I highly recommend Saga Jiu Jitsu for anyone. You’re welcome.
I tried the free week six months ago and have been coming every week since. This is a great gym full of supportive and friendly people with knowledgeable coaches and a great atmosphere. This was my first experience with jujitsu and it’s one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done. If you have ever been interested in trying this sport, it is absolutely worth it.
I started training at Saga in October of 2021 at the age of 35 with no experience in martial arts or wrestling, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. Saga’s instructors have been patient and thorough and the members are helpful and supportive. I’ve learned a lot and been pushed hard, even competing in some local tournaments, all while never feeling unsafe or like I didn’t belong. If you’ve been thinking about training, just do it, and do it here. The quality of instruction, the culture, and camaraderie are second to none.
Started training at Saga 4 weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier! The instructors are incredible and the other students are friendly and helpful.
Training at Saga has been a fantastic experience! Aside from the high level instruction, the gym houses a great culture that you'd be hard pressed to find at other gyms. All members are friendly, welcoming and willing to help. The training space is big and always clean. I would highly recommend Saga to anyone starting or continuing their BJJ journey!
You could not ask for a better environment, to learn a martial art, than the one that Saga Jiu-jitsu. All the higher belts are eager to help the lower belts. All of the coaches show legitimate interest in all of their pupils. The best around. No question 👌
Known these guys for years! No better way to start training or if you already have experience. Get in and change your life!
I've been training at Saga for the last several months learning No-Gi jiu jitsu with Danny, Kyle, and Meida. The coaches and all the members have been incredibly welcoming of a white belt to the sport and have helped me to develop my skills and game fast. Beginner's No-Gi class on Monday with Danny has been great to learn different sequences to attack and defend out of different positions, and combining that with the Saturday question and answer class has helped me to get plenty of reps applying what I'm learning with Danny. I couldn't recommend Saga more to someone looking to start training BJJ!
This is the 2nd ever gym that I tried out and definitely the best! You know the gym is good when the owners don’t need to advertise it and yet people still are coming in frequently. I’ve been here for a year and some months, training partners are great. They have classes for everyone. I’m glad I managed to come across this place. Try a class out you won’t regret it!
I stumbled into this gym about 3 years ago and it was one of the best things I have ever done. This gym is run by some of the most passionate teachers/ black belts in the area. Absolutely no egos at this gym come check it out and meet some cool people.
Great place with a welcoming staff and friendly members.
After a 12 year break from bjj due to family and career I was cautious about making a come back. The best part of bjj is it's alway there waiting for you, and the right gym makes all the difference. This gym is top notch training, great people and diverse team members. I felt immediately at home and welcome and my fitness level has greatly improved over the last year. I recommend to anyone interested in the sport or wishing they never left.
Outstanding, welcoming environment, appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. The coaches and athletes are very friendly and knowledgeable. It is a very clean and highly maintained facility. I recommend this to anyone interested in fitness, bjj, or any combination in between.
Fantastic knowledgeable coaching with an exciting welcoming yet challenging Atmosphere! Jason is very motivated to see you do well!
Great training for both beginners and those who are more advanced. The classes are focused and collaborative. The students are awesome too - no big egos.
