Absolutely love this school! My whole family has been training BJJ for a couple of years and GB Chandler is the best! The Professors and Coaches are amazing, always providing the best experience, teaching techniques with great detail. The kids competition team is a very high-level competition team that will challenge and improve your kids’ skills and performance. We drive 60 miles each way 3 days a week to be able to train here!

I highly recommend Gracie Ibarra Chandler. My son loves it and he’s been enjoying it for 4 years. Professor Lucas is very pleasant and courteous with the kids.

I have trained at Gracie Barra Chandler, and saying this is a home away from home is an understatement. My two children and I have trained here for 5 years, and the community around this school is beyond what you could ask for. The school offers classes every day of the week, and all levels are from beginner to advanced to competing professionals. You also have the head Professors Paul “Piu” Eduardo and Lucas Castro, who have a wealth of love and knowledge to give. With two daughters who train, nothing makes me happier than being able to sit down and talk jiu-jitsu with them. It has really helped find something my family can bond over.

Training at Gracie Barra in Chandler has been an incredible experience for me, and I highly recommend it to anyone considering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The instructors are passionate, experienced, and truly dedicated to helping students grow both on and off the mats. They follow a structured curriculum that makes learning clear and effective, whether you’re a beginner or more advanced. The gym itself is always clean and well-maintained, creating a safe and welcoming space to train. I also love the sense of community here—everyone is supportive, encouraging, and respectful. It’s a great environment for families too, with classes for kids, adults, and even fitness-focused programs like BarraFIT. What really sets Gracie Barra apart is their global network. Knowing I can train at any of their locations worldwide is a huge bonus. Whether you’re looking to learn self-defense, get in shape, or be part of an amazing group of people, Gracie Barra Chandler is the place to be. I’m so glad I chose to train here!

I can’t say enough good things about the all-female BJJ classes I’ve been attending at Gracie Barra Chandler! As someone in my early 40s and plus-size, I was initially nervous about starting something new, and this challenging, but this community—and especially our amazing Coach Alex—has made it such a positive experience. Alex is truly incredible. She creates a safe, welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable, no matter their background, size, or skill level. She meets everyone where they are in their journey, offering encouragement and support while respecting that progress looks different for each of us. Her ability to balance support and challenge is so inspiring, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about helping us grow. These classes have been a game-changer for me. I’m moving my body more, feeling stronger and more secure, and learning practical self-defense skills along the way. Beyond the physical benefits, I’ve gained confidence and a deeper connection with myself and my body. If you’re looking for a supportive space to learn, grow, and feel empowered, I can’t recommend these classes enough. It’s been one of the best things I’ve done for myself, and I’m so grateful to be part of this amazing community.

About a year ago, I took the plunge into the world of GBF(Womens)—and let me tell you, it was a bit of a daunting leap! The combination of my age, being out of shape, and carrying a bit of extra weight made the whole idea feel a tad intimidating. But I was drawn to BJJ instead of traditional exercise classes or gym memberships, which have always left me bored out of my mind (and quitting before I could blink!). What piqued my curiosity was the fact that some artists I admire are involved in the sport, and I've always heard that traditional martial arts are fantastic for cultivating mindfulness. When I signed up, my goals were simple: dive into something that wouldn’t bore me to tears and, hopefully, enhance my mindfulness along the way. This sport is no walk in the park—it's tough! There have been plenty of struggles along the way, and typically, I would have thrown in the towel the moment things got challenging. But BJJ is different. It's teaching me how to embrace difficulty, how to gracefully fail, fall, and rise again. The beauty of this journey lies in the lessons it’s imparting, not just in technique, but in resilience. What I didn’t expect was the incredible sense of community. Coach Alex and all my fellow students are so uplifting and encouraging—something I didn’t realize I’d appreciate so much. I’ve genuinely enjoyed getting to know them all and discovering just how much camaraderie and support this sport offers.
