I can't put into words how much this place means to me. This is not solely a gym where people come to train, it is a family, my second home. I'm so blessed and grateful to be taught by Professor Henrique, Professor Carlos and Coach Max! Does not matter what age you are I would highly recommend anyone to train here.

I started my BJJ journey at 44 years old and I'm so happy I met Professor Henrique and the Gama Filho family. Before joining Gama Filho, I trained at another self-defense Jiu-Jitsu school for 10 months. And to be honest, I feel like my Jiu-Jitsu improved 200% in a matter of months after joining this academy. Professor Henrique comes from a long line of martial arts. His BJJ style is extremely efficient and his teaching style helps students at any level. They offer both Gi and No-Gi classes with classes both in the morning and at night. I have a very busy life with kids, work, etc so I take the 10AM classes during the week. We have a great group of people that supports each other both in BJJ as well as other aspects of life. I also have both of my kids (7-year old girl and 8-year old boy) training in the kids' program. It's amazing to see them improving their skills both on the mat. More importantly though, is that Jiu-Jitsu teaches them self-defense, confidence and respect. Coach Max and Coach Richard are VERY patient with the kids and maintain a fun yet competitive atmosphere for the little ones. The FREE private parking lot also makes it very convenient for everyone - something hard to find in Miami!

I’ve been here for just over a month and can’t say anything but great stuff about this academy! Professor Henrique is among the best in jiu jitsu and has a way of teaching where you not only learn the techniques but retain what you learn in addition to having an atmosphere where you can become a regular and the rest of the students become your second family. If you’re looking to start to BJJ or a seasoned veteran looking to expand your knowledge, Gama Filho is the place to be at. Your only regret will be not having found this place sooner

Amazing group of people! Instructors Henrique and Max are always so understanding and helpful. Group sizes are manageable and you never walk out feeling like you’ve learned nothing. Everyone helps each other, there’s a real community spirit in and out of the academy. I’ve sat to watch their Muy Thai classes, might even try it one of these days before BJJ! There’s a solid class schedule with different times.

Super helpful instructors and lots of one in one attention that is impossible to find in other gyms. Henrique is legend in the jiu jitsu world and is eager to see everybody in the gym improve including the beginners. My first day in the gym I was greeted with lots of love from the whole class and cannot wait to train there every day.

You will immediately be welcomed with open arms and brought along at the pace that is best for you. Training with the group really will be the best part of your day. Henrique and the group will support you through all the ups and downs of your BJJ journey. You will also be given the gift of helping along newcomers when they need support. This place is awesome! As someone who has never trained before I felt incredibly welcomed into the family on my very first class. I have done both the Muay Thai and Brazilian Jujitsu classes. Both are really great, and an amazing work out! They take the time to clean everything after each class and make sure everyone is safe. If you are looking for a place to grow, learn, and get a good workout in; I highly reccomend Gama Filho.

As cliche as it may sound, Gama Filho Martial Arts has become my second family. The professors (Henrique and Duda) are second to none. They make time to make sure you understand the techniques taught that day and answer all questions. In addition to the exceptional lessons they plan for us, they friendships you make is an added bonus. Everyone is friendly and are willing to help you. I cant say enough of the friends I've made in the gym. Through Gama Filho Martial Arts, not only have I learned BJJ, but I've become more disciplined with my everyday life. I am forever grateful to Henrique, Duda, Ozzie, Christy (who takes care of the needs of the gym and puts up with our shenanigans), and everyone who I train with at the gym!

My 4 year old daughter has been a BJJ student with Henrique and his team for 2 years. She is advancing fast and loves to go to class. I do my cardio boxing while she is in class and it is so convenient. I love them all as family and you grow to fee comfortable and at home in their Gym. This is by far the best BJJ gym in Miami and so so conveniently located with great parking.

This school has had an amazing impact on not only me, but my children and even my wife who has started the cardio kick boxing with Gabriel as she isn't into BJJ. My 4 year old daughter begs to come here. She's met one of her closest friends coming to class here. The kids class is wonderful, with three patient and knowledgeable instructors, so the kids stay busy and engaged for a full 45 minutes, while many of the parents do the cardio class and get their workout in. The BJJ class for adults is fantastic and this school is like a family, everyone takes care of each other and trains hard but also respectfully. Highly recommend

I would give this gym a million stars if I could. The first day I entered the gym I was welcomed with open arms and treated like family. I had never practiced BJJ before but Master Henrique was very patient and willing to teach me regardless. I have been at this gym for 8 months and I have developed a very strong love for the sport so much so that I go multiple times a day. BJJ has changed my life in a very positive way and I owe it all to my Masters and my teammates. So grateful to have found them.

The Best Martial Arts gym I’ve ever trained at. From day 1, Coaches Henrique, Duda and the entire team made me feel at home. The gym offers a wide range of training options, ranging from laid back technical training for beginners to intensive competition style rolls for competitors. Also, there is a wide range of skill sets among the team, from brand new White belts to world class Black Belts and everything in between. I started training here about five months ago and when I look back, I cannot compare the martial artist I was to the one I am now. I have learned SO much, it is hard to describe. Corin

I would give more stars if I could. This place is simply awesome, a true therapy for the mind, soul and body. Henrique is second to none in jiu-jitsu, his teaching skills and personal behavior provide us with a unique experience. He and his crew treat everyone with maximum respect, providing us an utmost experience every day. They take care of every single detail, providing us with an extremely comfort and clean facility. Each person's limits and skills are individually taken into consideration during classes, it doesn't matter if you are 15 y/o (my son), 25 y/o, 35 y/o, 45 y/o (as I am) or more. Words are not enough to describe how I feel about this place.
