My son Jesse LOVES training at Gracie Barra jujitsu in Palmetto Bay. He’s grown stronger, has built up his confidence, and learned a lot. The instructors are very skilled and knowledgeable in their craft and are also very kind and approachable when he needs additional instruction. Would definitely recommend this gym to all who are looking to get into this sport.

Me and my whole family love this place. It has basically become our second home. My husband had been practicing BJJ for over 12 years, but had to stop a few years back due to life, and when they opened this location he was ecstatic and joined right away and loved the vibes and great community it has. Then my kids started the second they turned 4 and I just could not be the only one, so I decided to join and it's been amazing for the last 3 years. I feel at home, secure and have reached a point in fitness I had never before. I cannot talk more positive things about the pain professor Julio, he is another reason why I joined due to his amazing and relaxed teaching style. Cannot recommend this place enough. Come check it out whenever no matter if you are a child, full grown mom, or man. It truly makes it a great way to stay fit and feel empowered.

Professor Júlio has created a great environment and GB Palmetto Bay. We all spar and train very hard and get together as a one big community/family at every belt ceremony to congratulate each other’s hard work. My daughter and son go here and they have become much more disciplined physically and mentally. I recommend it very much to kids as their first combat sport and to adults who want to learn self defense while staying in shape👍.

We absolutely love everything about this location. We were looking for a place that would keep two teenage boys entertained (enough to get them to step away from their video games). We didn't know how they would feel about it, but class has become a "can't miss" situation in our household. Professor Julio is the best - he is so patient and dedicated with all ages. He engages with all of the students and helps them understand the how and why. We joked that he should post YouTube videos - he's that detailed and likeable! He does not shame students, and encourages the beginners in an encouraging way. What we love most is that he has created a safe space - the students help each other, and work together to develop their technique. Can't say enough great things about Professor Julio and the classes. He has created a safe space for people to come together and learn (and sweat).

A review cannot possibly convey how great this place is. Whether you are age 6 or 60, Professor Julio commits a level of patience and attention to detail to each and every student, helping them find their individual strengths. The sport of jiujitsu can appear very intimidating at first glance, Professor Julio along with the coaches and students have developed an atmosphere which is both friendly and light-hearted. I live no where near Palmetto Bay, but make the drive due to the quality of instruction and the welcoming environment , nobody is a stranger here. Highly recommended! Pizza place next door isnt bad either!

Coach Julio is an extraordinary professional and teacher. He goes above and beyond for his student in every single class. My son have been in the Gracie barra for more than one year and we had saw results in every aspect of my little one. His attention and performance in the school had improved tremendously taking him as one of the best student in class. Excellent school for Brazilian Ju-Jitsu taught by professor Julio and his coaches. The professor and all the coaches are awesome, motivated and patient to teach. They are passionate for the art of BJJ. Men, women, girls, and boys of all ages attend the classes. I have been going for 5 weeks and I have learned many different techniques and increased my stamina. I have been losing weight and getting fit since I started. The atmosphere is family oriented and very welcoming. I have never done any type of contact sport and now I cant wait until the next class. Beginners must try BJJ!!! You will love the sport. Gracie Barra Palmetto bay is open 5 days a week and they have open mat on weekends you cannot beat it for the price. Keep up the great work guys!!!!

GB Palmetto Bay is one of the best gyms for BJJ I've been too. There is no ego from the coachs or professor. I have been to other gyms where this can be a problem. I am not looking to become a UFC champion. I just want a have fun learning martial arts and break a sweat with some like minded ladies and gentleman. I recommend this gym whole heartedly.
