Dropped in today for the no gi competition class and open mat. Travis was welcoming and the entire gym was extremely friendly. Clean mats, safe but hard rolls, and extremely kind people. Will be back.

Travis is an incredible coach with high level details that will help your game. I was lucky to visit the gym to train with the team. The gym has a great atmosphere and everyone was friendly and trained hard. I’d highly recommend training here no matter your experience level!

Get this -- Magalit BJJ takes kids as young as 3 years old! We were thrilled when we found out we could enroll our kid early. Coach Travis (and team) were not only patient, but matched the kids energy levels as well -- we couldn't have asked for anything more. Throughout the year, our son learned how to break-fall, couple of takedowns, and basic bjj skills. If you're looking to get your kids enrolled as early as 3, this is the spot to go. Trial classes are offered and classes are currently Thursday and Saturdays.

Best jiu jitsu and grappling in the Bay Area. I’ve trained all around the US, Brazil and Mexico and have enjoyed Travis’ gym the most. The vibe is relaxed and safe. There’s a solid mix of casual and competitive athletes. Most importantly, Travis greets everyone who walks in the door and takes the time to get to know you and understand your goals. You won’t find that level of care elsewhere.

Magalit is an incredible diverse community, and a great place to learn an amazing sport. I came in two years ago never having done any combat sport before, and was very nervous. Travis and the group of people here made it easy and fun to learn a complex, but very rewarding skill. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a new physical hobby!

Great gym to train at. Travis is a skilled instructor (and accomplished competitor) and it's a nice, welcoming community with people from all walks of life, students of all levels including very high, and a culture of camaraderie and support. I started training here in Jan 2023 to learn some practical self defense. From my first weeks I felt like I was learning practical things, but also realizing how much there is to learn. As a result, game becomes addictive. It's also a great workout. Engaging, cardio, strength, functional movement.
