Situated adjacent to the Green Bay Botanical Gardens and Northeast Wisconsin Tech College, this establishment is a true gem. I attended a sunrise open mat session at 5am and discovered clean and expansive facilities, a small but dedicated group of participants, open changing rooms, excellent instruction, and enjoyable rolls with exceptionally nice individuals. I will definitely return to Green Bay Jiu Jitsu.
Great instructors, friendly environment.
Love this place! You are taught by two high level competitive black belts that go out of their way to help you learn the sport. On top of that there are several extremely accomplished black belts, and higher belts that treat lower belts with respect. I couldn’t imagine training anywhere else!
Professor Rob is a gifted and experienced BJJ practitioner whose attention to detail is truly awe-inspiring! I came for a drop-in and he and the Green Bay Jiu Jitsu crew welcomed me with open arms. When I visited, a number of the members were prepping for an upcoming competition so the atmosphere was electric and the rolls were competitive and so much fun! Green Bay Jiu Jitsu has a viewing area with bleachers that is separate from the mats, a washer and dryer, men and women's changing room/gym bag room, and weightlifting equipment as well. If you're looking to learn from a great professor and roll with a BJJ crew with an amazing culture, this academy is for you!
I was in town visiting family and my cousin happens to go to this gym, so he took me with him. It was a great experience! I was greeted very warmly by both Matt and Max. You won't be disappointed with the rolls. They were also very professional and open to questions regarding moves and techniques. At the end, Matt even said I was more than welcomed to come back. If time permits, I certainly will be back when visiting family again. I highly recommend this gym to anyone visiting from out of town.
Green Bay Jiu Jitsu is top tier! I am a middle aged man that just recently started BJJ. I travel frequently for work and while in Green Bay for business, I reached out to GBJJ. Andy responded almost immediately and invited me to train with them while I was in town. The facility is clean, the instructors very gifted, and the fellow learners are welcoming. It was a great experience and I HIGHLY recommend it!
My son has been going to Green Bay Brazilian jiu jitsu since they started the kids class. It has helped him in more ways than just self defense. Andy and Rob are wonderful people and instructors
What a great place to learn and roll! I was in town on business and I stopped by to see if I could drop in to train while I was here. Andy, was very nice and said no problem, love to have you here. He did a great job teaching the class and the other students were great in open roll training. The "Rhode Island Guy" will surely stop in again the next time I am in town for work. Keep up the good work!
I was in town for work and I stopped in to take a class. Andy was an outstanding instructor and what a great group of students in the class. Great techniques and rolling was really challenging. Thank you to everyone that welcomed the Rhody Island guy. I highly recommend taking a class here if you are looking for a great jiu jitsu place.
Nice set up and school. Owners were super welcoming and nice. They got back to me quick when I left a message. School was clean and everyone was nice. Instruction and training were both really good. There were all levee of belts there so someone for everyone. Def recommended if you are visiting and looking to train
Was visiting from out of town for 2 weeks and needed a place to train. Green Bay Jiu Jitsu came highly recommended. Andy and Rob put on a great fundamentals class. Both were very attentive coaches who helped make improvements to my technique in just the first class.
The facility is awesome. First thing you do is leave your shoes at the door (preventing outside issues from coming close to the mats), and it is required for all to wash off and dry feet before stepping on the mats for class.
The changing rooms are spacious. (There is a men’s and women’s). And the restroom was very well maintained.
The Mats are new and well kept. And as I was leaving they were being fully disinfected.
I am a white belt and felt very welcomed at GBJJ. Great place to roll and advance skills.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to train and learn.
Green Bay Jiu Jitsu (GBJJ) is simply top notch! Regardless of your goals, GBJJ offers a friendly, yet challenging training environment for all comers. GBJJ is not only the premiere academy in the area, they one of the best academies in the state of Wisconsin. Highly recommended stopping in if given the chance!
Very welcoming for people new to Jiu Jitsu with Fundamentals classes for new students and kids classes for younger learners. I jumped into the deep end at their no gi Monday night class and had a great time. Returning for the more appropriate Fundamentals classes Tuesday and Wednesday, the coaching on techniques was top-notch and I had fun rolling with another new guy around my age and fitness level. After seeing me come home excited and sweaty for 3 days, my 9 and 7 y/o boys were jazzed to go to Thursday's kids class, and now they can't wait to get back Monday!
I was in town for a conference and looking for a place to train during the week. The team and instructors at Green Bay Jui Jitsu could not have been more hospitable. They have a large, clean, well equipped facility. The instruction was top notch. If you happen to be on Green Bay and looking for a place to train, I highly recommend this academy. Thank you Andy for the instruction and hospitality.
I was visiting from out of town - they were very welcoming, I learned some great techniques and got some great rolls in. Thanks for the welcome! I hope to be back soon.
World class instruction from two awesome, competition winning black belts. It's a super friendly, fun, respectful, and clean environment with a philosophy of excellent technique and intelligent strategy. Lots of helpful and talented guys. A great place to train!!
This is a great place to train. A humble group with diverse technigues. Thank you all for the fun rolls and knowledge you handed down. I look forward to seeing you again.
Walking in looks very professional, offices to the left with a waiting area. Through the doors infront of you is the gym. That's as far as I got. The guy I talked to "didn't get his name" was very professional and direct. Just wish I could have trained here. Completely understand the situation but I mean people do change. Also wish I would have gotten an email back so I didn't feel like I was wasting anyone's time. Just wish I could have proved myself rather then just being labeled on my past.
