I dropped in on a daytime class while visiting from out of town. Great culture, great people and great instruction.
My son loves this place! He says, "it feels like home". The training is great and challenges my son to grow.
The Best Place to learn Judo & Jiu Jits Techincs by far. Have not been to new location but when base was @ Golds Gym would be training all the time. The Instructors are the Best in their craft. Was truly a blessing to have been able to train in this Judo & BJJ club.
I am a blue-belt hobbyist. I visit the Palm Springs area once a year on vacation. This year, staying in Palm Desert, CVBJJ was closer to home. I paid a set cost for 2 weeks of unlimited training and made it into about 7 classes. I was welcomed warmly, and I had some solid classes with quality people. Classes were 90min with warmups for the first 30, technique for 30, then rolling for the last part of class. Most of the classes are in the gi, and there were regularly multiple black belts in each class on top of an assortment of other ranks. I would 100% come back
If you could write the handbook of what you would like to see in the ideal gym, it’s hard to imagine it wouldn’t be representative of this gym. We couldn’t be happier. Five stars.
Best gym I've ever visited, and I travel alot visiting other gyms. Anthony has managed to create a fantastic environment, and at the same time a room full of killers. I'd feel blessed to be able to train here full time. 10/10 would recommend.
What an amazing place for the whole family. Teaching discipline, respect, morals, etc. The whole Mantanona family and all coaches involved really give their all to all kids on and off the mats. Huge thank you.

Hands down best gym I’ve ever been to. Unmatched instruction in standup and ground game, great mix between intensity and friendliness; there is something for everyone whether you’re a competitor, hobbyist, or anywhere in between.
I was visiting the Valley and wanted to get in some training. I called to see if I could drop in. Everyone was friendly and extremely welcoming. The instruction and drilling were top notch! I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in the area.
I had the chance to be down in Palm Desert for a month and decided to try Coachella Valley BJJ out. While I live and train in Portland, I had a background in wrestling and was really interested in seeing what Tony and the rest of the program was all about. I can't say enough about what a great atmosphere and the caliber of the training here. I felt welcomed immediately and learned so much in a short amount of time. If you're looking for a clean, professional, competitive and world class gym... look no further. I only wish I lived down there full time. I can't wait for the chance to come back. Thank Sensi Tony, Dan and the rest of the crew for the experience. Oss!
Amazing group with top level instruction. Highly recommend this place if you’re considering martial arts. The instructors and students are very welcoming to all levels. Very welcoming and friendly environment
Dropped into a BJJ class when visiting Palm Springs on vacation. They didn't charge me a fee and everyone was super accommodating. Rolling was intense but everyone was very controlled.
Back to the Grind!!! Great for kids teenagers and adults can't go wrong with this dojo..
This is the best gym I’ve ever been to on the road. I did 2 lunch classes, and there were about 10 black belts at each class in addition to all other levels and ages. It felt as close to Valko bjj , my home gym in Chicago, as any other gym I’ve been to. The owner head instructor has a deep wealth of grappling knowledge with a ranked d1 college wrestling son as well. And despite having 4 kids , he wouldn’t take my $20. Roy Dean was in the class too, and I got to meet and roll with him too. I’ve been training a long time (15 yrs , brown belt) and have done bjj all over the world , this is the best place I’ve ever been to on the road.
I had an amazing time learning from Professor Anthony. His Jiu Jitsu is top notch. I highly recommend Coachella Valley BJJ & Judo.

Top notch academy with a welcoming, inclusive environment lead by friendly, amazing people.
I love the environment. They make me feel welcome, even though I just going for extra training. The instructors are always making sure you are doing the drills properly. Also, there are so many students to roll and willing to give you advice. The class is very complete. For example, we start with bjj warm ups, then we move to walk around drills, then the instructors teach us 2 to 4 different moves, and finally we roll 30 minutes before the end of the class. This is my favorite place to be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Truly a first class judo club. The instructors Danny and Anthony, are very experienced and esnure that each student understands the skills that are being taught during each class. Because they treat you so well, it feels like a brotherhood. First rate organization. Try it, you will be glad you did!
Excellent and welcoming environment for those interested in becoming competitive fighters, or for those who want to get a great workout and improve self defense. Dan and Anthony are Amazing instructors, with a wealth of knowledge, great communication and teaching skills. I have been here for 4 years now and excited to continue my journey in jujisu !
Great class and the best instructors Dan and Anthony are truly the best and create the best athletes out of Coachella Valley Jui Jitsu.
