Great instructors! Clean and safe environment. I visited with my 14 and 9 year old from Fort Lauderdale and was welcomed with open arms. Coach Gabriel, Professor Luca, Professor Mathaus and Coach Daniel are incredible. Thank you for allowing my kids to train for the week. They both enjoyed it and said they would definitely like to train there again.

Just got back into Gi training after like 10-15 years. Cool place. I do 6 am classes 2-3 times a week. Chill vibes and nice ppl. One of the top places I've trained so far. Tiago is a very patient and humble instructor - highly recommend!

I have been to multiple BJJ gyms in NYC and the key differentiator at Renzo BJJ (UWS Specifically) is that they value BJJ THEORY above PRACTICE. Instructors will spend 95% of class going over overly complex techniques, leaving 5 minutes to put it into practice. Some instructors are worse offenders of this than others. TO THE INSTRUCTORS OF Renzo BJJ UWS: Not everyone can afford to trek to the gym every single day and I would argue most are just there looking for simple yet effective techniques, and then TIME TO PRACTICE. The way current classes are structured is NOT conducive to students actually retaining anything. How do I know this? I have been training here for the past year and have learned NOTHING NEW BEYOND WHAT I LEARNED AT MY OTHER GYMS!!! (name is fake, feedback is not)

I'm from Canada, and was in New York for the week. I didn't want to miss out on training so I did a drop in class with no notice and they welcomed me with open arms. Professor Thiago is an excellent teacher and made the class very enjoyable, same goes for the fellow team mates. Thank you 🙏

Renzo Gracie UWS changed my life. I’m a 52 year old man with a hip replacement. If you are of my vintage and/or have a similar impediment and you have ever wondered if this is for you I have an unequivocal answer for you: yes. Joining the UWS Renzo Gracie academy was the best decision I’ve made in terms of my mental and physical health. It’s a super supportive group of people from a broad variety of places, professions, and interests. My 10 year old son also attends and I am 100% pleased with his participation and development. The coaches for kids and adults are world-class and welcoming for veterans and newcomers alike. If you’re on the fence you should take the risk and come in. You likely won’t regret it. That being said, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a very intense activity and a high intensity workout. You will be is very close physical contact for the majority of the class. It’s among the most exhausting and ultimately satisfying workouts you will ever have. If you love the first class, you might be hooked for life.
