This place is really cool. My son absolutely loves coming here and is learning a ton of really cool defensive moves. The coaches Sean, David and Cecil are great leaders and the helper coaches that come are amazing too. All of them are extremely encouraging and set a great example for our future young leaders. Thanks so much Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Keep up the great work!!

Great class! Sean & staff provide excellent instructions and techniques. They’re easy-going and make you feel welcome. Glad my two teenage boys and I took the 10 day trial and now we’re looking forward to becoming proficient in the Gracie Combatives course! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn self defense.

We are fairly new to the jiu jitsu community, but my husband knew Gracie would be the way to go for our young son. We have been more than impressed with the Gracie method, especially at this location. Sean is a gifted teacher and guides the kids to pursue not only jiu jitsu, but character and value development. The facility is clean and professional looking. We are thankful for him and his team, and all they do to serve the community in this way!

Cecil and Sean promote a family atmosphere geared to all ages. I watched as they trained my kids for their first six months and realizing the importance of their emphasis on safety, respect, comradery, patience and understanding, and a vast, deep knowledge. This combined with Gracie University's curriculum was what got me on the mats myself. Teetering to 42, I wish I started my Jiu Jitsu journey 1/3 my age ago. And knowing what I know now, I wouldn't want to train anywhere else.

A friend recommended Gracie Jiu-Jitsu North Phoenix to me and I am so glad he did! I wanted to find a way to learn self defense and find an environment that was non competitive, safe, welcoming and fun. I found all of that and more! All ages are welcome (I’m in my mid 60’s) and the black belt instructors Cecil and Sean could not have been kinder or more welcoming. I’m so glad I joined. I learn new things every time I attend, building new pathways in my brain and feel challenged in a very good way.

I stopped in to Gracie North Phoenix for a training session last night and had a blast! Sean and Cecil gave me a very warm welcome, and I learned a ton from their class. Sean is a phenomenal instructor and is well-versed in both competition and self-defense Jiu Jitsu. If I lived nearby I would 100% attend regularly. Join Gracie North Phoenix today - you'll wish you signed up sooner!

Sean and Cecil are incredibly skilled, patient, and genuinely invested in helping each student improve, regardless of their experience level. The classes are well-structured, offering a great mix of technique and games which keeps things challenging and fun. The location itself is very clean, spacious, and equipped with mats that ensure safety during training. This is my 3rd BJJ gym and I am proud to call this home. They really focus on the fundamentals when you first start, but they know how to make the fundamentals fun. I have been doing BJJ off and on for a few years and I have learned more here in a few months than I have my entire time doing BJJ. The instructors here are top notch and genuinely care about your success and will make sure you understand everything and are very open to questions or explaining things more in depth. On top of this, the other people that go here are super cool. You get integrated into the family very quick. I’m glad I found them and started going and I highly recommend you come check them out!

Gracie jiujitsu goes above and beyond to provide kids with an amazing experience. Sean and Cecil are both incredibly dedicated instructors and we couldn’t have asked for our son to have better role models and coaches. Gracie has taught our son patience, kindness, discipline and respect. Their anti-bullying education has made a huge difference towards how our son has been responding to a bully at school. I did my free trial at Gracie Jiu Jitsu North Phoenix and after my first session I knew I was going to sign up! Everyone there is extremely friendly and the instructors are awesome! Other gyms I’ve been to just throw you in the mix and have you roll aggressively with people who are way more experienced than you to the point where you just get hurt and leave having learned nothing. They really put effort and go out of their way to teach you and make sure you are understanding and learning everything as you go so it is a great place for beginners like me. They have taught me so much in only a few weeks and they keep their place very clean! Definitely not a fight club like some of the places out there. They genuinely want you to learn in a safe and controlled way. Appreciate these guys! -Ryan

I started my Jiujitsu journey December 2022. I was surprised they were offering a 10 day trail! That’s very generous for a new establishment. I signed up the 1st day I tried out. As a movement specialist for over 25 yrs. myself. The 2 black belt owners Sean and Cecil are very technical in their approach. I respect that a lot. They are amazing instructors! They want to give you the right foundation from the beginning. As an older gentleman like me one of my fears is getting hurt. But I’m still rolling with the younger guys! One thing I like about this place is the community of men that they are building. I can only foresee more success in this place. It’s also friendly to women. I brought my daughter and a lady friend who also enjoyed the experience.

Exactly what I was looking for. I have trained in various martial arts in my teens and 20s, but stopped training as I got older, married, and had kids. As I approach my 50s, I regret never training in jiu-jitsu and have been looking for a place to start. Cecil and Sean came highly recommended from friends that trained with them and I thought I would give it a shot with their free 10-day trial. I quickly discovered this school was a good fit for me. Cecil and Sean have a great teaching/coaching style and they bring many years of experience to their school. Every student I interacted with has been friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
