My Son and I have been training here for almost a year now, it has been a really amazing experience for both of us. Both of us are in better shape than ever, are more confident than ever, and have a great way to have fun while bonding.
There's a strong family vibe here, and a very welcoming environment - everybody has a place here, no outcasts and no "in crowd". In the kid's classes (6-9yrs and 10-16yrs), they teach the value of discipline, respect and hard work while having a really, really fun time. They always have a black belt professor and multiple blue belt coaches. Coach Tyler is the star of the show in the kids program, he has a style of teaching that is encouraging, enthusiastic, passionate, articulate, FUN, and the kids all absolutely love him. From day one I don't think I've seen him ask someone their name a second time, they're immediately part of the team, on equal ground with everybody else. All the while, these kids are getting better every day with a strong presence in the competitive/tournament side of the sport and slacking off is never accepted.
As for the adult classes, we have a close community of good men and women to train with, all shapes and sizes, and we always have a black belt professor to teach. Each of the professors has their own style, but all of them invest the time getting to know the students and are passionate about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Every adult who trains has a story about how BJJ has changed their life for the better and the advanced belts are always helping the intermediate/beginners.
Schedule is consistent and abundant (4 hours of adult classes a day, kids classes 6 days a week, competition classes for kids, open mats etc.) with a set curriculum, so every day, week after week, we are building on what we already know.
It is a touch more expensive than some of the other gyms in the area, but after we did a free trial week here we couldn't imagine trying other gyms and signed up the day the trial ended.
