I put my son here since he was 6 years old, he's still currently enrolled, couldn't have chosen a better place. Great Grandmaster , all his family and helpers have been great. My son loves it and has learned a lot.

My three children and myself are enrolled. Each child started at age 3. Grandmaster does an amazing job shifting gears to work with very young kids, teenagers and older adults to craft the experience based on the capacities and needs of each individual. This is definitely rigorous training but the payoff for our children and for myself is awesome. This level of training is not for the light of heart. In response to the one negative rating from a year ago, it is true that parents of young children are not allowed to be in the dojo during most of the training time. It seems quite clear that children do better when parents aren't helicoptering and the children have to be accountable and focused. We love the fact that other older children help teach our children and look forward to when our children have that responsibility. This is like "Montessori" karate in that way. We hope that Grandmaster and his great family keep this place going for many decades to come.

My son Jonathan T Griego has been there for 13 years he is an A student very respectful. Grandmaster has been like a second father to Jonathan. I appreciate everything he has done for Jonathan. I love this family. I would recommend every child to be raised in this fashion it has really paid off for us thank you to the Chavez family.

This place is awful. My son went here for almost two months and the instructors didn't even know his name. We weren't allowed to watch him in class which was a little bothersome (he's only 6) but we gave it a shot. He went 3 days a week and each time we waited patiently outside in the car while he was in class. He soon Started coming home saying his instructors and other kids were mean to him and said hurtful things. From what we saw the instructors are rude, ill tempered, degrading and disrespectful. We also found out that the instructors were having other students often 10-14 years old train the younger kids in class. There were over 40 kids in my sons class and they're having trouble keeping up with that many students. My son told us one night that he told a kid "teaching him" that he was out of breath during a training session. That kid told my son "if you couldn't breathe you'd be dead." After several bad experiences and for the safety of my son we decided this place wasn't for us. We were also constantly being haggled to buy longer contracts for classes, fight gear, gi's and tshirts, of course only gear bought and sold exclusively by the dojo could be used. We were lied to when we first signed up about making sure my son enjoyed the classes before any of that was needed. Soon after we signed up the grandmaster was calling us out in front of all the other students and parents because we hadn't bought a gi or fight gear after only a few weeks. The sad thing is my son was really excited to start karate and after a few weeks at this place he's never asked to go back. Good riddance.
