I've been training here for a few years now, and actually originally found them around 2010 because they were the first jiu jitsu school in El Paso with a black belt! I am so glad to call this place home. Everyone is respectful, takes care of each other, and pushes each other to grow in this amazing sport. I started my daughter in the kids classes as well and she LOVES it, it has given her so much confidence and she loves the sport aspect of it. A clean facility, with absolutely BRILLIANT instructors who all bring something incredible to their teaching. My home away from home these days, I cannot say enough great things about Alliance El Paso!
I recently had the pleasure of training at Alliance JJ El Paso for a week, and I can wholeheartedly say that it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped onto the mats, I was welcomed with open arms by both the students and instructors. There was a high sense of community and camaraderie; everyone is genuinely friendly and eager to help each other improve—this laid a fantastic foundation for my training experience. The quality of instruction is top-notch. The head instructor, Master Tatsuo, has a wealth of knowledge and experience, and it is evident that he’s deeply passionate about sharing his expertise. Each class was thoughtfully structured, integrating fundamental techniques with advanced concepts that kept everyone engaged, regardless of skill level. I appreciated the variety of classes offered throughout the week, from fundamental techniques to more specialized classes focusing on areas like gi and no-gi submissions, positional sparring, and live rolling. Each class was not only instructional but also enjoyable. The atmosphere was energetic, encouraging, and respectful, making it a safe space for practitioners of all levels. Furthermore, Alliance Bjj also fosters a culture of respect and support. I noticed that even during sparring sessions, the focus was on mutual learning rather than aggression. There was an emphasis on tapping out gracefully and helping each other grow, which made for a positive and productive training environment. In conclusion, my week at here was enriching in more ways than one. I am incredibly grateful for the warm welcome and the invaluable skills I acquired during my time here. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or a complete beginner, I cannot recommend Alliance El Paso highly enough. Thank you Master Tatsuo and his phenomenal team, for an unforgettable training experience! I look forward to returning in the near future!
I visited on travel to El Paso. This gym is welcoming, clean, and spacious. They have several knowledgeable black belts instructing. The students are respectful but ready to give you a tough round. Highly recommend!
The gym was very inviting and the instructors were very knowledgeable. The class is a good balance of instruction and live rounds. I would recommend to anyone!
I trained at Alliance in El Paso for two years and earned my blue from Tatsuo Goya. Prior to this I had about a year and a half experience at an American Top Team Affilliate in Watertown, NY. I also did extended travel for work so have dropped into a lot of gyms. This gym is definitely legitimate and highly recommended . They have experienced instructors, judo is mixed into the curriculum, they have some fresher black belts that are all about the current meta of the sport. They do extremely well in competition. I moved out of the area and still train but moving to new gyms I definitely brought a skillset with me and I completely credit this school with that. Great Coaches, great students, and also a great legacy as the school has some history. I am very proud to have trained here and to have it be apart of my lineage. How could I not give it 5 stars?
Dropped in for a night. Staff was incredibly welcoming and the instructors were very knowledgable and taught a well structured class. Great experience.
Beginner friendly and welcoming. Instructors and students are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Clean location with plenty of room to roll, would definitely recommend.
Stopped in while traveling- everyone is super friendly and they have very knowledgable instructors! It was a safe and clean environment. Couldn’t have asked for better while training away from home!
Leonarda, Tatsuo, Danny, and the rest of the El Paso Jiujitsu team have been fantastic from the start. My daughter is a new student, and the first thing we noticed after a few classes was the willingness of both the instructors and the students to improve each other. They are aware of students who lack experience in the class and take their time ensuring that they fully understand the movements. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Both instructors are extremely talented and are great at communicating their knowledge to the students.
My first jiu jitsu home, and still my favorite 10 years and probably close to ten gyms later (I move a lot). Osss!!!
Great people, Great environment, clean, respectful. Learned a lot my first day. Definitely a great place to learn.
Brought my nephew for the first time and he absolutely loved it. We were very hesitant of letting him join due to Covid-19 but after visiting the facility and seeing how they are handling sanitation we felt some relief. I witnessed the mats being disinfected before and after classes. Student temperature is taken at the front door and then they proceed to disinfect their hands and feet before getting on the mats. Thank you coach Danny and staff for being so kind and helpful . We will definitely be coming back!
Incredible school, cleaner and safer than ever! Highly recommend.
By far the most complete Jiujitsu school in El Paso. Teachers are highly qualified and care for the students. Highly recommend El Paso jiu jitsu
My 10 year old son is happy with level of instruction. The staff very welcoming and informative. TOP RATE👍
Great people and class. They were very friendly to me as I came to train with them while passing through on a road trip.
Everyone is super friendly. Adult class instructors are professional and highly qualified. Prices are also incredibly affordable compared to jiu jitsu school memberships around the country. There are also plenty of women on the mats if you’re a woman looking to join.
I’ve been traveling across the country and training at different JiuJitsu schools along the way. This is exactly the place that I hope to find while traveling. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the class. There was great instruction, and a variety of different sizes and skill levels to just with. A great experience and I’d recommend this spot to anyone looking to start or continue their jiuJitsu training.
I'm in town for work this week and I dropped in on a class tonight. Everyone was welcoming, from the instructors to the other students. Class was ran very well, with solid instruction and ample time to drill the moves. There was plenty of time dedicated to rolling at the end. Everybody kept their egos in check and the higher belts took opportunities to help the newer members. I'd definitely join if I lived here.
My first jiu jitsu home, back when I was a lowly intern assigned to WBAMC doing jiu jitsu as a way to burn off stress while working 80 hour work weeks. Great instruction, great people. Nuff said.
Its a great place great people with good adittude!
Well established youth and adult Brazilian Jiu Jitsu programs. Instructors are very knowledgeable, helpful, and still competing themselves. This gym is under Alliance Jiu Jitsu Team.
Best BJJ school in El Paso.
l love this gym!!! Great coaches, and great family environment. If you are thinking about trying out jiu-jitsu this is the place to learn. Excellent techniques from knowledgeable instructors, and you could not ask for a better group to train with!
I was very happy with the service at El Paso Jiu Jitsu. Me and my son were both attending classes for about 2 years. Tatsuo and Danny are very knowledgeable in jiu jitsu, wrestling and mma. As of today 12-3-2012 Tatsuo is a black belt in jiu jitsu and Danny is a brown belt. I think that Tatsuo is the first black belt ever in El Paso, Texas. We learned a lot from them and I would recommend them any day. Before we went to El Paso Jiu Jitsu we visited many other schools but ELPJJ treated us like family. This business is Highly Recommended by me and my son. A++++++
The children's classes have a fantastic coach, but he is over run by too many kids. The owner tries to help out but she is not capable. We had signed a year contract but quit with between 3 and 4 months left. After the original contract expired I was still getting charged. They renewed my contract without permission or notification. I finally had to cancel my credit card after several unreturned phone calls and still have not gotten my money back.
