  Couch Ivo is very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft and gives each student the needed attention and focus to improve their BJJ game on a individual basis as well, while fostering a atmosphere of brotherhood and support amongst us as his students. Since joining from a previous club, my Jiu Jitsu has improved especially from a technical standpoint and this is testament to Couch Ivo's teaching style and Brazilian fire.

  Coach Ivo is unbelievably patient, so professional and really a fantastic mentor and coach. I was an absolute beginner, never felt uneasy or intimidated by others more advanced. He took time to help me, never got impatient when I kept getting it wrong and really showed me that learning something new can be fun and rewarding. I highly recommend Formiga to everyone, all ages and skills will fit in with ease and feel like they're right at home.

  Its been a real pleasure being with Coach Ivo and the rest of the students who practice the beautiful art of Brazilian jiu jitsu, coach Ivo is a a brilliant instructor and mentor patient with everyone well refined techniques to ensure you get the best value out of your lesson. I've only been welcomed with open arms by the Formiga BJJ SA team. The training groups are always friendly and eager to help each other better the practice, if one thing is important it's that the environment you decide to train at needs to feel like a family and thats exactly how the Formiga team makes you feel. 🥋

  Coach Ivo is brilliant with kids and has helped my son tremendously with self discipline. He is equally good with adults (I attend his classes with adults) and very knowledgeable about his craft and communicates skilfully to allow students to easily understand the Formiga BJJ.
