    If this is your fist bjj gym, consider yourself lucky. Despite being a gym in the middle of the suburbs, there’s a large number of high-level grapplers on the mat every night eager to help and break down the moves. You can join at the fitness level you’re at and there’s no shame in doing only what you can. Everyone is welcome. If you’re more experienced, rest assured the coach has thoroughly thought out each class and has direction to his gym. No random moves of the day. Every class builds upon the last, making it so that you don’t want to miss a day and be behind on the week’s sequence. There are multiple black belts on the mat nightly and plenty of other colored belts of every size (women too!) to get tough rolls with. The coach, Danny, is just an all-around cool dude who attracts good people to his gym. Fair price. No dumb rules or pressure to buy their gear. No gender segregation or cliques, just teammates. Unfortunately, I moved and no longer attend Danny’s but can still recognize 90% of the people in team pictures years later. People stay for a reason. If you have kids, this place is pretty accommodating. You might have to cover your child’s ears, but they are welcome to hang around adult classes. There’s also a pretty large kid’s class and the coaches who teach it are also good guys who genuinely love jiu jitsu. Seriously, bring your whole family.

    I loved training at Daniel Perez Jiu jitsu while in Miami. I’ve been looking for a great coach and Danny and the black belt crew are some of the best strategic minds in the game today. They have a great kids program as well. Most importantly, I had the time of my life training and spending time with the team. I couldn’t stay for more than a few years because I had to move for work but I gained a family for life.

    Been training for about 10 years with Daniel Perez. I can say with confidence that he has the best teaching style that I have experienced. Easy to understand, explains concepts and techniques thoroughly, and he is very patient. Train here, and you won't regret it. Great vibes all around.

    I no longer train but when I did this was the one school that made me feel at home. Amazing environment and teammates. Daniels attention to detail is second to none. If you are looking for a place to train look no further, Also he is amazing with kids !
