Professor Roger Machado brings a unique “art of movement” approach to his teaching. It was inspiring to watch his private lessons with the legendary Dan Inosanto, who was 80 years of age at the time. I was impressed by Roger’s zen like flow and relaxed deliver of the art. A approach to the art that is crucial if you are looking for a lifetime on the mat. He is a master teacher and also a historical part of first generation Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in America. I highly recommend!

This jiu-jitsu gym is fantastic! The environment is top-notch, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Plus, the owner is not only incredibly nice but also boasts an impressive coral belt in jiu-jitsu, which speaks volumes about their expertise. A great place to train and grow as a martial artist.

This place is the best honestly. Yeah the price maybe higher than if you sign up for another martial arts school but roger machado is a nice guy and he is very detailed in how he teaches the techniques. So far I’ve been here 2 times this week and I’m already hooked onto it

The Roger Machado Jiu-Jitsu Academy provides the best training and conditioning I have ever experienced in my life and I am willing to wager that this establishment is the best in the state. Master Machado is highly skilled and very friendly. He is an excellent teacher who takes the time to make sure each student understands the techniques while placing a strong emphasis on safety.

I have been a Student of Master Machado for now 3 months and I couldn’t be happier. Master Machado always takes his time to teach the techniques and making sure everyone gets it. Every other students I’ve met have been very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Roger Machado’s classes, wether you are a beginner or an advanced student, Gi and No-Gi classes are awesome relaxed and sometimes challenging but always good vibes. I originally intended to assist 2 classes a week but I’m completely hooked and I’m now going to 5. I will see you on the mats !

Hi everyone posting the following from my husband, Dan Inosanto “I HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF TRAINING WITH ROGER MACHADO STARTING IN 1996. HE HAS GIVEN ME NUMEROUS PRIVATES LESSONS IN BOTH BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU AND YOGA JIU JITSU. I FOUND HIM TO BE A VERY COMPASSIONATE AND CARING TEACHER WITH THE ABILITY TO BREAKDOWN THE MOST COMPLEX TECHNIQUES IN BJJ SO THAT MY BODY TYPE WOULD ABLE TO PERFORM THE TECHNIQUE AND TACTIC HE TAUGHT. HE HAS THE UNIQUE ABILITY TO DEVELOP BJJ TACTICS THAT FIT YOUR AGE AND ABILITY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANY PERSON INTERESTED IN TRAINING IN BJJ.” Dan INOSANTO , Founder & Head Instructor The INOSANTO Academy Of Martial Arts, Marina del Rey California

I highly recommend Master Roger Machado and Machado Jiu Jitsu! I am new to Brazilian jiu jitsu and Master Machado has made the experience challenging but very fun and non-intimidating! He is very patient and clearly loves teaching. I am confident that Master Machado is among the best jiu jitsu teachers for every level of practitioner. I look forward to continue training with him.

Not only is this a Roger Machdo school, but it's a school where Roger Machdo is actually teaching the classes. It's amazing to actually learn directly from a Brazilian jiu jitsu legend and coral belt. Master Machado's teaching style is very detailed oriented, and he really pays close attention to everyone's safety, as well. Everyone at the school is friendly and helpful, and it's been the best learning experience I've had.

I started training with Roger Machado about five years ago. I had known about the school for a long time but procrastination got in the way and I passed by for years without going in. I regret not joining years earlier. Roger Machado is an excellent instructor and fosters a great environment at his school. The other students are extremely friendly and helpful. I never felt like I was fresh meat for the more experienced students when I first started. An excellent place to train for both beginners and more advanced students.

Master Machado brings nearly unrivaled experience, a sterling lineage, good humor, and a love of teaching the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He also creates an environment that allows people to feel like they can grow and prosper, while still challenging the students to achieve greater mastery of the art.

Learn from Master Roger Machado of the legendary Machado Brothers! I've been coming to this school for over 10 years, and had been practicing martial arts including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 10 years before that. It is rare to find such a great community with a true master teaching who cares so much about his students. Come try a class!

Master Roger has been nothing short of amazing. Been coming here since the pandemic and it is beyond a bjj school. Everyone helps each other grow and as someone who’s just returning from a long hiatus, I love the family and the growth has been so fast. Highly recommend anyone who’s wanting to learn, grow, and do it in a safe environment!

I have been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Master Machado for over two years. Roger and his students continue influencing my life in positive ways and inspiring me to be better. Because the academy is small, the training is tailored to each individual student. Come in for a free intro class, the environment is safe and welcoming!

I am glad to have found RCJ Machado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Professor Machado is a first class instructor whether the student is a child, an aspiring competitor, or a senior looking to exercise. He instills in his students a sense of cooperation and friendship, but woe to those who fail to check their egos at the door! If you are interested in learning a martial art which includes invigorating exercise, take up Professor Machado’s offer of a free lesson!

As a senor citizen, this is the ideal martial art to learn. Professor Roger Machado goes out of his way to make Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to be enjoyable as beneficial in the academy's friendly environment. Respect and Safety are just as important in the art as being competitive. The RCJ Machado Academy isn't just a martial art academy, it becomes a lifestyle of positive growth. Thank you Professor Machado!

Professor Roger Machado is very welcoming and an excellent teacher. He explains things well and takes the time to work with every student on an individual basis, no matter what the level of experience is. He really cares and is there to help, the camaraderie within the academy is a reflection of Roger's style of teaching. I couldn't imagine learning jiu jitsu from a better teacher!

So far so good. I started my first week, people are very nice and accommodating. Professor Roger is pretty good explaining techniques and patient with newbies. The only con I think with this gym is that it is kinda small since the number of students are growing.
