This place is fantastic for Brazilian Jui-Jitsu open mats. I really appreciate that they have an open mat dedicated to first responders and military. Everyone here is very welcoming and friendly. The gym is clean and well organized. The atmosphere is great. I would reccomend this gym to friends and family.

I would give GB Ocotillo 10 out of 5 stars if I could. I have been training here since 2021 after I moved to Arizona. This is not just a place to get healthier and learn BJJ. Professor Lucas and the team have created a culture around building a family and self confidence around everyone that walks through the doors. The only days I regret are the days that I am unable to make it in!

Highly recommend GB-Ocotillo for anyone who is interested in Jiu-Jitsu. My six year old has been attending for about a year now and absolutely loves it. Professor Lucas and all of the coaches create a welcoming, supportive atmosphere and use teaching techniques that keep the students interested and growing. The progress my son has made and the excitement he has for going to class is a reflection of the dedication and outstanding coaching abilities of the staff. Due to being in the military and moving around a lot I have trained at a lot gyms. This is by far my favorite one! The reason I chose GB Ocotillo was because of the amazing atmosphere during my first time on their mats. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and you could tell they had a great understanding of the martial art. Plus, Professor Lucas remembered my name after the first time I met him. Which I’ve come to learn is one of the hardest for most Professors. I highly recommend Gracie Barra Ocotillo for EVERYONE! Men, women and children. Go train here.

I highly recommend Gracie Barra Ocotillo. My oldest daughter has been a student for over 2 years, my youngest and myself have been students for about 1 years. The staff is very knowledgeable, professional, patient and encouraging. I also believe the techniques are very practical for self-defense and real- life situations. As a father of two daughters, I am very happy with this school and the training. I evaluated many other self-defense programs/martial arts schools and am glad we choose this one. 100% recommend Gracie Barra Ocotillo. My daughter is a very sensitive 5yr old and we joined earlier this summer with no experience in jiu jitsu. At first she was scared and shy but, the coaches, Professor Lucas, and Paula were all so patient with my daughter helping her to ease into the training. Both my sons are training jujitsu here,it’s one of my best decisions to put them in the classes. Professor Lucas and other coaches are super personable, technical and knowledgeable. Beyond that professor Lucas is truly care about every kids. He always make appropriate arrangements for kid’s sparring. I moved from san diego california leaving Victory MMA of which was my original juijitsu home with all their talent. I did not think i can find another juijitsu home here in eloy arizona. Although i had to drive 45 minutes to attend class this gym is well worth it. Everybody is very friendly and Professor Lucas and Paula are very accommodating to make sure your technique and experience is enjoyable. I had to put membership at a pause for personal reasons but i am diffinetly returning in the future. If you ask me, diffinetly check it out and you wont regret it..🤙

I’ve trained at a couple local gyms, and GB Ocotillo quickly became my home gym. They train both gi and no gi, which was important to me. They also offer morning and evening classes, which means I pay way less per class than I was paying elsewhere. The community and gym environment is positive and encouraging. I love training here, and the staff and members have become like family to me. I would highly recommend committing to at least a trial class. You will be so glad you did!

Just got back to the States and was training overseas at a different GB, Professor Lucas warmly welcomed me to the mat. The facility is beautiful - spacious, clean, and most importantly, very cool inside lol. They have a shop, water fountain, and a women/male changing room. A few years ago I wanted to get some exercise and this place happened to be closer to my house than the gym across the street. I came in with little expectations, and It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. The Jiu Jitsu journey here has been filled with comradery, friendship and excitement. We moved away from our family and the life we knew, to build a better future for kids. 2 years ago my husband and daughter signed up for a trial jiu jitsu class at GB Ocotillo. They immediately fell in love with the community and Paula and Professor Lucas. Paula made sure we had everything we needed and welcomed our family with love. Professor Lucas made sure to help my little girl feel safe and welcome on the mats. The community all joined in and soon became our family. A year later my son and I joined in on the fun.
