Really happy a month in and would recommend anyone try Logic for their first BJJ experiences. I tried at the advice of a friend so I jumped into the white belt class. First experience with anything is nerve racking jumping in but they were super accommodating. Instructor made a point to tell my partners it was my first class. After jumping in I like that the class is all White Belts. Everyone is learning and after ~20 different sparing partners I haven’t squared up with anyone who is trying to be a hero and increase the risk I get hurt. It’s been a great differentiation to my workouts - HIIT like cardio and functional strength reinforcement.

I started this journey into Muay Thai pretty late but I'm glad I finally did. Dennis, the boss, convinced me to join this club 6 months ago, and since then I feel that I've significantly improved my cardiovascular health as well as my overall mobility. Got a long way to go but I'm happy to be apart of this crew. Shout out to our coaches, Chris and John, who put in the time to make sure we all become better fighters. Thanks guys.

You won't find a better gym in Philly. Logic is filled with knowledgeable instructors and students. They've built a great community around health, fitness, and a team mentality, improving not only my physical health but also my mental health. I've never been in better shape in my entire life. Can't recommend this place enough!

Starting a martial arts, or any journey can be intimidating, but Logic family make you feel right at home, and that’s just what they make you feel like a family. Kristian, and Dennis’s extensive knowledge on Jiu Jitsu can be felt in every lesson. With the same being said For Chris on the Muay Thai side. Forever grateful!

This is absolutely the place to be at regardless of your level in martial arts. The staff that runs logic really take it to another level when they say “ we’re a family.” As a beginner I never expected to have the support they gave me, from answering all my questions no matter how simple they seemed to texting me personally when I wasn’t able to show up as often, logic really takes your development as a martial artists but also as a person into great consideration and it speaks volumes about the quality of their teaching as well as the people they truly are. They maintain a fantastic gym culture full of camaraderie and intensity, each staff member has an extensive knowledge of jiu jitsu and do an excellent job of conveying their teaching as well. I personally think they truly set the bar very high for what a true martial arts gym should be!! No better place to be at than logic!!

Amazing place to get started with martial arts, especially BJJ. I started BJJ at Logic as a first timer about a month ago. I chose Logic for its location, schedule, cleanliness, and instructors. Originally, I had a lot of anxiety about getting started with BJJ, but it evaporated pretty much upon walking into the gym. The team at Logic really cares for you, everyone is friendly and welcoming, and you quickly feel apart of the family. Highly recommend this place.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for Logic. My daughter has trained for a few years, but when she began training at Logic it was as though all the puzzle pieces finally came together. Exceptional staff, from the front desk to the coaches. Every single person in there works together and you can tell just by the environment. The owners, Kristian and Brandi Woodmansee, listen to their students and customers. They provide a location that’s clean, welcoming, safe for both men and women, and jam packed with knowledgeable people. They also include a small corner with coloring books and activities for children waiting on parents or younger siblings. They truly cover all the bases. I would recommend this Academy to anyone looking in the Philly area.

I attended Logic while traveling for work. My goal was to find a place where I could put real training in for the evening, with invested instruction, at a gym that didn’t make me feel like an outsider. I also wanted a place to spar. Let me start by saying, I plan to go back. The instruction was spot on, I had teachers coming up to me suggesting updates to my technique- it felt like I was receiving 1:1 instruction at times. When it got to sparring, I felt motivated and like I was part of the team, the owner, Kristian, made sure of it by reminding everyone there was a guest (thank you). As a female who trains, it’s not always easy to find gyms that are welcoming, and Logic was. The time there was legit (and tough) training, just what I was hoping for. I trained hard at logic, and enjoyed every second of it. Also, the facility is clean and the women’s locker rooms are right in. Until next time, thank you.

Great gym, and so glad I dropped in. In Philly visiting friends for the week, and the team at Logic was great--responsive when I reached out to drop in and friendly when I arrived. Good hard rolls, good instruction. Perhaps even more importantly when you're on the road, clean locker rooms and extra towels for after class. Full hour of instruction and ended with 30 minutes of rolling. Will definitely be back!

