For my son, this place has helped him grow! The structure and professionalism offered here is amazing. Mr. Holmes coaches the children, of course, but he helps them to be come the better versions of themselves they should be. I love the atmosphere and confidence I can place in my child’s safety. Offering a training facility that makes sure the kids learn, have fun and excel in the best ways they can. I wish I could get back on the mat and try the adult classes but everything I have seen and heard of them they are a phenomenal place to go. Both beginners and returning athletes are welcome. You really can’t be in better hands.

Thanks to the amazing teachers patience and determination to better our child. He has been able to learn better self discipline and control. We have seen great improvements in our child’s focus and respectfulness. Thank you so much for the wonderful experiences.

I trained here back from 2016 to 2018. It was even a different name back then. And it was by far the best martial arts experience I ever had. Chris is a PHENOMENAL instructor. He has a great sense of humor as well. I remember he used to humorously call me "American Psycho" due to my likeness to Christian Bale. And as weird as that sounds, that genuinely made me feel like I was in the right spot. Long story short I move to Phoenix and am now a Purple Belt thanks to the love of the art this place taught me. I'm so glad they are killing it and if you're in this area, there is no better place.

We are so happy that we found Gracie Jiu Jitsu of Citrus County. We have all 3 of our children training here (8 and 11 & 16). They have been attending for about 2 and a half years. Chris Holmes is the most amazing teacher. When you become part of the Gracie/Pedro Sauer family it truly does mean family. Two year's ago our son suffered a serious TBI at an unrelated business, he is on a multiple year recovery plan. Immediately following the accident Chris was following his journey with the utmost amount of concern. He genuinely cares about his students well-being, he abhors bullies, he nurtures growth, he brings out the inner strength and he has the most positive outlook of anybody I have ever met. I have seen Chris just sitting on the mat with the children, talking with them about his path within the Jiu Jitsu family, showing them his belt journey, he even let them each put on his black belt and to see their faces as they realized what goes into achieving that level of success was magical. Chris truly cares. Chris takes the time to learn about your child and understand his/her nuances. His patience appears to be never-ending and I have never seen him lose his cool whatsoever. When you attend with your children you are sitting amongst family. We are so grateful for all that Chris has personally done for our family's recovery in the last two years. We would never look anywhere else for an activity of this type for any of our children. I unreservedly and wholeheartedly recommend Gracie Jiu Jitsu of Citrus County.
Awesome group of people. Everyone was friendly and inviting. Felt like I was training at my home gym. Learned a couple fundamental tips to up my game. Looking forward to coming back in the future. - kudos to the owners for cultivating a great gym culture.
Our 12 year old has been taught by Mr. Chris since she was 5, now he teaches our 7 year old and will teach our 3 year old. His teachings are invaluable and it’s obvious how much Ms. Heather and him value our children.

The staff here is amazing with kids. My son gained so much confidence after only a few classes. There is good order and discipline instilled here. I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone with kids. I see the progress every day not only with my son but all the kids here.
The Best School for your Children's Jiu-jitsu journey. Unlike other sports Jiu-jitsu is not seasonal, It's year-round. Mr.Holmes is an amazing Instructor and Mentor to all his students. Dropped into Gracie of Citrus County with my son and had an amazing experience. Professor introduced us to the class, led an effective worm up, separated the class by skill to make sure everyone had the right training. Roll with the higher level lower belts was fun. Had great conversation with professor and can’t wait to visit again!
This place is amazing. Chris is so good with all the kids-he teaches them in respect and confidence in themself and between each other. He is great teacher and I am so thankful for everything my daughter learned from him.
Gracie Jiu Jitsu of Citrus County was an amazing find for me. As an adult wanting more discipline in a martial art and also finding a group of people I felt at home with was hard for me. I was welcomed and taken care of by the group as a whole. It is great to be able to learn and not feel anxious about anything. No one was judgmental about the skills I did or did not possess and I was happy to start my journey with both feet on the ground in this academy. My first class I walked in early to find Chris Holmes teaching a kids class. There had to be about 25 children buzzing around like little hornets! Everything was in such order and they all LISTENED TO HIM! I was amazed,. they were all attentive and I knew I was in the right place. A warm and welcoming place with a fantastic instructor. Students help each other and Chris has an assistant, Heather, that has helped me get into Jiu Jitsu more technically with one on one help when I am not understanding something or need to see something repeated. There are other members of Gracie Jiu Jitsu of Citrus County that have stepped forward to help me succeed as well. This school does not leave you behind. Everyone is taken care of to the fullest extent of their abilities and the Gracie Academy should be very proud to have the Citrus County Academy under their belt. Thank you again!

