My son has had a blast during his classes here! Vincent does an extraordinary job teaching kids from all ages. We are very happy to be training here.
Posted 8 months agoI recently dropped in at Kuzushi while visiting Vancouver for work, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Overall, the team and instructors were all friendly, great vibes/music, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. I had the pleasure of joining the beginner no-gi class with professor Maggie where she taught some great fundamentals of staying safe in and escaping closed guard. I definitely got some great takeaways from the techniques she showed. Prof. Maggie was very welcoming and did a great job of explaining the details in the techniques. I also got to stick around for the no-gi all levels class with head instructor Ben where he showed some super effective arm in guillotine techniques. I'll definitely continue working on these back at my home gym! Prof. Ben was also very friendly and welcoming, he has a great energy. The team was also all friendly and polite, overall a positive and supportive training environment. I had a fantastic time on the mats, rolling and learning from everyone. A big thank you to the gym, Prof. Ben and Prof. Maggie for allowing me to train with you during my visit. Your hospitality is much appreciated. Oss!
Posted 3 months agoI was vacationing in Vancouver from Singapore and managed to train at kuzushi for a few weeks. I had a really enjoyable and fruitful time with Coach Ben, Mateo and Josh. They are a high level and very experienced group of teachers that provide techniques in both gi and nogi. As a drop in, I felt very welcomed by both the coaches and students in my time there. I will recommend Kuzushi any time for beginner students, competitors and all drop-ins.

Posted 3 months agoI’ve been training here in the beginner's program for a few months, and my experience at Kuzushi has been by far one of the best gym experiences I’ve had across different styles. All instructors bring decades of international competitive experience and coaching into every class. Drilling feels fresh and purposeful when instructors contextualize the lesson plan in the “big picture” view that takes different situations (Gi / No-gi / other grappling rulesets / applications and limitations in a self-defense situation, etc.) into account. Really lucky to have different teaching styles complement each other so well. Incredible support, patience, and vibes from the student community. As someone that attends for casual/recreational purposes, it’s really helpful to have a wide range of rolling partners with different athletic abilities & experiences. Good balance of pushing each other’s comfort zones in a safe and respectful way. Thanks to Ben, Harry, Maggy, Vincent, Zak, Matteo and the rest of the team for such an incredible learning experience! Looking forward to many more rolls to come.
