My children have learned so much—not just jiu-jitsu techniques, but also discipline, respect, and teamwork. They’re always excited to go to class and leave feeling proud of themselves. We are so happy with the kids' program at Gilroy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! Coach Anthony and the entire coaching staff are absolutely fantastic with the children. They strike the perfect balance between keeping the lessons structured and making them fun. My 8-year-old daughter loves coming here. The classes are great for teaching discipline and technique, but they also incorporate physical games and exercises that are amazing for getting her energy out. We’ve already seen a ton of progress in her technique and abilities. I highly recommend to any parents looking for a great physical outlet for their kids along with some very useful skills for life.

I’ve been attending Gilroy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for six months, and it has been an outstanding experience. The academy offers great instruction, a welcoming atmosphere, and high-level training partners. The coaches break down techniques clearly and focus on fundamentals, safety, and steady improvement. Instructors Knowledgeable, skillful, patient, detail oriented, some have backgrounds in different disciplines such as Judo and wrestling. Many of our instructors have competed at the highest level and continue to compete to this day. Curriculum Techniques are taught throughout 1-2 week periods. This gives students a chance to understand the submissions, escapes, transitions and nuances of each position. Classes typical start w/ a warmup, technique demo, drilling then ends with situational sparring or live rolls. Gym Brand new mats, spacious and awesome art work on the walls. Drop ins are welcomed and we have open mat every Friday at 12pm. Environment Welcoming, friendly, students are able to wear any gi, tuition is month to month.

I started going to Gilroy BJJ in 2018 and got a solid two years in before covid hit. Thanks covid. I was fortunate enough to start back up again after restrictions lightened up in early 2022 and had the opportunity to return, this time with my young kids. I absolutely had the bug and wanted to keep learning and improving. Besides that, it gives me the opportunity to do something additional with my kiddos. Gilroy BJJ has a great group of people from all walks of life. The people are nice, and the instructors are top-notch. I really have nothing else to compare to, but if it ain't broke... don't fix it, right? The classes are fun and tough at the same time. BJJ is super humbling. I thought I was in great shape and strong enough to handle myself until my instructor, smaller than me, tossed me around like a rag doll. I'm not going to lie... it had and still has me fascinated. Some of those moves looked like and still look like magic. How did he do that? If you're looking for a challenge, something different, something to get in great shape, and something to do and just meet some good people, come on in. Even if you just want to get an idea of what BJJ is like, come try some free intro classes. Who doesn't like free? I'm hooked and will continue to come to Gilroy BJJ until my body just won't let me do it any longer. I'm one of the older guys, so if I can do it, so can you. Rollers of all sizes, shapes, and ages. I can’t say enough good about Gilroy BJJ. To begin it’s such a welcoming BJJ school which is hard to come by. There’s such a wide variety of skill sets from people who started last week to several black belts. All of the instructors are very focused to detail on the techniques they are teaching and make time to help everyone in class.

My son started about a year ago in the kids’ class and as a beginner. He enjoyed the challenges of learning new moves in each class and being able to use them during sparring matches. Coach Anthony did a good job keeping the kids controlled and engaged during the practices along with mixing in some games at the end that all the kids seemed to enjoy playing. The room was always very clean and provided free Wi-Fi for guests.

Gilroy BJJ is the best place to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the area. The instructors are skilled, professional, and committed to helping students succeed. Professor Antony excels at teaching techniques, carefully explaining every detail so students understand how and why they work. All students, regardless of belt level, are supportive and help motivate each other to improve and grow. I also have two of my children in the kids' class, and it has been fantastic for them. Our family knew that we wanted to practice BJJ. We set out far and wide to start looking for local gyms, ones that would be supportive of our little ones. After much research, searching, visits and trials, we decided to attend Gilroy BJJ, and glad that we made the right choice to enroll. The atmosphere is competitive, yet fun and alive. The kids absolutely love the instructors and coming to train with their team mates. The kids class coaches ( Coaches Kyle and Anthony) are awesome with the kids, in addition to the helper instructors. The adults classes are also very good, no ego, technical, constructive, everyone is supportive and helpful. We’ve found ourselves a great bjj gym that we’re proud to be apart of.

Gilroy BJJ has been great. The instructors are very technical and do a fantastic job at explaining the moves. The kids program is also really good. My daughter has been coming to the gym shortly after we moved here from out of state in 2022. It really has helped her with her confidence and her sense of self.. She really has come out of her shell and blossomed. She’s learned a lot from the coaches, not just self defense but discipline, accountability, and mentoring newer kids, and has fun while doing it all. I started coming to this gym to help fight my anxiety and depression. I didn’t expect to find the family that I did. I’ve been coming to this gym for about 7 months now and it saddens me to say I’m moving away and have to find a new gym. Thank you to the amazing instructors who were always understanding, yet knew how to properly push me. I will continue my Jiu-Jitsu journey where ever I end up in life because of the experience I have had here.
