My 4.5 year old son recently started the Jr Class twice weekly. I am so impressed with Playground Jiu Jitsu. The atmosphere and staff are wonderful. My son loves when he has class and asks daily when he can return. Vin does an amazing job at keeping my highly energetic 4.5 year old engaged and focused. I highly recommend bringing your child to a class to see for yourself!

Absolutely love training here. Everyone I've met at Playground Jiujitsu has been welcoming, supportive and great training partners. The coaches genuinely care about your progress, and the community feels like family. I bring my daughter to the children's classes and it has helped her grow tremendously both mentally and physically. A deeply personal thank you from my family and I. Training here has helped us a lot and we truly appreciate welcoming us into Playground Jiujitsu.

Playground Jiu Jitsu has been a great experience for me. The instructors Paulo and Vinny each have their own unique way of teaching which breaks down each move so that everyone can understand it from any level. All of the other students have been very warm and inviting and willing to help out. Wish I had found this place sooner. Highly recommend anyone interested in trying out a class to come on down.

Fantastic school! Paulo and Vin are both excellent and knowledgeable instructors with years of competition experience. Practices are very organized with lots of specific drilling followed by rounds. The facility is very clean. I love training here and encourage anyone who is interested to come check it out!

Such an exceptional gym. The 2 black belt brothers are so knowledgeable and encouraging, the whole place is kept so tidy and clean, and the guys (and gals) it attracts are the kind of guys you'd want in your life. I've been going for 2 years and my preschooler loves training there too. Check it out for free and you won't be disappointed!

The classes are perfectly paced so that the full duration is used wisely without any wasted time. Paulo and Vinny are excellent instructors who possess an incredible range of knowledge spanning from many different modern guards along with excellent top game passing. This is an all around great school if you're looking to start or continue your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey, cannot recommend Playground Jiu Jitsu enough.

Bilingual (English and Portuguese) available instruction, effective and precise situational drilling, clean, family oriented, fun, highly level training. Paulo and Vin Canabarro have experience at the highest level of jiujitsu competition and take pride in passing along their interpretation of the art. I triple dog dare you to come check them out.

Exceptional Jiu Jitsu academy with exceptional 2nd degree Black Belts with plenty of competition experience who know how to teach, challenge you, and provide a safe and respectful environment for all who show up. Classes start on time, very clean, showers available, professional yet personal, and overall amazing spot to train at!! Class schedule is phenomenal with mid day and evening classes as well holiday open mats and Saturday open mats .

Brazilian Playground Jujitsu is the best school in the area for all age groups, now with classes for children .. I have been training with them since 2019. Viny and Paulo are great instructors and they pay attention to the smallest details to make me better. .. a great place to have fun l, making friends and exercising

Great place, Great people! Very clean gym expert knowledge of the spot. I started in January and have never thought of stopping... even my 12 y/o daughter is enrolled in the kids classes. 100% have seen her growth on and off the mats. Couldn't recommend more, sign up for a free trial and find out yourself!!!

The best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school in RI. If you are looking for a school for your children this is the place, but if you are looking for high level competition you will also find it here. You will find everything you need here for your jiu jitsu needs, super professional and attentive coaches. You will definitely feel welcomed at Play ground Brazilian jiu jitsu. I recommend it.

Easily some of the top jiu jitsu in the state ! Paulo and Vinny are both long time competition guys and incredible coaches; their jiujitsu is extremely technical, solid, functional and smart. I have learned so much here !

I am a bjj brown belt (and former D3 collegiate wrestler) with over 10 years of training. Playground Jiu Jitsu offers a clean, safe, fun and competitive environment. The curriculum is strong from basic bjj fundamentals to the most advanced positions. I travel for my work and have trained at affiliate schools all over the country, including ATOS, Renzo Gracie, Robson Moura, GB and many independents. That being said, I would put the Canabarro brothers school, Playground Jiu Jitsu, right up there at the top of the list.

Playground Jiu Jitsu is one of the most inviting gyms in RI. The instructors, Paulo and Vin, teach a very detailed and technical class. They structure the classes so anyone with any rank can learn. Their students are very welcoming and there is no ego involved when training. Sparring is intense for those that want it. But at the same time the upper belts are very conservative if asked to be. The gym is immaculate and very very clean. Both myself and my wife train at the playground. We bring our kids some days and they sit in the waiting area where there are 2 couches and a TV so they can watch a show while we train, which is super convenient. They are a 10/10 establishment. Come train. You’ll love it.
