Tried bjj a few times in the last 15 years, finally found a great local place. Been here over 15 months now. Dave is the friendliest coach I've met so far. Kalan is also very skilled and technical. Have met great people here and gained skills and confidence to use in my personal life as well as grow my own business. There is also great strength and conditioning equipment available to use while watching class.

I recently visited DropBear BJJ to check out the classes before starting, and I was seriously impressed. The instructors were running structured, well-organised sessions with clear demonstrations and excellent teaching skills. What stood out to me was how they broke down the techniques step-by-step, making them easy to understand for all levels. The atmosphere was welcoming, professional and very supportive. You could see the quality of the coaching and the way they engaged with students throughout the class. I’m starting this Friday and doing two classes, and after watching how they teach and operate, I’m really looking forward to getting involved. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about starting Brazilian Jiu Jitsu whether you’re new like me or experienced.

Not only are the instructors, Dave and Kal, incredibly helpful, but they also make you feel completely comfortable — even if you’re a total newbie with no idea what you’re doing. The support doesn’t stop there either; everyone training is welcoming and encouraging. As a mum who originally signed up just so my daughter would have a training partner, I never expected to enjoy it as much as I do — but I absolutely love it. Now my husband has joined too! I highly recommend giving Drop Bear Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a go. They offer a week of free classes, and you might just find that you or your kids love it as much as we do.

We’ve been training at Dropbear for two years now and honestly couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. My kids started first, and seeing their confidence grow through jiu jitsu has been incredible. I eventually joined too, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The coaches are supportive, patient, and genuinely care about every person on the mats. The environment is inclusive, welcoming, and feels like a safe space for everyone whether you’re a nervous beginner or more experienced. We’ve made amazing friends here and truly feel part of a community. Dropbear isn’t just a gym for us it’s a second home.

Drop Bears Jiu-Jitsu club is an amazing place for kids to learn self-defense skills, gain confidence, and have fun! The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and skilled, and they create a supportive and encouraging environment for all students. My kids have been attending classes at Drop Bears for over two years now and they have shown tremendous improvement in their technique and overall fitness. I have also noticed a positive change in their attitude and demeanor since starting at the club. One of the highlights of Drop Bears Jiu-Jitsu club is the wonderful owner and lead coach, David. His passion for teaching and dedication to his students is truly inspiring. He is patient, encouraging, and always goes the extra mile to ensure that each child is progressing and reaching their full potential. David's leadership and expertise in Jiu-Jitsu make him a role model for the kids at the club. His positive attitude and genuine care for the well-being of his students create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that sets Drop Bears apart from other Jiu-Jitsu clubs.
