Coach Ben is incredible, and I'm beyond thrilled that we chose his gym for my son's first sport and jiu-jitsu training. He's extremely patient and sees potential in every student. Coach Ben never gives up, understanding that it takes time for kids to grasp the concepts. His persistence and consistency make a huge difference in their progress. Additionally, the other coaches who assist are just as amazing as Coach Ben. After a year of training, my son earned 2nd place in one of the Dream Competitions. The experience was unforgettable, and Coach Ben was there every step of the way, offering unwavering support. His passion and ability to handle my son's different emotions throughout the competition was impressive. I highly recommend his gym to any parents looking to enroll their child in jiu-jitsu.
Posted 11 months agoCarlson Gracie Placentia it’s an outstanding Jiu Jitsu academy . I highly recommend it for everyone. It is a fantastic place to learn Jiu Jitsu, self-defense, and get fit. Professor Ben is amazing and hands-on in all his students development. I have been bring my kids here and I have seen the improvement month by month.
Posted 4 years agoCoach Ben is so gentle and helpful to the children. He motivates and encourages the reluctant students by giving them special attention and coaching. He is also a very kind and loving coach. Once a kid was late in a competition, he personally carried him to the scale to weight so the student could be in his match on time.
Posted 4 years agoAs someone who values authentic martial arts training, I was deeply disappointed by my recent experience at Carlson Gracie. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming and devoid of the camaraderie that is essential in any martial arts community. The instructors seemed disinterested and lacked the enthusiasm needed to inspire students. Instead of providing constructive feedback, they often resorted to harsh criticism, creating a tense and demoralizing learning environment. The facilities were subpar, with outdated equipment and a lack of proper maintenance. It's clear that little investment has been made to improve the training space, making it difficult to focus on technique when you're constantly worried about your safety. Furthermore, the class structure was chaotic and disorganized. There was no clear progression of skills, leaving students feeling lost and frustrated. It's evident that there is a lack of curriculum planning and structured instruction.Overall, my experience at Carlson Gracie was far from satisfactory. I would not recommend this place to anyone seeking quality martial arts training. Save your time and money, and look elsewhere for a studio that truly values its students and prioritizes their growth and development.
Posted 1 year agoBeautiful space and a owner/headcoach Ben that is very passionate about jiujitsu. Good technical details from patient coaches. The gym itself have a fitness corner where you can do compound lifts, and a couple of machines to work your cardio out. I personally think there good enough equipments that can save you on spending for another fitness gym membership! They also have one of the earliest classes at 5.30am in the morning for the early birds which can be a huge plus for many. Cleaniness at this gym is also tiptop 👍
