  I was visiting from out of town and dropped in for their Happy Hour session which was basically an in house open mat. The instructors, the owner and the students exuded hospitality and a welcoming attitude. Also very clean mats and facilities. I had a great time and I will definitely stop by if I’m in town again.

  We absolutely love Next Move Jiu Jitsu! This program has been so transformative for my kids. I've watched them grow not only in skill and confidence but also in discipline and respect. The entire coaching staff is incredible. Professor J, Coach Jason, Coach Yvonne, Coach Sarai, and Coach Jared , and the rest of the coach’s and staff are all amazing. They do a fantastic job of teaching technique while also making the classes fun and engaging. This school is more than just a place to learn Jiu Jitsu; it has become a true family for my kids. I couldn't be happier with our experience here. If you're looking for a top-notch Jiu Jitsu program for your children, you need to check out Next Move!

  I was in town for a conference and visited Next Move Jiu Jitsu to get some training in. I was extremely impressed with the instructors, facility, and school culture. The instructors I encountered where both knowledgeable and welcoming. I have been training for several years and have visited many schools during that time. If I lived in Rio Rancho this is the school I would train at full time.

  I am in town for a few days and I needed a place to train. This gym opened up their arms to me and created a great space to come learn and gain new knowledge. Professor Jeff taught a Gi ecological class and did so in a way that was easy to understand. Definitely recommend this place for great skill acquisition.

  I dropped in at Next Move Jiu-Jitsu while traveling east. What an amazing place! I was impressed as soon as I walk the door. They had a nice big space (2 mat areas). Everyone was as super friendly, fun and the instruction was too notch. Had a great 60 minute class and learned some new techniques. I highly recommend Next Move Jiu-Jitsu to anyone wanting to try Jiu Jitsu for the first time or to anyone traveling like me to just drop in. Drop in was free and they even provided me with a gi.   Next Move Ju Jitsu is hands down an exceptional place for kids to learn MMA and Ju Jitsu. The coaches are both polite and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for young athletes. My son had an incredible drop-in experience, and I was thoroughly impressed with how the coaches managed the classes. It's not just a place for physical exercise; it's a nurturing environment where kids can build confidence and develop life skills. Highly recommend bringing your kids here for an experience they won't forget!

  Wow! Absolutely blown away by Jason and his willingness to receive me into his school while visiting from West Palm Beach Fl. Not only was Jason friendly, he was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel right at home. I wish there were more BJJ schools like Next Move! Jason and his team went above and beyond and even stayed after to connect with me about all things jiu jitsu. Will totally be back!!

  We have two children who are Judo practitioners and they wanted to see what BJJ was like since there aren't pure Judo schools in Rio Rancho. The coaches here were accommodating and eager in sharing their knowledge with all students. The class size to instructors was well balanced with numerous assistant coaches guiding their actions. Everyone we talked to were great at explaining BJJ related concepts to our kids (ground game concepts are minimal in children's Judo). This is in direct contrast to other BJJ schools' children classes around Rio Rancho. Next Move was the last school we tried and apparently it was the best for last.

  NMJJ is a beautiful facility with coaches and owners that truly care about you experience. I have had the pleasure of visiting many training facilities around the US and NMJJ has a genuine feel the moment you walk through the door.   5 stars is not enough. Next Move jiu-jitsu has just been a blessing! Extremely clean and professional setup with absolutely amazing coaches. I've been to several gyms and none of them compare. Such a friendly environment, welcoming coaches and family like atmosphere with the parents and kids that are here. From all the other gyms I've been to this is by far the best technique, with the most advanced moves. My son is learning and growing so fast it's amazing to see. They are so talented at explaining and instructing the advanced moves that even I can understand and critique my son, it's amazing! They have a free week trial and if your kids are at another gym or thinking about joining, I suggest you try it out like I did. Once the word is out and people find this gem of a gym, they'll be at capacity. Give it a try, and trust me, you won't regret it!!!

  I had very minimal experience with Martial Arts but felt welcomed and at ease with Next Move Jiu Jitsu. Jason Howells has classes for all ages, children to Adults. He can assist in teaching basics or advanced moves and techniques. They are now including classes for wrestling, striking, and self-defense with no limit to how many you can attend. They regularly compete at local and Regional tournaments. I greatly enjoy the companionship and guidance I receive from this gym. Highly Recommend everyone to at least join for a few sessions. Iron Sharpens Iron.

  After having my kids in two different jiu jitsu schools, we’ve finally found the place for us! My kids have learned so much more in the short time they’ve been here and more than they’d learned in the last 2.5 years they’ve trained! I’m so grateful for Next Move they’ve been amazing for my sons.

  I was a drop in visitor for a week out in Albuquerque for Balloon Fiesta and the school was nothing more than inviting to visitors and quite incredible to talk to :) I was able to do no-gi but they have spare gis if I wanted to borrow it and I had excellent instructions from Barry and Chris for their classes. I got a few techniques that I was able to apply to my own gym in Virginia. I've visited a lot of schools around the globe and this school really stood out for their welcoming environment. If I was a local I would strongly consider signing up to this gym.

  I came to an open mat session here on a Sunday while I was in town. Awesome gym! Everything was clean and the mats are high quality. The mat space is wide open with no pillars or other obstacles to maneuver around. Everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly. The instructors I met (Jason and Jayson) were very knowledgable and made safety a priority during the session. This is a great room with a lot of high level talent and instruction. I'd recommend NMJJ to anyone. I'll be going back in the future!

  I have a son who is 9 and started jiu-jitsu in October. We went to about 4 gyms till we found Next Move Jiu-jitsu. We switched from our goals being competitive on a national level in motocross to having the same goal but for jiu-jitsu. We struggled to find a gym where he could progress quickly till now. I can't express enough how well my son and everyone I've seen there excel under Professor Jason. His ability to explain moves/submissions from simple to very advanced is something I haven't seen at other gyms I've visited. From day one my son was shown advanced techniques and submissions that he took to right away cause the way Professor can break everything down. Such a fun atmosphere, awesome and welcoming coaches along with Professor Jason's high level knowledge and ability to teach technique just made it our home instantly! I can't tell you enough that I'm sure you and your kid/kids will love this gym.... I know we do!! A 6 out of 5 stars!!

  Next Move is not your typical Jiu Jitsu gym. The culture here is one built on the value of growth and family. They focus on leaving a positive impact in every students lives…speaking from personal testimony and first hand experience my son and I have peaked in our physical, mental, and emotional well being under the school’s instruction. My son and I have had life changing experiences together in both of our health and wellness. Next Move Jiu Jitsu has been a blessing to us both and allowed us to create memories together that will last us a life time. Our legacy has just begun.   My son loves being part of the Next Move family! Professor Jason and his team of coaches are awesome! They really care about the kids and are committed to providing a supportive environment where their students can learn and grow. Lessons extend beyond the high level technique taught on the mats. They teach the kids to “do everything like a black belt” by doing their best in all they do whether it’s training, schoolwork, or chores at home. I love the focus on discipline and work ethic. As a parent, I also appreciate the family atmosphere of Next Move. I can always count on smiling faces and good conversation while the kids are practicing. It’s great to see this connection and the support the kids receive from all parents. Professor Jason and his team are building something special and I’d highly recommend you come check it out. The classes are great for all ages and skill level! Come in and give it a try!

  This place is great! The instructor's are very down to earth, but teach top tier jiu Jitsu and wrestling! Very family oriented me the wife and both kids attend. Multiple classes a week. Hreat place.
