This is the best place for any kid, especially shy ones or who has any issues. Sergio is extremely caring, invested, knowledgeable coach, and teaches so much more than just BJJ to the kids. They even encourage bigger, more experienced kids to co-coach smaller kids, which is a great experience for them as well as a great example for the little ones, to thrive and be co-coaches one day. They build confidence, self defence skills, sportmanship, how kids should treat eachother amd themselves with respect, how to belive in themselves. There's a bit of play time before and after class too, handshakes, it's just beautiful to watch as parents how they grow from week to week. Couldn't hoped for more from a coach or a BJJ class.
Very neat setup, very safe for kids to practice, Coach Sergio is also knowledgeable and is great with kids.
Our 4yo has been coming for a few months and loves it. Coach Sergio is amazing with the kids, they love him. They’re building leadership, accountability, resilience, awareness all in a super fun and friendly environment. They do sections on how to identify and manage bullies, how to protect themselves and stay safe. The mixed groups are fantastic, the littlies can look up to the bigger kids and learn, and watching their growth is amazing. An experience all kids should have under a coach as dedicated as he is.
Gracie Barra Tauriko is amazing! Sergio is the most incredible coach and leader. He cares so deeply about what he does, the GB mission and helping kids and adults to find their place in the world. My son absolutely loves it and it has helped his focus and confidence immensely. I’m also starting the GBF class shortly and enjoyed the trial that was run recently. Try it for yourself or your kids, I guarantee you will love it! EDIT - Since my original reivew my daughter started the kids classes too, I started GBF and my husband joined GB1. Ladies, if you want to feel confident, learn some self-defence, have a good laugh while getting fit and challenge yourself to do something new then come join us! I can't say more good things about it and my friends and family are constantly hearing me rave about it. If you're too scared to start straightaway just pop in and watch. You'll soon be hooked too!