I spent a night in the city and decided to check out one of the local Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu schools in the area. I decided to visit Logic, and was very impressed with the gym. They had a large lot to park in was a plus being in the city, immense mat space, very clean facilities and showers. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and head instructor Kristian Woodmansee taught an incredible class. He ran the class in a very unique format that I really enjoyed. Moved to Philly and made it a personal goal to get back into Jiu Jitsu after 3 years off the mats. I've been training at Logic for 6 months and I can't emphasize enough how this has been the best decision I've made in a while. Kristian, Dennis, Kyle, Morgan, Craig, and Kanaan all create a supportive environment in which you set the goals and they push you, mentor you, and hold you accountable for them. The facilities are the best I've trained in, I love the sense of community amongst rolling partners, and the online platform (logicbjjonline.com) is a great complement/expansion to the concepts taught in class.

I had the opportunity to train at logic for several years. I was lucky enough to be a part of it day one. Under Kristian's tutelage, I feel as though my jiu jitsu journey has been much more clearly defined. His instruction is clear and concise, but also leaves room for questions and creativity. This is not always the case with other world class/champion athletes. This skill in instruction also shows when he teaches seminars across the country. He is being requested by other schools (frequently) to teach. In retrospect, it is fantastic having such access to such a prominent thought leader in the greater jiu jitsu community. Because of extenuating circumstances, I had to leave Philadelphia, but I think about my logic family frequently. I have just received my purple belt, not from Kristian. But I believe I would not have experienced consistent success without having such a solid foundation build by such a good group of people at logic. TL;DR- Kristian is a world class instructor. The people are great. I miss being able to train there.

5 out of 5 stars. I am not a Logic student, however I try to get over to Logic 1-2 times a week to train. Kristian's attention to detail and focus on each student is incredible. During every class or training that I've been to at Logic or elsewhere when Kristian was there, Kristian always made time to talk to any student in need of his help and recommendations. His teaching is very detailed in which he focuses his attention on concepts and applying them to your game - rather than just drilling a few techniques from a specific and unrealistic set-up. Whenever I have left Logic, I've felt like I've left with much more knowledge and skill then I had walking in. Logic Jiu Jitsu, Kristian and the Logic instructors have helped improve my game tremendously

I had the pleasure of training with Kristian at Logic BJJ during the winter holidays in 2019 while visiting family. The gym itself is absolutely gorgeous. It is on the third floor of a building, black and white color scheme, over 5,000 sq feet of mat space, in a large open room with a view of the city. Great location. One of the cleanest gyms I've ever been in. Actually it is the cleanest. Bathrooms/Locker rooms are spacious, clean and extensive. By this point I was only training for a little over a year and was a white belt. Still I was treated incredibly nice and I felt very welcomed. Got to roll with a wide variety of belts. They were extreme tough, had great technique, and they were more than willing to help teach me when asked. Wonderful experience to be honest. As for Kristian, incredibly knowledgeable, incredibly skilled, and a true veteran of combat sports at the highest level. Getting to roll with him that day was eye opening, fun, and made me love the sport even more. Family man and the gym had a close knit feel. If i lived in the area this would 100% the gym I'd attend. If you are flying into Philadelphia from out of town, this is a mandatory spot to visit!

There are three simple reasons why Logic is a five star experience: (1) first rate facilities, (2) first rate instruction, and (3) first rate people. First, the gym, lockers, and equipment are beautiful. The gym makes great use of space, everything is well organized, well maintained, and CLEAN. Most jiujitsu academies in a city are concrete boxes with mats, Logic is wide open beautiful concept with the best equipment available that creates a professional training atmosphere. Second, Logic’s instructors are the best. Kristian Woodmansee (a world class competitor and a nationally sought after instructor) leads a team of knowledgeable, thorough, and caring instructors who have a passion for sharing their jiu jitsu. They make jiu jitsu accessible for every student and will help you learn to create your own style no matter your size, shape, age, etc. Whether you’re a new white belt with limited or no experience or an experienced competitor, Logic’s instructors will show you how to improve your game. The kids’ program is also worth a special shout out, there is no one I trust with my kid’s safety and jiu jitsu training more than Kristian and Kyle Huang. My son trains at Logic and not only does he have tons of fun, but he is developing important skills that translate to all other sports and everyday life like core strength, body awareness, dexterity, self confidence, etc. Add in the fun, exercise, and new friends, and it’s a kids program that can’t be beat. Not to mention that Kristian enjoys teaching the kids and offers them the same world class instruction he gives his adult students. Really, how many kids can say they’re learning from a world champion? Finally, the people are the core of what makes Logic the best. From Kristian down to the newest student, the Logic environment is supportive, positive, and fun. My training partners always push me to be better and help me to improve; it’s expected here. Don’t worry if you’re new, no one has forgotten what it’s like to be a beginner, so everyone works together – the teamwork ethos makes everyone better, faster. Quit thinking about it and give Logic a try, you’ll know right away if Brazilian jiu jitsu is right for you. If it is, then Logic is the place to train.

