I’ve come from Melbourne to work and seen this academy nearby to train and glad I did. I had the pleasure to be in the present of Yoshi, Jessica and the legendary blind grappler himself, Clinton Terry. I had an inspiring experience of training here and witness the influence Clinton has on the community of all walks of life. Truly respected by everyone and says a lot about the culture Clinton brings to the club. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Auckland.
Posted 3 months agoWhile the head of the gym is "blind" he is one of the few who can really see what New Zealand kids need to excel in Sport Jiujitsu not only in the local stage but also in the international arena. Daredevil provides an environment where kids are not stooped down but rather spoken to as young adults, something that is unique compared to similar gyms/dojos. Clinton "the blind grappler" provides opportunities for kids to take responsibility of their progress, recognising the ones that work hard by rewarding them an environment for excellence, a place where promotion is based on performance and hard work, he opens the door for possibilities, exposes the kids to what is out there and gives them tools to achieve their dreams.
Posted 4 months agoA fantastic place to train. Clint, Yoshi, and Spencer are friendly and experienced coaches, able to make BJJ really accessible for athletes of all levels. If you want to compete, this is one of the best places to sharpen your skills. But if that's not your thing, you'll find a welcoming, chilled-out environment to train. Very family-friendly."
Posted 6 months agoHaven’t joined an environment that’s been as friendly and welcoming as the people at Daredevil. Mr 11 has been training here for 1 year but you would never know it as he has improved in BJJ so much as well as making some life long relationships. Coach Clinton and the other coaches lead from the front and are super supportive. Would recommend Daredevil 💯.
Posted 6 months agoWelcoming gym with a great community and ethos. the coaches are down to earth and knowledgeable and compete themselves, and the whole club is super friendly. Couldn't recommend this gym enough for anyone wanting to get themselves or their family into BJJ.
