Joining Casillas BJJ has been one of the best decisions of my life. I attended one class and knew immediately that I was going to return. The community and family that this academy has is unparalleled.
This sport started as a way to stay healthy and active, but became a passion. Teaching me not only how to deal with an aggressor, but to problem solve situations specific to me, stay committed even when it looks as though no progress is being made, and to not give up even when I am losing. The most valuable thing I have gained is self confidence. Knowing that I can take care of myself when necessary and that I know no matter what life throws my way, I will continue to show up. I can’t think of a better place to learn Jiujitsu, than at Casillas BJJ under Jason, Daniel, and Hayden. The hardest part is taking the first step.

Excellent crew of dudes. I dropped in for open mat while visiting family and the whole crew made me feel welcomed. Great Gi and No-Gi schedule so I'll definitely be dropping in whenever I'm in town.

The coaches here are fantastic with the kids. The gym is always kept clean, and the atmosphere is super friendly. It's a great place for both parents and kids.

Update...some say they're too old to start training or that they're not in shape to do Jui Jitsu...well I am 40 and was completely out of shape before I began. Since I started training I've lost 25 pounds and am in the best shape of my life! I've seen similar transitions in my teammates within this school! These people care about each other and want you to succeed! Come try them out, who knows you may become addicted! 😀
I've been to quite a bit of different schools around the country and I have to say that when I was searching for a new place to train, after moving across the country, I was very specific to ensure the place I picked was one of good comraderie as well as an excellent training atmosphere. First time I walked through the doors, the team was super welcoming me and was very patient in helping me get back into shape and form! The instructors are awesome and have a lot of knowledge to share. The rest of the team have become some really good friends that legitimately want to help you succeed in whatever Jui Jitsu journey you wish to pursue! If you want to find a place that you feel like you are family from day 1, this is the place!

The best of the best!! We tried another gym prior to Casillias. The amount my son has learned under Professor Jason is amazing. It’s more of a one-on-one setting than other gyms, so each student is learning. The gym is always clean and orderly. Perhaps my favorite aspect is the teaching of respect in the daily life of the students. They are taught life skills that extend beyond Ju jitsu. It’s a great family friendly atmosphere that we love!

After 4 months of a Coworker asking if I was going to come to a class or not I decided hell why not go. The first day I went I was greeted by Jason and a couple others who seemed like they wanted to teach me about the art of BJJ. Jason is a very friendly person that helps you at every moment he can. Just put in a request to do something and it’s like you get private lessons to an extent. All in all this is a wonderful place to train and spar at with all around great teachers who are there to make you better and not just flaunt their ego.

Absolutely the only place to train in the Gonzales area. Jason and Terri are incredible. Starting Bjj can be very intimidating. This is a place where you can walk in the door and feel very welcomed. The classes I have attended were always very fun and full of great instruction. Please do yourself a favor and try it out.
