Edward the owner is incredibly hospitable and the facility is beautiful. I’m getting ready to compete in a high-profile grappling match. Ed and all his students were extremely welcoming to a visitor. The gym layout is unreal….a slanted wall you almost never see, brand-new mats, three separate training areas, and a full weight-training section. On top of that, they’ve got a super nice bathroom setup with multiple showers, plus a full recovery area with two saunas, a cold plunge, and (I’m pretty sure) compression boots too. Coming from Ohio, I can tell you a lot of SoFlo gyms don’t even have central air. They keep the temperature perfect here, and it makes a huge difference. I almost forgot to mention: the gym is spotless! Seriously one of the cleanest gyms I’ve ever seen. I also noticed a great mix of beginners and advanced students training together, plus a healthy mix of ages, men, and women, which is always a strong sign of culture and community. As a gym owner myself for almost 12 years, I highly recommend checking out Komba! -Robby Malof
Posted 3 months agoAll the trainers are professional, dedicated, and patient. The place is well-maintained and organized. I’ve been training for a short time and already feel progress in my fitness. I even made some friends! It’s a great skill to have and I plan on staying for a while.
Posted 5 months agoMy boys and I love this academy. It’s so clean and a great environment for kids to be immersed in. They learn discipline, technique, they condition to get stronger and they have fun while doing it. I take the classes too, it’s important for women to know how to choke a man out, though we pray it is never necessary.
Posted 3 months agoI’ve been to multiple gyms and this one clearly stands out among the rest. No other gym I’ve been to has the organization, competitive attitude, and attention to detail like this gym does. The coaches genuinely care about the people getting better at technique and not just boosting up the gyms ego and reputation. The coaches are very knowledgeable and willing to learn with their students and learn from their own mistakes as well as teach student no matter what whether you’re beginner or advanced. When I joined this gym I was expecting to be another paying customer, but this gym genuinely feels like a family and a team. If you’re looking for BJJ without the fluff, look no further than Komba!
Posted 1 month agoThe owner is very friendly and approachable. The students are super cool. Alex is the man with the plan and his other coaches are stars in the game as well. Lastly, I would say that the facility alone was worth the price of entry but all together it’s a great gym! -Juan
