Ric is the real deal. I have been training with him for years and he is always happy to instruct, explain, or give me the push I need to grow as a human and in BJJ. In addition, he also trained my three kids for years. Thank you Coach Ric for everything you do for the community!

RCBJJ is the BEST Jiu Jitsu school in Chandler! My 9yo son started there almost a year and a half ago and has absolutely become obsessed with all things BJJ thanks to Coach Ric! The positive, fun, family environment of the school give the students the desire the be better and work harder each day.

Great place for adults and kids! I joined in January and love the cardio, skills and camaraderie of the other students. My sons saw how much I was enjoying it and improving my confidence that they asked to join in June. The coach is an excellent teacher and my sons really love going to class and try to never miss a day. They especially like Friday kid classes where they play games. Highly recommend to all ages if you're looking to learn a new skill, get a great workout and have fun!

Ric and everyone here are some of the most humble, kindest people I’ve ever encountered in my life. Ric is the best teacher, he is passionate beyond belief about Jiu Jitsu and has created an establishment that drives you to feel the same. It’s a true opportunity to be able to come here everyday, it feels like a second home.

Great instruction! Professor Ric is an awesome teacher and coach and a true professional with a passion for teaching. Great training partners with no Egos to help each other learn and grow. Clean and comfortable mats. Take a trial class, be healthy, be happy. Come check it out!

Awesome place to go to if you want a place to learn Brazilian Jiujitsu. Environment of the academy is friendly and everyone leaves their ego at the door. Amazing place definitely should give it a try if you’re looking to learn Brazilian Jiujitsu in Chandler. P.S. Heard the Professor is a professional at the dark arts (Wrist Locks)

Ric is a great teacher who spends the time to answer questions about techniques, does demos of the different variations explaining them, and guides students. It is a great place to learn and practice JiuJitsu with an experienced practitioner and a fantastic group of students. Look no further.

Have been with Ric since January of 2022 and I could not be happier with the decision that I made to dive head first into jiu jitsu! Ric is amazing with kids - fun, patient, and firm when needed. My kids love him and the other instructors there. They do a great job with all ages and accept kids as young as 4 years old. You can try out a FREE WEEK of classes (for kids or adults) - no strings attached and super fun. You should definitely check this place out!

This last weekend I traveled to Chandler from MN to visit a friend. While visiting, we were able to join Coach Ric's women's self defense class. In a word, it was terrific. In only two hours, we were able to learn and practice key skills to protect ourselves in various situations. I left feeling empowered, confident and prepared. If only I lived closer - I would sign my entire family up for classes at Ric Centron Jiu Jitsu Academy. Highly Recommended.

FANTASTIC WOMENS TEAM BUILDING OPTION - extremely professional, clean and very informative on realistic self defense situations that women in particular face. The instructors are real people with regular lives that don't oversell martial arts but rather help others bring balance and confidence into their lives.

I stopped by for a drop in session. I normally train in a tiny space in San Diego, so I was excited to see what a bigger space looked like! This gym did not disappoint. The mat was well sized and I appreciated the walkway around the entire mat. Everyone went through a quick disinfectant bath for their feet, which was a nice touch. I came at the end of the kids class and from my experience with both the kids class and the adult class, professor Centron really cares about his students. He spent the time to directly interact with every student. He did a great job explaining the technique for today and gave plenty of time for students to practice. He was very courteous, kind, and welcoming to the visiting students. I had a great time at the gym, learned some new techniques, and felt very comfortable even during my first session with professor Centron!

First time doing BJJ with no prior grappling experience and no friends in the sport. I live in the chandler area and decided to give it a try. Coach Ric is excellent at teaching the basics to beginners and has vast technical knowledge. The gym has a great culture and I am glad I joined. I have been doing BJJ for about 3 months at Coach Ric’s and have lost 30 lbs as of this week. The classes here are a great way to stay fit and challenge yourself. I highly recommend Ric Centron’s BJJ Academy!

This is a great place to learn! Ric is amazing with the kids class, very patient and the kids have a great time learning. The adult class is challenging and engaging for all belt levels. You can go 5 times a week if you want and if you are unsure, you can have a free week to try it out.

Just moved here to Arizona from upstate NY. I come from a Renzo Gracie academy and I have alot of years under my belt along with having trained at many different schools. This academy was one of the best atmospheres i have ever experienced. The level of talent with in his students and Rics passion for jiu jitsu is one that other level you would want in a jiu jitsu academy. I highly recommend this academy to anyone with experience in the art or if you are new to it and just wanna feel it out.

Over the last 2 years I've both learned from Ric and observed him teaching others. He instills discipline and confidence in the kids and adults he works with. The instruction and drills are engaging, and putting the moves into practice at the end of every class solidifies that knowledge base.

My daughters and I have been training with Ric for 2 years. I confidently send my girls to school knowing they can handle, and have handled situations, like bullying and defending others that lack the confidence my daughters have gained training jiu jitsu.
