As an avid fitness enthusiast, I recently decided to give John's Gym a try after hearing mixed reviews from friends and colleagues. What I encountered was a gym that seemed stuck in a time warp, with worn-down equipment and coaches who took their roles a bit too seriously. Let's start with the physical condition of the gym itself. From the moment I walked in, it was apparent that this was not a place that invested much in upkeep. The paint was chipped, the flooring was worn, and the equipment looked like it had seen better days. While I understand that not every gym needs to be flashy, there's a fine line between rustic charm and neglect, and unfortunately, John's Gym fell firmly into the latter category. But it wasn't just the physical appearance of the gym that left me underwhelmed; it was also the attitude of the coaching staff. While I appreciate trainers who are passionate about their work, there's a point where dedication crosses over into obsession, and that seemed to be the case here. Coaches at John's Gym were constantly hovering over clients, barking orders and corrections with little regard for personal boundaries or individual needs. It felt more like being in a boot camp than a supportive fitness environment. Moreover, the lack of variety in training programs was disappointing. It seemed like every workout followed the same tired formula, with little room for customization or progression. Whether you were a beginner or an experienced athlete, you were expected to fit into the gym's rigid mold, which left little room for growth or exploration. On a positive note, the membership fees were relatively affordable, which might appeal to budget-conscious individuals looking for a no-frills gym experience. Additionally, some clients seemed to thrive in the intense atmosphere, so if you're someone who thrives on tough love and strict discipline, John's Gym might be right up your alley. John's Gym may have its loyal devotees, it's not a place I would recommend to the casual gym-goer looking for a welcoming and inclusive environment. Between the run-down facilities and the overly zealous coaching staff, there are far better options out there for those seeking a positive and fulfilling fitness experience.

Been going to John’s gym for the past month and can really say I enjoy it. All of my coaches are teaching me basics at every corner, feel like I’m really being looked out for and getting wisdom and guidance dropped on me every class. If your thinking about doing the jump, this is the perfect gym to start in.

Amazing gym to train for both kids and adults. It is always clean and the coaches are all very welcoming. My favorite part is that I can do a little bit of everything. I do BJJ, Boxing, and Muay Thai. Highly recommend.

My daughter has been boxing at John’s gym for 2 years and getting ready for her first amateur fight. Coach Ernesto, Ethan and Roger are the best!!

I go to this gym for boxing. The coaches are amazing and they will both watch and make sure you are learning proper form. At some gyms only competitors get attention but at John’s gym you will find instruction no matter what your level. My former gym was pretty small and there wasn’t a lot of English speakers so this was a huge improvement. I look forward to (except jump rope) every class! Highly recommend this gym and it’s coaches.