My boys just started back, they were so excited to be in class again, they like physical & mental challenge that comes with jiu jitsu, I really like the discipline, respect & confidence that they learn from their class. They're in good hands with Chris & coach Heather at this studio....

Stopped by with a friend for my introduction to Jiu Jitsu. Everyone was very welcoming and forth coming. The instructors adhered to my skillsets and introduced me to this martial art very well.
We came to Agogi with years in another discipline. Agogi had been the most respectful of what we learned, how we learned, and where we came from. Day one blew our mind, and every day we train we have the best time. My daughter, 9, ADHD and dyslexic. Mr Holmes channels her energies and doesn't try to shut her down and command it out of her. Which has made all the difference. She looks forward to Jiu Jitsu everyday and is the first thing she asks about in the morning, "Do I have Jiu Jitsu today!" A very supportive academy environment for myself as well. I'm finding all the answers I've been searching for, learning more than I ever thought possible every day, and building my confidence. Agogi recognizes busy schedules and families and always iterates not to stress and they are there when you're able, and it's like you're always there. We're very grateful to have found them. Train here, because everyone who walks through the door is family.
Seriously friendly environment! I was visiting this week and they welcomed me in like one of their own. The fundamentals they teach are super solid! I definitely recommend this place if you want to train in a welcoming environment with a wide variety of skill levels. The nights I trained had all levels from new white all the up to black belts on the mats learning from each other and just having fun.
Chris is an amazing instructor, really opened my eyes to the intricacies of jiu jitsu but still makes it extremely easy to understand. The entire crowd is phenomenal people, super friendly and they all have little tips and tricks. Highly reccomended!
Agogi Academy of Combative’s is a great school. The head instructor Chris Holmes is compassionate and a great role model for the children. He doesn’t just teach them the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he teaches confidence, respect, and much more. He sits with the children and educates them on real life situations. The awesome part about how he teaches is how he explains the techniques. One move he teaches them, is how to break free from being grabbed by a backpack. That’s just one example. My son is very hyperactive and behavioral issues. Chris seen something in him and didn’t make me feel ashamed, or rejected. He said he will help, and he has. My son has been with him since he was 4. And he has been such a sweet respectful young man since. You don’t just gain a “hobby” you gain a family and way of life. All of my children participate and love being on the mat. We look forward to many more years at Agogi.

I came across Agogi when I was visiting my parents in Beverly Hills Florida. I'm currently a brown belt and always look for a good place to train when I'm in new areas. Agogi welcomed me with open arms, let me teach some stuff and I got some awesome rolling in as well. When they say family-friendly, they definitely mean it. Extremely respectful instructors and students and a great learning environment. I know which gym I'll always come to when I'm down in Florida.

I own and run an Academy in Harrisburg, NC. and know what great academy is and must say, this is a fantastic place to train for kids and adults. Anytime I get a chance to refer someone in this area to find a place to train, this is the only academy I’ll recommend. You can tell instantly that everyone genuinely cares for the students and are passionate about teaching. The lessons here are realistic and practical in real life and there is an attention to detail and quality that is rare to find. The culture is welcoming, friendly, and If you are the area or looking for a place to train I highly recommend training here.
Awesome school. I took 2 classes (Jiu Jitsu) already and love them. I’m 37 and wrestled for 12 years when I was younger. I was missing it and now found a new love. Only regret that I didn’t sign up earlier in my life.

Great BJJ gym with great teachers and students! I usually train in Chicago, but was in Inverness visiting family, trained here a couple a times, and I will certainly be back. Whether you live near the gym or are visiting, this is the place to train BJJ. To sum it up: Friendly, clean, and knowledgeable!
I happened to visit the Inverness/Hernando area over the Presidents Day weekend (on vacation). I’m from the NYC/NJ area and I’ve been training Brazilian jiu jitsu at Renzo Gracie Academy for the past 16 years. I searched the web for a place where I could burn off some of those delicious biscuits & gravy from an awesome hole-in-the-wall place in the area. I found Agogi headed by Chris Holmes (Pedro Sauer Association). Chris could not have been more warm and welcoming. I was able to roll with the students and they had very good skill levels. Chris informed me that this is a young academy or he might have said it was a fairly new location. Either way the space for training is excellent! I experienced an extremely friendly, supportive group of students and instructor. If you have any interest in learning Brazilian jiu jitsu in this area, definitely give Agogi a try. Chris also mentioned kids classes as well. Chris and students, if you are ever in the NYC area, PLEASE come pay a visit at Renzo’s. We would love to have you. I am usually there during the afternoon class 12PM, Mon, Tue, Thur & Fri (taught by John Danaher).
Love this place our whole family goes. We enjoy learning Jiu-jitsu, Chris and Kathy are great teachers and take there time with us to make sure we understand the technique. The kickboxing and women's defense classes are also great and have taught me a lot.
