This is a great gym for people looking to get into jiu-jitsu/martial arts especially with a focus on self defense. I have been with the gym for a couple of years and as someone who has training in many academies across the globe, I can attest to the quality of instruction and the welcoming atmosphere. It is a certified Gracie jiu-jitsu training which means each student gets access to the web portal which will show moves you will learn in class so you can learn at your own pace. There are classes specifically dedicated for women's' self defense as well as classes that incorporate very light striking to ensure practitioners know which of their techniques are meant more for the sport version vs the self defense version. There is a focus on safety so everyone in the gym applies submissions slowly and with control. Note this also means white belts don't get to spar and roll immediately; while this might not appeal to those with unbridled enthusiasm, it ensures injuries are kept to a minimum.

I was visiting from Santa Cruz California and wasn’t sure what my experience was going to like. I was pleasantly surprised from how welcoming and kind everyone was in the Master Cycle class. The instructors and the students were knowledgeable and friendly. I felt like I had been going there for years!! Thank you so much for an awesome time!!!

First time trying any form of martial arts in my life ever. Never felt so passionate about any form of martial arts, especially Gracie Academy Singapore BJJ after attending the 10-day trial class and continuing on with my BJJ journey diligently 4 days a week with follow up videos on Gracie's University. All the instructors that I've encountered in the Gracie's Combative classes are all passionate about BJJ and they make you feel comfortable with this form of martial arts. Instructions are very thorough, demonstrations, follow up (drills), and corrections of form and technic by instructors during the drills are all great ways of encouragement and reinforcement to better our skillset. The GC classes scheduled during the early afternoons allows for many entrepreneurs, remote workers, parents with young children to be able to attend a martial arts class without interruptions. This was the main reason I've joined since it was perfect timing where my children are still in school. The schedule is very well balanced for working parents and self-employed people as well. My wife also joined Gracie Academy of Singapore after attending the 10-day trial class and seeing how women are so inclusive in the Combative class and Women Empowered. BJJ is such a male dominant sport where I come from and it was great to see the ample number of women and inclusiveness of women in this form of martial arts. There are so much opportunities in this school to further develop your BJJ skillset after Combatives. The opportunities are endless here! I wish the academy and its instructors continued success. The program is very well structured to anyone with zero experience. I came with zero experience and I continue on with my passion in BJJ.

Probably the best kept secret for bjj in Singapore. The first distinguishing factor that sets it apart from others is the presence of a structured programme, which I personally feel is important for beginners like myself looking to build a good foundation. Learning outcomes are set out early on and we students know what lies ahead. The 10-day trial period is also another factor that sets them apart as it is especially generous and fair for individuals looking to test out attending classes against their own schedules before commiting to the membership. Even though I am still going through my trial and still getting my sense around things, the fact that they treat trial students already like part of their family is highly commendable. The premises are clean and hygienic, atmosphere is warm and instructors are welcoming. One can only foresee that this gem of an academy, it’s reputation, and it’s family will continue to grow to reach its fullest potential and beyond!!

Kids class is too messy with no proper discipline. The teachers have no control over the kids. After demo a move, the kids have free time and some do not even bother with practicing. Suggest for the teacher to get pair by pair to practice after each demo move instead of leaving the kids to it. Parents have a responsibility with discipline but at a martial arts academy, the teachers should also instil discipline values to practitioners.