Amazing facility and environment built by amazing people! Also those mats 🥰!! I’ve never felt so comfortable getting choked and bent outta place! No slipping all over the place in puddles of sweat lol and everything is being kept as sanitary as earthly possible... also the fact that everything is brand new definitely helps in that aspect as well :) Logic’s facility and equipment is top notch! Like literally something you’d see in a movie about Bjj... set in the year 3020. Can’t say enough about this place! Kristian Woodmansee, Morgan Huang, Kyle Huang, Jimmy Tran and Dennis Pressey have created an AMAZING home! If you’re in the Philadelphia area, the rocky stairs are kinda cool and all... but come check Logic out n change your life!

Joining Logic changed my life. I came in desperately seeking to learn self defense absolutely terrified to engage with men in this high contact sport. Within the first 30 minutes of my jiu jitsu introduction coach Kyle had already taught me strategies that pertained to my self defense goals. I left one class feeing stronger and smarter. I was met with immense patience, gentleness, care and support, not just from my coaches but from all of the men training under them. 8 months later Everyday that I train helps to ease the fear I’ve been living under for decades and I am endlessly grateful for the world class training I receive in such a positive community based environment. Logic now has a strong base of women who coordinate training and show up for one another. I can not recommend this gym enough to other women and queer folks who are looking to feel safe in their own bodies.

Stopped in to train here while I was in the city for a Sixers game. Great environment, extremely friendly, and great instruction. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking to start training Jiu Jitsu or traveling through. I’ve been to a few BJJ academies in Philly and the surrounding areas. This one is top of the list!

I started training with Logic Jiu Jitsu in the summer of 2019. I was looking to learn a new sport, get in shape, and have some fun...something different than going to a traditional gym and lifting weights. I am glad I started, I enjoy and learn a lot in every class. i admit I haven't, my busy work schedule doesn't allow me to train as often as I would like but I never feel left out or dismissed by Kristian, Kyle, or Dennis. Everyone is eager to share their experiences with BJJ and help each other grow. Regardless if you are a beginner just looking for something different or looking to actively compete, Logic is awesome.

We HIGHLY recommend this beautiful facility and the outstanding staff! Our children have been taking jiu jitsu classes with Morgan, Kyle and Christian for the past 3 years at their former studio in the art museum area and have enjoyed them thoroughly while learning a great deal about technique, improving physical fitness, listening skills, focus, and self discipline. This all took place in a clean, welcoming, professional and well run facility. We have continued classes at their new studio despite the increased distance due to our excellent past experiences and the draw of their state of the art, spacious, new facility. Whether you are looking for instruction on jiu jitsu, physical fitness classes or just a great place to work out, you should definitely check this place out, it will not disappoint!

Kristian is a true professor and practitioner. His ability to teach not only the physical aspect of the technique but the mental aspect as well - “how and what you should be thinking, your objectives, etc” - he truly knows what it takes to be a champion and I look forward to training with him again!!! -Albert Gorev / Vianna Brothers Jiu Jitsu

Excellent instructors and beautiful clean facility. The upper-level students here are just as helpful as the instructors. I always have a great experience here. I am a new student, but Jiu Jitsu has already improved my life considerably. There are plenty of female students, and older students like myself, are welcomed. There are also fitness classes and Muay Thai. This is a beautiful and safe environment in which to learn this intriguing martial art. I will not train anywhere else!

Have had the pleasure to attend a seminar with Kristian and he is a bastion of BJJ knowledge. He explains the techniques wonderfully and is a fantastic teacher. People in Philly and surrounding areas who want to learn or improve their jiu jitsu could not do any better

I started training with Logic earlier this year as a way to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. I wanted to learn a new sport and challenge myself in a different way. I'm really glad I made that decision—each class has been both enjoyable and educational. The instructors are great, always thorough and supportive in their teaching. I’ve definitely developed a passion for Muay Thai and would love to continue progressing in the sport in the future.

Walk up to the facility to inquire about classes for my niece and my presence was not recognized. It took a kid to get the adults come and the man yelled from a distance "What's up" I was appalled. I ignored him. He finally greeted me with some decorum and showed now interest in my inquiry. It is a hard no for me. Presence means much.

My opinion these people only care about money they made a deal with me and then went back on it they say one thing making agreement with you and then change your mind and say something else don't waste your time or money
